Tolexander: Why don't we respect anything that is indigenous to us?I totally agree with u. Na inferiority complex wet still hold our people make we no dey value our own people's effort |
She's looking so gorgeous. Money good oh n I'm so happy 4 her 4 her success |
This Case is a great opportunity for GEJ to score a huge political point 4 himself towards his 2015 ambition. But It's quite ironical n unfortunate that he has to raise his whip against his major campaigner b4 he came to power like mrs Oduah in this case b4 he score this major point. But that's just d nature of politics, sometimes u just have 2 make some tough decisions 2 score a major political point. But he's doing d right n very legal thing now if he makes sure that mrs Oduah n her cohorts in this case r fired or face d cruel hammer of d law. By doing so, he'll prove 2 his critics that he's determined to fight corruption at all levels in his administration n he'll sure win some hearts n constituents by doing so. |
khamas19: ..misdirected aggression ........U're damn right ! In addition 2 ur other points, Coscharis which is a private sector should also be held accountable 4 facilitating this fraud, so that company should also face d wrath of d law with Mrs Oduah n others from that ministry. At least that company should be hugely fined for conspiracy to commit fraud n embezzlement by a govt agency. Hey... but this is naija oh!...I doubt that dem go ever touch that company in this case because d owner surely go have a long leg with his connections to those on top . |
KenGali: Liar,I'm glad that u've at least taken some time do some research in d prices of armored vehicles, but truth to be told, there's always a cheaper way to get an amored car like those ones Mrs Oduah got 4 d astronomical price of $2m. Let's forget Dino's price quote of getting his own at $200g. But do u know that u can even customize ur own car 2 become an armed vehicle? All u have 2 u do is send ur car to a company that customizes cars 2 become armored security vehicle, so all that this company will do is to add metallic protective plates to d skin of ur car n then change all windshields to ones that can withstand bullet shots. Same approach could also have been taken 2 acquire these two security BMWs gotten by Mrs Oduah. Noting that d price range of a new BMW in Us is b/w $60g - $140g (http://www.motortrend.com/new_cars/01/bmw/) Ok let's say this ministry because they're cash strapped, buys a new $75g BMW then send it to one if these companies Like: http://www.alpineco.com/bulletproof-cars.php then if this company customizes those cars n ships them to d ministry, do u think the cost if doing all these will take up to $500g. D answer is a BIG NO!!! By taking d latter approach by d ministry for acquiring these vehicle 4 mrs Oduah, u can estimate how much it'll save rather buying d vehicles from a car dealership like Coscharis. It's really obvious that there's a wasteful use of financial resources n fraud here simply because mrs Oduah n her cohorts in that ministry know how they cod make by inflating d cost of acquiring those vehicles, which will be up to a cool free 100s of thousands of dollars in their deep pocket. They simply do that because they know that's d norm in all naija ministries used to loot our treasury. And gullible people like u see nothing wrong with d practice n have no intention of putting a stop 2 d practice of public officials easily stealing d tax payers money right in front of them and still go unpunished for their corrupt actions. Well, shame on all d supporters of govt like u. |
hikmoj: if na gulf oil money babangida embezzl which one concern naija 4 dat ?no be dem arab pple go hold am?bros correct urself sharp sharpU no understand about d "gulf oil money"...ie that during the gulf war in 1991, oil supply from major global oil suppliers in d gulf states like Iraq and kuwait, so that drop in oil supply by those states created a great market opportunity 4 oil producers like Nigeria 2 sell excess barrels of oil in the global oil market, which yielded Nigeria a massive profit from its oil sales in d global market. So the money made from this excess oil sale during that gulf war is usually referred to as "gulf oil money." |
dontjealousme: Fact the cars are not her personal property. It's logical n understandable for her 2 have armored vehicles 4 her official duties, but d problem we have is d purported price of just 2 cars 4 $1.6m. Do ur research n u'll see that that price 4 those vehicles is very inflated. It's just d norm amongst our govt officials to inflate d cost of their expenditures, thus strangling their allocations n ministries' coffers |
KenGali: He is pondering cause unlike your overly educated self, he has seen nothing illegal or corrupt in the purported action. I am guessing he was simply smart enough to look up words he might not know before peddling them around, unlike yourself. I am sure a dictionary will do you a lot of good.Just like him u're one if those gullible lot who don't even know when ur govt officials r cheating u with their lies ...that two bullet proof cars was bought 4 $1.6m & u don't see something fishy about that price because u don't know how do ur research on prices of bullet proof card by just using google. Cos u don't that price inflation is one of d illegal n corrupt practices that naija's govt officials use to steal from people like u & me. I don't think u know that most of socalled govt money was generated thru d taxes u & I pay as citizens of Naija n any non judicious use of this money by public officials is an illegal n corrupt practice which warrants prosecution for any official found guilty of this act. I know somebody like u won't get my point even if I sing it 2 u all day when u're busy cornering me by dissecting my grammar...n that is not even an issue here |
Cosmore9: Sincerely, we all knw this Aviation Ministry is one of the Sectors the present Govt is really heading Positives!! Madam Oduah has done a lot nd I appreciate that! But asking for her sack or asking her to resign due to this present case is smtin I am still pondering on! How I wish she never fell into this....Well, hoping the right things are done accordingly!...what r u still pondering? It's very obvious here that her actions are corrupt n illegal, so she should be punished just like everyone else. That's one major problem we have in naija...that some people think n know they can get away with anything because they're connected to those ontop. It's a pity that's why naija is still a third world country. In countries like d US n UK, 4 this issue, mrs Oduah is most likely 2 be fired, sent to prison n the govt will make sure she coughs out every dime of that money. |
I feel sorry 4 this one woman n her children 4 what happened n that those diabolical characters responsible 4 grief will face d cruel hammer of d law. But I have 2 be realistic, if this woman is d only witness 2 the crime that led 2 her husband's death n she hope 2 only use her verbal testimony against these boys in court n if these boys have a good lawyer representing them, I'm sorry 2 say it, but this is a very weak case against them as they may go free eventually due 2 lack of evidence against them |
Don Magic Juan: What is stopping the Police from having a functional Forensic lab?Thank u for this important question. I think it's out greed n corruption that we don't have a modern forensic lab either in Lagos or any other states in Nigeria. Really having at least one modern forensic lab in all d states in Nigeria should a top priority 4 d Fed govt 4 next years budget allocations. |
instinctg: I need to know the critical components to avoid when washing a car engine .There's really no area in a car engine that can't take water. I've worked in a car dealership in US, and I've washed a lot of used car engines if cars that are meant to be sold later n i was never told 2 avoid wetting any part of any car's engine as I did my job. Just follow these process: While washing ur car engine, just leave d car running, - after washing it, use a high pressure air hose(blower) to blow out d water as much as u can from that engine. -Close ur engine hood while still leaving ur car running for about 15 - 30mins more. The older ur car, d longer u leave it running after an engine wash. After this time period, turn ur car engine off, wait for about 10s, then turn it back on again. If d car comes on again without problem, then u know everything is fine, but if it doesn't come back on again then u might use d air blower to blow more of the water out of the engine again b4 starting it again |
whitecat007: Nonsense! The only reason whites are more safety conscious is the amount their insurance will have to cough up for negligence, it's not as if whites care about human lives than blacks, they simply care about their money and protecting their bottom line. This is one of d most logical input I've seen from this topic. U're damn right, oyinbo doesn't care more about human safety than us rather they worried more abt liability like d insurance coverage n also d financial gloom that will befall an Airline due 2 inevitable lawsuits from victims n their family members, which usually costs an airline hundreds of millions of dollars payouts to settle if that airline is found guilty of negligence. K, imagine d business sense of loosing hundreds of millions of dollars of an airline's revenue which took them years to make in just one day because if the stupid decisions of a pilot. That's just bad business model 4 d airline, so most of these western airlines do everything possible 2 avoid this kind of situation. But here in naija, d Liability of making such costly mistakes is very limited. Highest penalty is that the airline's license is temporarily suspended n I'm not sure they'll pay out up to $1m to d victims n their families due 2 an accident like this. In d west, the Agagu's son, family all d the families of victims of that plan crash 4 don hit jackpot as they'll be entitled to millions of dollars in payout because if d crash caused by d pilots mistakes. But this is naija, the liability 4 d airlines is very limited in case of a plane crash, so they'll keep taking these kind if risks unless things changes big time in terms of their liability 4 a plane crash. |
Thebrightest: Arthur Eze's decision is stupendously polobocratic andOmg! Ok! Suffry suffer oh 4 this ur BIG BIG grammar . E fit knock person down b4 person go finish reading ur comment ![]() |
ba7man: Enforcing safe practices in Aviation is far more important than analyzing a Black Box in Nigeria.Do u know that Nigeria is still a third world country, so most of our airlines are allowed to manage with older planes. The pilot was just plain stupid! |
Promhize: Guess stella odua was right after allU're right n because of a statement that she made, people keep blaming her 4 d accident |
Well, this tax na just pocket change 2 all those money bags affected n most of this tax money will end up in pockets of those thieves we have in govt. What a good cycle ![]() |
cachal: Am not really moved, most of this people did not start small, they are all highly favoured.. and from the article they all graduated abroad. What a foolish opinion! So na dem tell God 2 born dem in a privileged family. Haven't u seen people born in a rich family, but ended up dying poor? It's really about where u're that matters, but rmather it's mire about having a vision of what u want n then using what u want to get what u want. It might be mire difficult 4 u if u're born in a poor family, but if u push hard enough with enough smart moves, u'll eventually get there. So, my friend, if u're in a poor family don't get discouraged that u can never make this list, but just set ur goals n make some smart moves n u'll see how ur life will be transformed 4 d better over time It's not about being born rich or poor, but rather |
meccuno: Never had a single respect for dangote.....too much govt influence...besides,what are the lessons learnt from his activities as a business man......at least,we have coscharis, adenuga to mention a few you literally sold water to a well......but dangote, the only thing I learnt is that once you come from a hausa fulani stock, everything is okay....---abeg u have 2 give credit 2 whom it's due n Dangote rely deserves some credit 4 his achievements. K, 4 building his wealth from his govt connection, were his govt friends dashing him money everyday to amass his wealth?...No! Just like every other billionaire that has smartly utilized the opportunities of having the connection with people in power, Dangote has also followed suit by smartly utilizing d opportunity to greatly expand n build his wealth. K, imagine if Mrs Alakija wasn't a designer 4 d late Maryam Babangida, would she have gotten d oil bloc which led her 2 her path to great wealth today? K, did u know that d oil block she got had a very small profit potential compared 2 d oil blocs allocation that others with same govt connection got, but look at how she smartly explored d opportunity of her own oil bloc allocation 2 expand n build great wealth 4 herself. Imagine her business creative vision how smart she was from being a clothing designer to a billionaire oil tycoon. My point is that just having d connection with people in power is not enough 2 propel u to a billionaire status, but u urself have 2 be creative n business saavy enough to know that just knowing those people in power can be a great opportunity that u can use n maximize 2 build great wealth 4 urself n it's not everybody that can know n utilize this opportunity. It's not an easy task, we just have learn from them ![]() |
babyosisi: You are celebrating ra.pe?He doesnt mean showing her private part in court . A picture of her private part taken by the police during d time of her reporting this case 2 d police always serves this purpose in court. Also a gynecologist would have also been in court to testify is she sustained some injuries on her private parts due rape by looking at d pictures evidence presentation made in court . If ever she was raped, I'm not sure that d police did a professional enough job to collect enough evidence 2 convict this monarch. |
passion007: Ignorant people on this thread. |
I commend d govt on their efforts on this project do far. I hope they'll also add modern forensic labs as part of this project because w/o a modern forensic lab our police today will still be a relics of d colonial police just like as this most of this building look like a relic of of the class room building in my village which d colonial masters built. I just wan ask, do d govt think that we don't have a taste for modern n exciting architecture when it comes to our public buildings? |
Clerverly: Out of 500 Billion naira Voted for Police Ministry. They could only come up with repainted buildings called renovation. Smh! Corruption everywhere! Polluted air indeedYes! I see some crooks laughing all d way 2 d bank out of this project they call renovations |
I hope this will be replicated in all police colleges across the nation
Exactly! No state should be left out |
mbulela: As a hotel guest,I'll make do with the scenery of V/I and Ikoyi instead of that of Mushin and Surulere.Thats exactly what i'm saying....hotels in Mushin n Surulere have lost a dear hotel guest like u n these cities have lost n are bound to lose more hotel guests who would have contributed to the growth of their local economy just by staying in hotels in their cities, but they have unfortunately lost them because of the deplorable n uninspiring landscape scenery of their cities. This is why these cities can only compete with VI n Ikoyi for good hotels locations if only they can invest in replanning their city landscape n scenery |
i can swear this comment qot me crackinq¡ she is preqqy for her hubby and you label her cheap, what is your defination of cheap bros?!
I know right! If she no marry b4 getting pregnant, am sure she'll be labelled a prostitute. Some people can't just be pleased no matter what u do. Smh! |
mbulela: I agree with you up to a point. The fact is that most of the hotel customers in lagos are here for business and not pleasure,so the scenery does not matter as much as safety and proximity to business centre. They want to be close to the MNCs they are visiting for business purposes so that they are not trapped in traffci and miss their meetings. Besides going back to your hotel room after 9pm meetings is no big deal. Try heading back to your 5 star hotels in those mainland areas after dark.I think u have a good point here, but let me hint 2 u that d definition of pleasure can be very broad, but in this context, let me just limit d meaning of pleasure as something that relaxes or calms u down. Eg, do know that same way that la music track u listen 2 can make 2 feel relaxed/calm or happy, looking at a picture, work of art or landscape scenery can give also give same effect as music or anything that gives u pleasure or makes u to feel calm or relaxed. K, do u know why houses in highrise complexes in places like Manhattan or New York are really expensive? because real estate agents advertise those high rise complexes as "a complex with a view," because they know that most people derive great pleasure from viewing an interesting landscape scenery from their window, so they'd pay anything 2 live in a complex with an interesting scenery when they look out through their window. With my points above, u can agree with me that hotel guests can also derive great pleasure being in hotel rooms that has an interesting scenery when they look thru their hotel room windows and enjoy d lanscape scenery that they see. Infact, an interesting landscape scenery can make them feel more calm n relaxed b4 or after they attend to their business obligations 4 d day n this feeling can help to boost their productivity 4 d day. Though, hotel guest might not obviously tell u that they enjoy staying in hotels with an interesting scenery, but hoteliers should know that a good scenery is part if d psychological package that makes a hotel room worth staying in ![]() |
Gbawe: The main problem is that property developers and Hoteliers, because it is their cash, conduct feasibility studies for project viability. For many reasons the Island win as an attractive site for the most prestigious hotel projects. I concur that it would be desirable to spread 'grandeur' but the Government and ordinary Nigerians have no say in what hoteliers and developers do.I understand n agree with most of ur points here, I just want 2 hint that d govt can shift d perceptions of hoteliers siting of their hotels by giving some incentives like tax breaks etc...but I think one major thing from govt n ordinary citizens that can make hoteliers build 5-star hotels in areas like Makoko n Surulere is that those areas have replan d scenery of their environment, so they can looked uniquely planned aestethically n also shoul have good access roads to major cities, business locations n major tourist attractions on d state. U know there's nothing like being in ur hotel room n look out thru ur window become enchanted by what u see thru ur window. Also d scenery people see thru d window of their hotel rooms is one major way that they can feel d soul n spirit of d city they're in. |

emmysenior: This is the right time to know if the CCTV security cameras are actually working...I totally agree with ur various points here. One of d main fault of our naij system is that we like to gorge n swallow every western system, but we lack d discipline to smoothly digest n imbibe these new systems into the cultural fabric of our society, so it's professional n works like it works in d western societies. Eg, like u hinted, using the information from d CCt Cameras installed in Abuja, I wonder how the law enforcement in naija will use all these information to forensically fish out d culprits behind this attack. This one is a true test of system n d govt better not Bleep up on this one again ![]() |
