Life is hard and it is very hard to be positive in your position. But whatever life throws at you, try to keep a positive attitude. Cheers! ![]() |
Honestly, I am curious to ask how people do interviews on jobs before remote became a thing. |
To approve is human, to implement is divine. |
Adonisty:Experienced kwa. ![]() Let's say you are a react developer. I would expect you to be familiar with popular react state management systems and react reactor alongside ability to design with css. For your question, make your own research. |
Adonisty:. Since you asked. One, you need a positive attitude. You see what you just typed is false. You are only saying that because you hear people say that either on Twitter or here on NL. Most people who are working don't have time to argue online or have opinions or AI or whatnot. It's only celebrity developers who earn true having opinions online that say those, many of them are not even developers and we all know AI is a buzzword that will always generate traffic. I once spoke with a founder of a small company and the way the guy spoke, you'd think he's the next Linus Torvalds but he can't code shi.t. These are people you probably listen to. But if you have evidence to prove your say aside dem say, I will be happy to hear it. Secondly, you need to work hard. You need to build project and keep learning. Then you need to start applying to job. You should make it your duty to refresh job sites on a daily to check for jobs that you meet the requirements. |
Adonisty:It's a dairy. You can't. |
tensazangetsu20:I find it funny when nigerians guys are fuming about the child support law. I love and support that law. If you can impregnate a girl, you should be able to atleast father the child for 18 years. A certain Obi cubana had a child with a keyan woman, he neglected the child and has refused to do DNA test. What sort of wizardry is that? Even people wey get responsible papa still dey feel the struggles of this life. |
Adonisty:I read your post on how you are finding it hard to break into tech. What you need is to change your approach. I don't know what you are doing but you are doing it wrong. Even if you acquire an extra degree, no one will hand you a role in tech if you are not competent. You need to take the tech thing serious, learn the trade. Bad as it may be in 2025, people are sending rejection letters to HRs because they got offers from another company on twitter. |
I love that older white women are open to this. The cultural difference between us and whites is huge and interesting. Nigerian girls don't even want to marry their agemates. ![]() |
TheWitchKing:His case is slender. |
tensazangetsu20:Agbado is a brain tumor. Just neglect the dude. |
lastkingsman:Normal jobs in nigeria have 2 to 3 interview stages. The good thing is that not all are technical. |
money. |
Omo! |
One thing about church is, if you keep at it, do it very well and are good at it. One day, you go blow. Now na this man's turn. |
tensazangetsu20:For here, one person for don steal everything. ![]() |
We should commend a woman for taking care of her rich husband. Abegii ![]() |
Dahyur119:I doubt if the role is still available. You can call the recruiter to be sure though. |
@Groupoid I would prefer to stay an extra year and graduate with 2.1. Honestly, 2.1 is better than 2.2 in the job market. That's a fact! But if you don't go on probation and you end up graduating with 2.2, its not the end of the world. Skills and experience trump any class of degree, any day anytime. For now, I think you should focus on learning a skill. I am not saying you should combine skill acquisition with your studies because you obviously need to study very hard for the few months you have left. But make the ground works, search for skills you can learn and maybe do an introductory lesson on it to get a feel. Everybody is suggesting coding these days but I think there are easier skills you can learn that will start making you money in months. But you need to make your research and learning should be after graduation. I wouldn't want you to end up losing in both ends especially in your academics. Trust me, after school there will be a lot of time. I think the big problem you have before you is your age. 27 after NYSC is a big disadvantage, I will not lie to you. Granted by then you may be too old for a lot of graduate trainees but times are changing now, a lot of companies are now abolishing age limits, aside this, graduate trainee is not the only way to work for a multinational. You can get experience and apply to these same companies through normal recruitment process. Your main focus should be skills that would make you employable and experience in those skills. The course you are studying is a good one too. I like that. It will make you fit in many roles in this job market. ![]() Lastly, please stop with the regrets and self-pity. It leads no where. Honestly, it's pointless. |
Groupoid:No wahala. Go ahead. |
pansophist:You are married? |
