segunjowo:ofcourse, why not.it depends on how desirous you are. you can start as a distributor or you can lease a factory.you look for factories that are ready to throw in the towel.i believe these options will solve your need of being a CEO. |
Madam L , Karbaka and the Huz as a new man in the pure water biz i am having some challenges aspa customer demand ATWAP approved price for my locality/zone is N80 per bag but some big customers with capability of buying up to 300bags /month are asking for N60/bag. this is because some producers from neighboring ATWAP Zones were prices per bag are less (N60) are crossing over to our zone to sell at N60. my challenge is that, this customers are willing to patronize me if and only if i sell at N60per bag but then i have ATWAP to face thereafter. i really don't want to be mischievous. Huz which marketing strategy shud i deploy so that no one will get hurt. should i want to sell at N60per bag do you think i can make good profit
where is your location? There are many factors to consider if you are to drop price namely proximity, quantity, capacity and cash. proximity- the distance between your factory and the market.the closer the BETTER. Quantity-how many will the customer buy,the more the better. capacity-how many can your truck carry, the more the better, the lesser fuel consumed. cash- if cash the better because it will increase and fasten your turnover. Finally, for me i think 300bag/month is a poor deal. |
DEBOLABI:A simple and interesting plan ,sure could be approved BUT i think 1, the toilet has to be moved. 2, that exit in production room leads to where? am afraid you have to close it for your own good. 3, i did not see space for office.why? |
tahbahalif:people obtain this request when they drop their email address. |
i am new to this site but have been able to go thru all the trend on the water biz as posted by kabarka, madam L and others. i want to sincerely thank all especially kabarka and madam L for their great contribution and open mindedness. God is using this site/trend to create JOB and Wealth for Nigerians + others i have a pure water factory which started sales on 1st Sept 2011 with the following facilities on ground 2. trucks for delivery 1. sealing machine. daily sales looks good for now as a beginner but my concern is that the sealing machine horizontal heater meter is always having fault weekly thereby resulting to leakage and improper sealing. moreso, the technician leaves far away from my factory and sometimes difficult to get hold of him to fix the problem this cud possibly leads to Non productive time. HUZ how do i handle this concern.
@st.mera Yes that can really waste your time as a beginner. But there is nothing much in handling that yourself, when you manage to get someone that will fix the problem, pay close attension to what the person is doing,e.g loosing of nuts at both ends of the two rods, how the teflon is attached with abro tape to the rod,how to change positions of the teflon to maximize the surfaces. it does'nt worth it to stop production because of this though it can be troublesome sometimes but the earlier you try the better control you have there. if your operator cant handle this,do not depend on him when the repairer comes.go there and watch so that when such thing repeats, you can direct them on what to do. YOU ARE THE ONE THAT PAYS,your WORKERS CARE ONLY ABOUT THEIR SALARY. |

Laalamed:That's what we are talking about. |
h |
that's ok. |
All pure water companies pay as a form of tax to ministry of environment annually. They are given basket and sticker as evidence of payment. Now because there's inadequate monitoring which has always been the problem with NIGERIA,polythene bags are all over the places. Look into any blocked drainage system, what do you see? Only pure water sachet? If pure water should be banned then other consumables like bread, biscuit etc shld follow. if you want to know more about PURE WATER BUSINESS,click below https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-418542.0.html |
dubliu:This is what made the city of calabar, what it is today. it is possible in any city in Nigeria if we believe. if the right policies and it IMPLEMENTATION is diligently carried out. |
@ Natasha nice work here. The problem with sachet pure water littering cannot be solved by banning. In Nigeria some people think of banning because we have just graduated from military to civilian. Banning is a military tendency and it will never solve the problem of littering. For me BANNING AND DESTRUCTION no matter how good intentioned CAN NEVER HELP OUR ECONOMY. Having said that, the actual problem is waste management and attitude of end users as can be confirm from this poll. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-418542.0.html |
shawonlese:yes, you can get it from GENA PLASTIC LIMITED, Port-harcourt. give me a call. |

madam L:Yes madam L,there is something new about to happen in my end. As a matter of fact ATWAP in my state has decided to make one bag of pure water #100. Am a member of 8 man committee set up to draft the Roadmap to follow. It is part of things that keep me very busy. I will need ideas from people that have sustained this in their state. |
here are the views of current scrap. still available This has been sold on 17-11-2011,it is no longer available.thanks
|
Still available @ a lesser price.Current Pix to be posted soon. |
Actually it is aganist the law to produce while awaiting nafdac no. Your final decision will depend on how serious nafdac officials are in your state. In our own time, what people do is to put fake number while awaiting for their number But we didn't do that. We left the space blank. When customers asked us,we told them,we were undergoing registration, that our number will soon come out. As a result of this constraint,we restricted our movement to a particular area where we won't be apprehended. But when the number came,we reached out with force. |
@mekaoseka, This is one of few BEST REPLY that i have come across on NL. Thanx |
Congratulations @ HEAL let me mention that HEAL is the person i refered to in my last post.Thanx 4 keeping to your word. About staffing, What madam L posted is the way it is.This is the standard staffing obtainable especially if you are financially balanced. It is what anybody with sound managerial skill will do naturally. There is nothing wrong with it.But remember that as our factories are different so is our experiences in the business, for that i will give you OPTIONS to choose from.It is upto you to choose the one that best suit you at your level, at the moment. PRODUCTION DEPT As i said earlier, what madam L posted is perfectly okay,it is what every intelligent investor will do but look at this:- As a starter,if you can get a packer who can operate,it means you employ 2 instead of considering 3. Then 1 person that will take the packed bags to the finish product room Secondly, assuming you are available. You can teach yourself for the mean time how to operate the machine.Start by knowing where and how to lubricate the parts, proceed to how to mount the rolls. Then how to change teflon. And control of vertical and horizontal temperature. These will give you a lot of control in prod dept and save money too.No worker will be able to play pranks on you or hold you hostage. There is no big deal about automatic sealing machine, anybody can learn it.Why i stress you knowing a little about operation of this machine is because of control and power. This is good for anyone starting at your level. This is not oil company, minimize expenses as early as possible. Marketing Dept Option 1, You can do this yourself if you can, with one person. That one person should be able to know, and relate with the customers so that if you pair him with a driver, your business goes on. it will give you absolute control in the market place for you know the customers one on one. Option 2, Shop for a competent driver and a motor boy.let them know the important of collaborative work. Tell them to always come down together to drop the goods. make them work as a team. Since you are new,you may not have a rush market but when your market increases, make motor boy 2 so that they be faster.make sure there is need for the second person to come in. Option 3, i call this the picking of brains and that is what Madam L described below. It does not come easy but if it comes your way grab it. Payment; check the payment mode in your area first.then consider if any modification will give you edge to be continued |
