jl115:I agree that the shows a lack of funding for the army, but what can the army really do if the political leadership isn't coming forth with the required funds? I commend the army, they want troops to ride in armour. Instead waiting and wailing endlessly for armour that might not come, use what is available. |
The Nigerian army most likely do not have spare parts for engines, transmission and chassis, so they found a way out. MOWAG Piranha APC of the Nigerian Army on truck. The vehicles won't go entirely to waste. This here shows funds is an issue for the army, and the army is thinking outside the box. Are these vehicles ideal, No, but giving the current situation where we find ourselves we must fully exhaust our current capabilities.

I was able to track the company Nigerian Navy SBS purchase their kit from. Bulletproof vests, pouches and tactical handgloves. UK tactical. Many Special forces units in Europe purchase from them too. You can check out their Instagram page below. https://instagram.com/uktacticalofficial?igshid=1g2q72g41ge6

bidexiii:The 3 soldiers, I mean Nigerian army should try for these guys abeg. |
bidexiii:For real, OK, let's not compare with Europe, they have by far more money than us. What about Senegal, Uganda and Kenya soldiers. Always well kitted. |
Toju200:What sort of rubbish are you writing. Who told you all the Navy and Air Force guys in the field are special forces? NAF Regiment is not a special forces unit, it is the ground combat unit of the Air Force. It is the Panthers that are commandos, the red berets. NAF Regiment is modeled after RAF Regiment. You do yourself some good by researching properly before making comments. |
bidexiii:You see, things get worn out after long usage, so you replace them. If you send me to war 2 years ago with shining new equipment, won't they have gone bad? It is your responsibility to replace and provide me with appropriate equipment. Look at all the operational pictures provided by the military, 93% of troops always lack at least one basic equipment. A very large percentage of the others look like Ojota touts. I also agree with you on discipline, our troops need to show proper discipline for real. There is always something missing with regards to proper discipline of Nigerian soldiers. |
bidexiii:Nigerian army needs to do better abeg. You take care of your soldiers and they would have no excuse not to deliver. Look at Airforce and Navy guys in the field, always looking like very professional soldiers. Army guys look like rebels, unprofessional and untrained rebels. |
Toju200:You're talking crap, brother. How can this many Nigerian soldiers on operation be looking like this? Do you think this is what professional soldiers dress like?
|
Toju200:Can you prove this? Provide evidence. Where is the evidence the Nigerian army properly kits her personnel. You can provide boots once, then that's it. Bullet proof is now becoming nonexistent for front line soldiers. Like I told you in the other thread, always back your comments with facts, in other to avoid mockery. |

blacKDalia:There are so many things the army is not providing for front line troops. Appropriate uniforms, bulletproof vests, combat boots so many, many basic things. You see a Navy guy in the field, you see an Air Force personnel, and you wonder if army guys are from Chad. |
nemesis8u:Is there any English language documentary on the Tejas LCA? If yes, can you share it? |

nemesis8u:After so many periods of asking, despite the fact that you replied my comments on those previous occasions but you never answered my question. Now I can say you have provided a satisfactory answer. Although you still misrepresented my comments, I didn't just say Libya, I always mentioned Syria and Libya and the perceived poor performance of the Pantsir. I still don't think the Pantsir has performed well in both battlefields. However your response did go a long way to provide some answers.

CAPACITY BUILDING: NAF TRAINS ANOTHER BATCH OF FLIGHT NURSES, AIRCREW FOR AEROMEDICAL EVACUATION OF CRITICAL PATIENTS In continuation of efforts to further boost the capacity of personnel for the effective and efficient conduct of Aeromedical Evacuation missions to airlift wounded soldiers from various theatres of operation as well as other critical patients to appropriate treatment facilities, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has trained another batch of flight nurses and aircrew. The graduation of the 20 nurses and 4 loadmasters took place at the NAF Base Kaduna today, 29 May 2020, after 2 weeks of intensive training that involved theoretical and practical sessions at the NAF School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine (NAFSMSAM) Kaduna as well as simulation exercises using the C-130H aircraft, configured for Aeromedical Evacuation. Specific areas covered during the 2-week training include Aerospace Physiology, Crew Resource Management, Aircrew Complements and Duties, Enplaning and Deplaning Procedures, Infection Control in Aviation, In-flight Patients Care and Aviation Safety, amongst others. The graduation ceremony featured a demonstration where the participants and crew of the NAF C-130H aircraft simulated the care and management of in-flight patients. Speaking during the graduation ceremony, the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command (AOC ATC), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Musa Mukhtar, while expressing his satisfaction with the well-executed simulation exercise, noted that the training was in line with one of the Key Drivers of the Vision of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, which focuses on “human capacity development through robust and result-oriented training for enhanced professional performance”. He remarked that the participants had undoubtedly benefited immensely from the training. He therefore charged them to make good use of what they had learnt to add value to operations as they return to their various units. AVM Mukhtar stressed that they must also be ready to put their new skills to the test in providing services to the Nation, should the NAF be called upon to evacuate critically ill patients, as may be required in furtherance of the NAF’s constitutional role of providing military aid to civil authority. He seized the opportunity to commend the NAF Medical Services Branch for the steps it had been taking to upgrade the skills of its personnel to meet current and emergency healthcare challenges. The highlight of the ceremony was the elaborate simulation exercise, which showcased the skills acquired by the participants in evacuating critical patients, in this case COVID-19 patients, from originating medical facility to a destination medical facility whilst ensuring effective communication between both facilities and providing en-route medical care with specialized on-board life support equipment, including patient monitors and ventilators. The participants were therefore appropriately kitted in their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and all personnel as well as the aircraft and surrounding areas were decontaminated at the points of departure and arrival, while the entire area was cordoned off. The exercise also demonstrated the intricate patients’ handover and takeover process as well as the delicate enplaning and deplaning procedure aimed at ensuring optimal care. Today’s graduation brings to 40 the number of NAF personnel trained for the Aeromedical Evacuation of critical case patients using the C-130H aircraft, with 16 trained just over a month ago. Also present at the event were the Commandant NAFSMSAM as well as other senior NAF officers.
