You know our Nigerian society remains anti-women. One of our family helper’s wife just left him to raise 5 children by himself. The wife decided she was done with the marriage and preferred “women companionship”! The man is doing a wonderful job. With more men becoming single parents, they will learn to be respectful. Give them time.

This remains a major issue in many marriages. Men trivialise the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual labour women bring in. Some while contributing financially. If these kids were with the woman, they will still mock her for being a single mother and say she cannot raise quality kids. But single fathers do not actively raise the kids. They still depend on the female community (mother, sister, another wife) around them to do the raising.

Just like the women rely on uncles, brothers and boyfriends to assist. No one can raise children single-handily. You must get help. Ned Nwoko is raising his children himself abi? Very easy for men and women to mock single mothers ke, till they on the receiving end.
