The option to click on the ticker and buy/sell is disabled 9don't know why)

Use the Buy/Sell option from the main menu to transact...
Mfunkynation:
I have seen it there...
So does it means it can't be traded?

True. 10% to 15%.
In my case, the probate registrars were too lazy to make research that they simply used ₦1 for the SP of all the units.

Ended up paying less than 2% smiley

Mpeace:
It is not that difficult. It is just expensive.
Letter of administration will take like 15% of the cost of the shares depending on the state.
Then you identify the particular registrar for each company and make the necessary applications and fees for confirmation of the Letter of admin.
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom:
The share certificates should not be mandatory IF:

1. the deceased had only one stockbroker. Simply reach out to them for the dematerialization.
2. the deceased had CSCS online access. If not, you can create one if you have their CHN and CSCS account number.

However, if the holdings was all analogue, you'll have to do a search on the sec website for unclaimed dividends to ascertain the shares held.
The details you extract, will be used to contact the registrars.

You need to realize that the LA has to reflect ALL the shares held.
That means you have to update the LA after you have gotten the list of shares held.
Also, for you to be given attention, you have to be an administrator of the estate.

@ the bolded
Yes I have.
I didn't have to submit any share certificate because the deceased had only one stockbroker and an active CSCS online access so it was quite easy 😊

Hamachi:
Lol! Have you done it before? The process is overong, I should go and bring all share certificates? What?

📍
emmanuelewumi:
10% is not a good one in Nigeria.

The discount rate for Naira denominated asset is 20%

The difference between the ROIC and the discount rate of 20% multiplied by the Invested Capital will give you the Economic Value Advantage

Assuming a stock has equity of N30 billion and debt of N20 billion. The invested capital is N50 billion

If the Net Operating profit after tax is N20 billion...

The ROIC is 40%.

The economic value added or economic profit will be (40%-20%) multiplied by N50 billion

Which will give an economic profit of N10 billion.

If the ROIC is 10% for a Naira denominated asset, it will make a negative economic profit even though it made accounting profit. Thereby destroying value

Long term wealth creation ability of a stock is in the creation of Economic Value Advantage or economic profit

Badagry Creek FZE is the firm through which Mr Jadesimi holds his shares. AFS 2024 stated about 229m units (over 5.2%) which qualifies him or his rep for a seat on the board.

I don't think he'll sell just like that but...

Joyful365:
Since the previous chairman of Aradel Ladi Jadesimi retired, the stock has been almost on full offer above ₦520. In fact, the total offer is above ₦4.5 billion compared to bid around ₦400 million.

The enabling environment is what I'm talking about...
emmanuelewumi:
Government should not be running a business, they should create enabling environment that will make businesses to thrive

Government will make money from taxes, levies, dues and duties
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 10:25am On Aug 16, 2025
It's a sad reality in Nigeria that very few government-established and operated companies can match up with their peers internationally.

Even the few privately run ones are struggling to surmount the government instituted hurdles... sad
BabsO2:
Why the sales.? Why not operate them and make money.?
I think it takes corporate expertise to operate and build quality stakeholders that mint money and not lose money. My take is the sellers have concluded they ain’t got it (especially if it’s heavily tilted towards government ownership). And bet to sell the asset to someone who’s got it.

You have taken this marketing to another level.

As much as we cannot authenticate this chat, I really do not think posting it here is in the best interest of the 'MD'. There's something called libel... smiley

After my discussions with Chams MD this morning at Whatsapp ,I have decided to pick up my right and extra shares totalling 20m shares.

If chams right will be listed at above N3 market price,it means Loco will be in another 100% in chams by then.

This is a good short term investment too.

I am considering it

In summary, Cash and Equity exchanged hands (directly or indirectly)... grin
GeeKudi:
Ain't disputing this at all. I'm just correcting the notion that there was some cash exchange in the retrieval of those shares. There was none as per info. The shares were forfeited by debtors who couldn't pay cash to settle their debts to OANDO and I think the debtors are even entities related to Wale (maybe I should put allegedly on this?)

I quoted OJT from the AGM... smiley

Listen to the AGM from 2h1m28s:
- OandO had $930m equity
- $550m plus $85m was I quote "handed back to shareholders"
- Leaving about $350 equity

The bolded was the narrative we were fed with initially. I want to believe that the statement of the GCEO should supersede that one...

GeeKudi:
I'm not sure your assertion on the distributed shares is correct. They were retrived from company debtors, who incidentally, were also shareholders of the company in lieu of cash settlements. The shares were not paid for by OANDO.

Two major shareholders $635m ($550m + $85m)

Honestly, OandO tried.

Most companies would rather sell that volume of shares to another investor than distribute it to shareholders...
(
mikeapollo:
Again, he explained that Oando experienced negative equity balance because they had to refund to a former shareholder the equivalent of over $500m, otherwise there wouldn't have been negative shareholders fund.
The shares returned (by the former shareholders) are the ones now being redistributed to exisitng shareholders.

He stated that OandO made the decision to divest their retail stations in anticipation of the naira devaluation (JAGABANOMICS) and competition (DANGREFINE)...
