Nazgul: Lol...so you've pushed the blame back to me.
The latest is I'm not good with logics. Oga you're a hypocrite. Accept it with your full chest.
You critized me for the same words you repeated. Don't try to twist it. Cos if you were a politician in a civilized country, this can cost you an election. People would see you as a double faced person. So stop trying to save face by telling me I don't understand logic and learn to defend what you stand for. That's what integrity is all about. That's if you even know what it means. I will advice you to take a simple logic (and philosophy) online class to avoid future embarrassments. |

The hypocrisy of most of you Nairalanders stink.
See the evidence below. Your problem is you are not very good with logics. |

if there were no broke doctors, why is there a japa wave?
how many doctors do you actually know?
the only time when doctors were really paid well on average was during the obj years when obj initiated conmess To most nigerians, 200k is great money. This explains the reasoning. I can't blame them too, most nigerians don't earn more than 150k/month till they die. |

Controller based routing is a terrible idea.
Imagine an app that has 200 routes, now you will have to go to each controller file to know which route actually exists.
Please put your routes in a separate file. |

tosinhtml: Just to confirm my understanding, I assume your project consists of three layers:
API Layer – Fetches data from the API. Data Layer – Processes data, implements business logic. UI Layer – UI from Figma that displays data and handles user inputs / animations.
If only the Dashboard UI is changing while the API and Data Layer remains the same, why is the Project Manager maintaining three separate repositories for a single project?
Wouldn't a theming system be a better approach? A structure where UI components for each of the three dashboards are stored in sub-folders while still consuming the same API/endpoint?
If my assumption is correct, the Project Manager may not fully grasp the benefits of using a single repo. It might help to explain the advantages clearly, because his resistance could come from a lack of understanding rather than preference.
To even go further: Whenever they make a change on 1 repo due to API changes, it means they need to replicate that change on 2 other repos. WHY? It does not make sense. The repo has 2 layers, we are not consuming an external api. Its the business logic and the ui layer which already have 2 separate github repos, now the dummy project manger created 3 repos per layer, making it a total of 6 DIFFERENT REPOSITORIES! Just because it has 3 dashboards. That's the most rookie thing I have seen in my life and I have spent the past 3 posts explaining it to a guy who doesn't code on this thread why it's a terrible idea. It just reminds me of how a guy was arguing with a lawyer on Twitter and when they asked of his law degree, he said he learnt everything off suits series. The project uses 2 repos now because that nonsense cannot happen on my watch. |

MindHacker9009: Having 3 different repos is a good software engineering architectural design, this is why:
1. If one department wants a change or a new feature to their dashboard or any other part of their own project, this can be done and deployed with out having to stop the other departments when deploying to the production environment.
2. Different programming teams can work separately on their own project.
3. Access Control & Security: If each department's data and codebase need strict access control, separate repos make it easier to enforce.
4. Department-Specific Customization – If each department has significantly different workflows, business logic or UI requirements, separate repositories allow tailored development.
This type of architecture is called SOA or Microservices which are used for large enterprise applications.
So you can see now that na you sef don fail am and now wants to break a good software engineering architecture.
Nairaland is like a boxing ring, and once you throw the first punch, you don start the fight, so prepare for a return punch and na knockout remain All these things you listed are no enough reasons to split a project into multiple repos because it has more than one dashboard. Talking of microservices, if you are familiar with the tech community on Twitter, it's a pattern that has now been ditched for monolithic because is 'premature optimization' for most projects. The reason why people use microservices is to allow developers of different language work on a project. You are suggesting the exact thing you condemn in your write up. The fact that you can eat eba with fork doesn't mean you should. Keep it simple stupid and don't repeat yourself. |

MindHacker9009: 3 different repos because the figma has 3 different dashboards: Depends on if the dashboards are to be used by 3 different departments and the 3 have their own separate databases. Trust me, even if they are used by a million departments, all you need is a singular repo. You also don't need 3 different databases. JUST ONE! ONE!!!! If hypothetically, the project is now having 10s to 100s of million of data entries per day, then you would have to replan the application's structure but by then the project is probably a big success, in the league of Facebook, Instagram, ticktock and co and the owner is at least a millionaire in USD. You see say you sef don dey fail am , because you don't actually practice. I am assuming. Theoretical knowledge can only take you so far, that's why non-practionals should be humble when discussing with professionals. Just pulling your legs. I don't want fight abeg. |

It's the issue we are facing. One project I'm working on here and the so called project manager created 3 different repos because the figma has 3 different dashboards. I was totally against it and they set up an urgent meeting to discuss that. Can you imagine me trying to convince tech guys that that was a horrible decision. Such a waste of time and a guy who claim he is also a backend developer supported the funny idea, because he is a developer too. Their reasons are: scalability and its how things are done there. I be wan ask the guy to define scalability. I just had to calmy explain why it's a horrible idea because there's no point being rude. If you are learning this tech thing on your own, please go out and understudy seasoned professionals and if you are good please be loud. |

tensazangetsu20: I speak Spanish with a Chilean accent. Infact it was very instrumentable to me getting my bank job as my boss said she thought I was Chilean cause of the way I speak. This is very commendable. Learning is enough trouble, speaking like a native is like mission impossible. Nice one man. |
