Programming › Re: Which Most Demanding I.T/ Tech Skills One Can Learn? by Karleb(m): 6:00pm On May 15, 2025

With the ever-growing tech world, programming abilities are nowadays more valuable than ever. The most demanded ones include Python, due to its variety of uses in the web development, automation, data science, and AI. JavaScript is also indispensable, driving dynamic websites and full-stack applications on the basis of such popular frameworks as React and Node.js.

Skills in working with databases through SQL, as well as an understanding of cloud environments such as AWS or Azure, adds a lot to your value on the job market. DevOps skills with the combination with programming and automation and management of infrastructure are in very high demand as well.

Furthermore, the development of mobile applications (in Swift / Kotlin or cross-platform, for example, Flutter) is active, and the development for AI and machine learning is one of the fastest-growing areas.

After all, learning to work with the very core concepts of programming and using those in work with various technologies is the secret to staying applicable and demanded in the I.T. sector.

First thing that came to my head is SIP over WebRTC. Two use cases I see would for 1) monitoring sound from the examinees location and 2) two-way communication between the examinees and the invigilator.

Not something I've ever done but I can see why it could be needed. Is it the best option for just invigilation? It may be overkill I think. Something like a WebRTC with recording software (Oreka/Orecx) would be my preferred rather than heavyweight VoIP like Asterisk or Freeswitch.

Checkout Janus or Livekit for open source stuff that I think should be able to better handle it
Thank you bros.

Use media stream record and save the files of each students in Amazon s3 storages or Azure or wasabi or Google cloud to server. If you use Voip it is like initiating a call when the examination is going on and when the call ends you will store the records on cloud storage.
Thank you.

For this kind of drawn out screening, there's no way anyone is going to accept anything less than $180/hr. Most likely $200+ hourly. It's unnecessarily drawn out for an experienced Senior. Most seniors know the technical in so much depth that a Technical "test" will be very condescending.

Edit: I just looked at Diabolocom and see that it's a European (French) company. EU pays considerably less than North America, so offer may be significantly lower than what I quoted above in USD.
Bros, can you talk about voip in relation to audio procturing in online examination?

We have similar experience. I was on a scholarship in south Korea for my MSc in chemical engineering with good stipend then in 2019. I was told by my professor ( a Korean) that I should stay back and do business with him but I refused. My friends in Korea begged me not to leave but I didn't listen. I'm still working with government agency taking less than 200k as take home after tax.
I always cry anytime I remember this act. I'm still struggling to make it though by learning new things and even I tried to enter US last year November but my Visa was denied.
I put all my hope in Almighty Allah now sha.

I Left Nigeria in my mid 20s, completed my MSc with a fully funded scholarship in UK, the son of poor naija civil servants o! Used my two legs to come back to Nigeria. My European girlfriend discouraged me from returning, she told me we should get married, I said no, I struggled for over a decade believing hardwork and merit in Nigeria will get me there. I was interviewed many times by several government agencies in Nigeria but never got the job, today I sit in my 40s licking my wounds. My naija friends that were friendly while I was there have vanished. Some have humiliated me before leaving when it seemed to them the tunnel I am in has no end to it. grin My biggest undoing in life is I believed too much in this country. Today, my peers that stayed back in UK are doing very well as citizens. I am trying very hard not to give up. Still strategizing. It's hard but deep down in me, I know I have learnt so much. Too much to not make it in the end. I pray for God to grant me long life. cool
I came here thinking I have a problem, then I read these two comments. cry cry cry

Even if you are outside, it's hard too, tech isn't recruiting for coders like that, the few senior engineers with AI can reduce the need for alot of engineers, the alternative route is building a solution and servicing clients. the future just got dark quickly lol
Bros, this is not true. cheesy

There are still tech jobs in Nigeria. We can argue that the salary and work conditions are not the best but at least, tech still has more jobs than other sectors in Nigeria.

Go to jobberman, indeed, linkedin and hotnigerianjobs.

Refresh them daily and when you see a role that fits you, take time to apply. Write a convincing cover letter and send an optimized resume.
