Romance / Re: Why Majority Of Married Men No Longer Kiss Their Wives by Karleb(m): 8:47pm On Jan 12
eazzzy1:
Kissing is an habit that’s formed from repetition. If you kiss your partner every morning before you go to work and the evening when you return. It becomes a routine. It’s the same as saying I love you every time they or you are about to leave. Form the habit and it becomes automatic.

If you don’t kiss your partner it’s because you have formed the habit of not kissing them. Good thing is habits can be changed when there’s determination.

God bless you oga mi!

Same applies to sex, hugs, holding of hands etc.

African couples are generally not romantic. Many men marry to have children and to be taken care of while many women marry for financial security.

Give me children, prepare my food and clean my house, while I solve your important financial needs.

Even new couples don't kiss as often as they should.

Eventually, the marriage is reduced to duties and romance thrown out of the window.

I'm sure her main offense was that she didn't open her leg to someone or she didn't share her loot.

How can a 37 yr old lady be this bad?

Besides, TB has always been a suspect even before his death.

I’m without a job at the moment, a friend recommended a security 30k job with free food once a day . Pls would you advise I go for the job?

Start from there. But know at the back of your mind that what you are doing is charity.

Always be on the look out, when a better job comes, do not hesitate to leave.

Family / Re: How Do You Deal With Toxic Parents by Karleb(m): 2:49pm On Jan 10
Purvan:
Nlders with toxic parents, how long did you take you to realize the only solution is to cut contact?

For me , I had a desire to cut contact since my teens but I could never understand why and stayed in denial. I moved out in my early 20s and kept contact to minimum. It was only when I turned 30 that I had the courage to examine the past and accept that my parents used me as a punching bag for their personal failures in life.

Now I'm working on fixing it because I understand that they will not be around forever and I don't want to end our relationship on a bad note.

My advice is that you talk with them about it and explain how it harmed you. They might understand

Stop rewarding terrible attitudes.

Your parents are adults too, if they can't make efforts to mend the broken relationship then keep it at the bearest minimum till forever.

What about those cross border immigrants that are getting Temporary Protected Statues?

The problem is how to get there.

If to say Nigeria dey south America, no all of us go queue for border, enter and make sure democrats stay in power till the end of time.

The big problem is how to get to Mexico or Canada.

Business / Re: Do You Ever Feel Guilty Spending Lavishly Knowing Many Are Poor by Karleb(m): 5:09pm On Jan 09
optimusprime2:

You are very right!
Which further expands on the fact that due to the mixed bag one gets when addressing the issue of poverty(there are many reasons why people are poor and amongst those reasons Laziness is also one of the major reasons), one needs to be rather logical than sentimental in his overall outlook on spending money.

Moreover, it's the job of the government to deal with poverty, not you. Unless you are the government tho.

Poor people are also notorious for making poor choices, one of which is the choice of bad leadership.

Romance / Re: Romance Section Moderators Wanted by Karleb(m): 3:44am On Jan 09
Seun:
Ladies and gentlemen, the Romance section has gone to the dogs because of the inactivity of the current moderators.

We need 2 new moderators who are passionate about Romance and Nairaland, and can dedicate sufficient time to remove inappropriate content, ban people who break the rules, and create threads on hot topics to ensure that the Romance section attracts more engagement.

Most importantly, the war between men and women on this section must end. Women need to feel safe to participate and share their views in this section without being harassed by men. And vice versa. This requires consistent and unyielding enforcement of the rules every day.

If you know someone who is fit for this role, please nominate them. Someone who has been consistently active in this section for a long time, and who has not been a habitual rule-breaker during this time. If you're nominated, please indicate your acceptance and let's talk.

PS: Sorry, you can't nominate yourself. Someone must nominate you and then you can accept the nomination if you're interested. wink

While at it, do something about politics and programming section.

Also, put a leesh on your dog, anti spam bot.

These monikers are being run by one individual and he has constantly posted slanders against my person in 9 years. I believe you are NL's owner and can see his history. If I am lying, you should be able to tell, INNIT?

When are you giving us a block button?
If we have one, I wouldn't care about misogysm. I just block all of them and go my merry way.

I always thought it was just for the banter. Never knew this was deeper.
