Sam Hart, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has hinted that former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi, may be chosen as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate in the 2019 general elections.

Hart, who took part in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary election in Port Harcourt, the Rivers s

State capital, posted a picture with Obi on his Twitter feed and described him as the “likely VP”.

“A good day to flaunt relationship with likely VP Okwute. Taken minutes ago in PH.

“He said he was hungry and we went to grab a meal. Crowd queued up to famz him,” he wrote.

Atiku, who won the primaries on Sunday, is yet to announce who he will campaign with ahead of next year’s polls.

The Presidency on Sunday reacted to the emergence of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate ahead of the 2019 elections.

Atiku scored 1532 votes to beat 12 other contestants who had vied for the party’s sole ticket.

The PDP’s National convention chaired by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State held in Port Harcourt between 6th and 7th October 2018.

However, in a swift reaction, Buhari’s Aide on New Media, Lauretta Onochie, while congratulating Atiku, said his emergence has made APC’s job easy.

Officer Cadet Chia Diko Detimbir is that 14 yr old boy who discovered the Nigerian Air Force Dornier 228 aircraft which crashed on the Ngokugh Hills, Mbakunu Shangev -ya Local Govt Area of Benue State 12 years ago.

On Sunday 17th September 2006, a Nigerian Air Force plane Dornier 228 conveying Senior Millitary personnel to Obudu for a conference crashed at Ngokugh Hills, Mbakunu Shangev-ya in Kwande LGA of Benue state killing 13 of the officers while 5 of them were rescued courtesy of a telephone call from the crash site by Chia Diko Detimbir who led a rescue operation that saved the survivors.

Today, we join friends and well meaning Nigerians to celebrate the victory of a vibrant young man who has not only proven to be brave and courageous but also strong, hard working and determined. Tension is currently brewing among members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo Central district over the sudden disappearance of members of the electoral committee assigned to conduct the Senatorial primary election.

Wiki9ja recalls that the primary elections in the three Senatorial districts billed to hold on Tuesday were later postponed till Wednesday due to late arrival of electoral materials and officials.

Though, the results of the primary elections in both Oyo North and Oyo South which saw the emergence of Senator Abdulfatai Buhari and Governor Abiola Ajimobi respectively have been announced, the election in Oyo Central district as of the time of filling this report on Wednesday has not commenced.



This development has created palpable tension among members of the party.

It was also gathered that members of the ruling party are currently in fear due to the sudden disappearance of the electoral committee members, whom it was learnt, left Akinyele venue of the primary election unannounced.

Wiki9ja gathered that at about 8.00 p.m. on Wednesday, the team set up by the National Working Committee left when the venue became rowdy and delegates threw stones over perceived imposition of a candidate.

Six (6) aspirants obtained the forms and were cleared by the party to contest the Oyo central senatorial race.

They include: Senator Teslim Folarin; Hon. Temitope Olatoye, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Mr. Bimbo Kolade, Engineer Faozey Oladotun, Mr Oyedemi Wakil Oyeleru and Hon. Oluokun George Akintola.

For making a romantic pass at his mum, a man killed his friend and walked into a police station with the severed head of a man he was accused of murdering.

The brawl which turned into a gruesome nightmare, began at a festival in India which the two men identified as Giresh and Pashupati attended. Eyewitnesses alleged that the horrific incident, which occurred in an “isolated spot” in Mandya city, India, was linked to Giresh’s romantic feelings towards the younger man’s mother. It was further gathered that murder, ended a a three-year-long feud.

24-year-old Pashupati who chopped off 36-year-old Giresh’s head, reportedly drove 20km on his bike to Mandya city and walked into a police station with the severed head. Pashupati who has been arrested on suspicion of murder, was spotted in a viral video walking through the streets with the bloody head.

Superintendent of Police Shivaprakash Devaraj, who confirmed his arrest said:

“We are investigating the incident, but the accused and the victim were good friends.

“It appears that the victim died in the morning, just before his head was brought to the station. “Pashupathi informed the police officials that Girish spoke ill of his mother, which triggered a fight between the two.”

The flood incident which has been witnessed in some states across Nigeria, left residents of some Delta communities, swimming to their houses.





The flood reportedly rendered 5,000 people homeless, and also destroyed hectares of farmlands and properties worth millions of Naira. Affected Delta Communities include: Akemu and Asarueha camps, Odabor all in Ikpide-Irri riverine community; Uzere, Ivrogbo-Irri, Araya, Emede, Umeh, among other communities in Isoko South local government area.

Residents of the communities who have passionately appealed to corporate bodies, spirited individuals and all relevant authorities to send relief materials to them, were spotted in photos gaining access to their homes either by swimming or by boats.

On the other hand, an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Emede and Ozoro, Isoko South and Isoko North local government areas of the state, have been opened by the State Government to cater for displaced persons.

Senator Hope Uzodinma has defeated Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu to win the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial ticket.

Uzodinma recoreded 423,895 votes to pick the party’s ticket in the election conducted on Tuesday.

Nwosu came seventh with just 10, 329 votes.

The result was signed by the returning officer, Ahmed Ali Gulak.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that Gulak disappeared from his hotel room and his whereabouts unknown.

This was after he had addressed newsmen about 11.30 Monday night, where he announced the postponement of the election to Tuesday.

Gulak was said to have abandoned his hotel room, leaving other members of the committee behind.
