1. The first step to take after the purchase of your land is to call a licensed Surveyor to help you produce the survey plan. A survey is a document which shows the total area of the land you have purchased (in square metre), location of the land, name of the land owner etc.
For example, a 450 square metre land is equivalent to 1 plot, a 600 square metre is 1.33 plots etc

2. There is the need to consult an Architect for your Building design/drawing. It is important because a proposed building should have a plan. That is what should precede whatever structure one intends putting on the land. Also, for approval of the building from the town planning unit of the local council area, the architectural design must be provided. You start by entering into a dialogue with him/her and giving your brief.
Note: The drawing must be sealed by a registered Architect

3. There may be need to provide a structural drawing especially if the structure to be built is a multi-storey structure/duplex/framed building/sky scrapper etc. That can only be provided by a Structural Engineer

4. To be able to manage effectively the cost implication of the proposed structure, a client should consult a registered Quantity Surveyor (cost estimator) to give a detailed costing of the entire elements of the building from the foundation level to roof level. This will ensure you to have a clear view of how the project is going to span when the budget have been adequately put in place.

5. If it is a big project (not a residential building), the services of service Engineers (Mechanical and Electrical) is needed since the piping and electrical system will be run systematically for those kind of projects.

6. lastly, the Professional that will help to bring the client's dream of owning a befitting home to reality is a Builder. By virtue of the training he/she may have passed through both academically and professionally, he interpretes all the drawings and documents produced by the above stated professionals to manage the building production process. He monitors and supervises the Artisans and Craft men on site to ensure compliance with those drawings and specifications.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to summarize and effectively point out how each of these professionals fare in the construction industry.

amen. Congratulations
Majesticniyi:

To God be the glory for the the great thing He does.
The whole story started early 2017. My work is shift based and tends to be monotonous hence, I tend to join various WhatsApp groups to pass time especially on night shift. I cant even remember how I came to join an Ielts group. All I know is one day, someone dropped the link to the Canada group and I joined not knowing what it was all about. I was just existing till I voiced one out day to ask what the whole thing is about and an angel came into my PC and broke it all down to pieces. God bless you Dami *twales for her*

IELTS: This was the first step I took. I somehow didn’t believe all these was for real but I had cash to spare. I was studying basically to see if I could pass it and then go on to other processes. Went on leave at work, secluded myself in a suburb part of Abeokuta and studied like I was crazy. For upcoming test takers, please avoid naysayers and pessimists who keep ringing failure into your head. It is a difficult exam, no doubt but those wey pass am no get two heads. Stay positive and focused. If you didn’t make it at first, try again but firstly analyze why you didn’t get it and study hard to overcome the difficulty. IELTS really needs practice and study!

ECA: This was the part where I got stuck. I was single then and so evaluated my BSc alone. It was a smooth journey with UI an I was done in record time. I jumped into the pool with a CRS of 438 in the later part of the year. I didn’t bother evaluating my OND as 438 was a great score then….till I jumped into the pool late November and IRCC decided to finish me by having draws of 440+. See me see wahala *lol*. I stalled till I gave up and eventually evaluated my OND. This decision was even more important as I was about getting married and I didn’t want to add wifey later (read scary stories online of how those who did and got delayed). Wifey evaluated her BSc too and gbam, CRS of 447 eventually by July 2018.

Medical: This was the scariest part of the application to me. Something kept telling me I have HIV and I would not pass medical. Omoh, I became a legend on medical inadmissibility. I downloaded so much materials, I can successfully be employed as a Canada Health official. Eventually, I passed. By the way, I work in a food processing company and I do quarterly food handlers test so I should have known I was safe anyway. More so, the new threshold makes it even less complicated for people with health issues

POF: Advice for those who let this pull them back; learn to trust God. He opens doors for those who are hungry enough to continually knock. Getting POF was a miracle for me. I used 25% of pension funds, fixed an amount for six months and added my bank statement. The case review agent eventually added even the money in the account to my POF even though I didn’t list it in my LOE. By the way, an higher exchange rate than I used was employed in calculating my POF so it was way too much than I anticipated. I got to know this because I ordered GCMS note last month

GCMS NOTE: I ordered out of frustration when it seemed nothing was ongoing on my file despite eligibility haven started early October (knew this by calling). Eligibility was still being reviewed even as at last week Monday when I called. Eligibility was passed and security done between then and yesterday when I got ghost update.

Lastly, someone said prayer is useless on this journey. To each nan his own but I know the 21 days prayer and fasting just concluded by the Winners Family gave me strength, hope and made things happen. God indeed works miracles…me wey never even go Ghana before just get access to Canada goodies cheaply like this.

Note to The Professor, abeg na joke say I wan make you jealous oh. I don’t even know how I passed my writing test fah. Mark me well oh, biko.

Lagos, here I am….

Thanks to all well wishers. May good news never cease in our dwelling

People have gotten PPR with multiple visa denials. Just state it in the form Post-ITA.

Use your BSc and PGD for two or more certificates. Finally, please get acquainted with page 1, all the answers you seek are there.

Congratulations to the house members that newly got their PPR, COPR, ITA.
I'm so proud to be part of this gathering of ambitious people.

At the same time, i need to say this to the house that i'm a bit scared about this program because i applied for a b1/b2 tourist visa(USA) for my family last year. We(myself, wife and a kid) went for the visa interview at walter carrington around June but unfortunately we were not given. I do not want my effort on this PR thing to be in vain, the more reason i need to be sure my usa visa denial will not in any way affect this lovely program i am about to embark on.

Secondly, I am a Builder by profession. I have B.sc and a PGD in Civil Engr. I am professionally certified with NIOB(Nigerian Institute of Building). I remember reading it somewhere that a msc is equivalent to the professional qualification. My question is: Which is going to earn me more point(s), PGD or the professional certificate. I will be the principal applicant.

Over to my learned members in the house. Thanks in anticipation

Good day to members of this forum. I am a new comer here on the PR/EE thread so permit my errors perhaps i'm not using the abbreviations well. I am still learning. I have a request please and this goes to the newcomers like me in the house that have not written their IELTS but are preparing towards writing. We can start to carry ourselves along, guiding each other(since basically we are on the same stage/level) and having that believe of togetherness thereby growing our level of confidence. Though i don't want to breach the number 22 rule guiding this platform. I don't know how to do this. Please i need us to act on this. Thanks and God bless us all

Why won't he That's what they call superiority. Forget about being a professor. Fayose is a professor of politics while Olusola is a professor of building.
TMemos:
This guy just dey kneel down anyhow.

I don't like the way Fayose orders him around like a school boy. 'Sit down'. 'Stand up'. 'Bring your head' grin grin

It may be that Eleka just playing along or pretending but Fayose is not respecting the man's dignity at all. A whole professor!
