black women in general are too forgiving which is why they are the ones dying of Aids. It's a known fact that they are on the top of the list and a good % are married

least you alanu Samarias have heaven to look forward to since no one else appreciates your over the top forgiving nature

Lmao what exactly is the "2nd side" to a story of stoning a CHILD to death

Some people will defend anything malicious as long as it's based on their "religion"
RomanceRe: Husband Cheating? by KarmaMod(f): 8:08pm On Nov 03, 2008
That dumb excuse of "oh if this marriage doesnt work, the next one wouldnt" is so tired.

and what about those who get divorced, get married again and last for years and years

Are their super people?

A woman forgave her husband the first time and he did it again and the only excuse you people have is "oh dont leave cos God will make it happen again in another relationship" cos apparently that's the evil malicious god that some of you worship.

Its very hard for me to accept him back after forgiving him only 3 weeks ago for the same thing
When it comes to forgiveness of adultery, There's always two ways about it

1. He'll take the forgiveness, be ashamed and never do it again

2. he'll take ADVANTAGE of the forgiveness, see you as weak and do it again

Your husband did the latter, therefore has NO respect for you. The pregnancy makes it worse.

Have you spoken to his family?

stillwater:
My beef with this bride price thing starts with some unknown people aka umuada putting some ridiculous amount and making unnecessary demands to the groom?
Second, the thought some man would use it as a rememberance on "who's boss".
Exactly

I'm not sure we have "umuada" in YorubaLand though. Hopefully not.

"oh I remember saying hello to her when she passed my house everyt morning therefore I must eat from the wedding stuff" Pathetic freeloaders

After Frida, sadly she put her acting chops on the back burner and relied more on her sexuality/sensuality to carry through.

Reason why i don't like actresses ughhhh too many rely on their looks to get by.
which is why I perfer movies that dont have women in them or the woman is there for a REASON.
CultureRe: Outrageous Brideprice! by KarmaMod(f): 5:56pm On Nov 03, 2008
Secondly the men marry some what later when they are financially and emotionally matured
That's when the control freak comes in. "You werent there when I was making my money therefore I dont have to run any family monetary decisions by you"

I dont see how it's a good thing to have a tradition that forces men to wait til they're in their mid 40s before they can get married without "disgrace"

CultureRe: Outrageous Brideprice! by KarmaMod(f): 3:35pm On Nov 03, 2008
don't be silly, most men will still lord over women, even if the didnt pay their bride price.
What are you talking about? and no one is being "silly". It is a known fact that some husbands bring up this "brideprice" in arguements. Blah blah dont you remember that I paid this and that. Difference between "lording" and sheer blackmail.
TV/MoviesRe: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by KarmaMod(f): 3:29pm On Nov 03, 2008
I personally think Cusack is very bland. Oh well

AAA showed his true acting skills in OZ. Didnt hurt that he spoke Yoruba in some of the episodes as well grin. He's pretty much everyone's favorite prison on the show and Lost gained MORE popularity when he joined in Season 3.

Prison Break and Oz. Lol the only thing that makes them similar is the location which is within prison and PB sef, 75% is outside prison while OZ is 97% withIN prison. it's pretty graphic and gritty so you might not like it.

Definitely look into Six Feet Under. smiley
CultureRe: Outrageous Brideprice! by KarmaMod(f): 3:19pm On Nov 03, 2008
Ujujoan:
Paying of Bride Price its just a harmless tradition. I don't see anything wrong in it.

Nobody says the pide price paid is all that matters. Its just a sign of respect to the family of the girl. Remember you don't just go and snatch a girl and run away. She belonged to a family before you came along. A family that cared for her and nutured her. Giving Bride Price dosent mean you are buying the girl, it means you are showing appreciation for all the years her family took care of her.
If this were true, most people wouldnt use this as a tool of obedience. "Remember I paid your brideprice so you haver to do this and that"

EventsRe: Who Pays For The Wedding? by KarmaMod(f): 11:05pm On Nov 02, 2008
It's not Yoruba culture. They do it in the "West" too. Some parents have separate account JUST for the expenses of the daughter's wedding. Its showing to the "world" the "level" the daughter is coming from.

Better than bankrupting the dude from the beginning. Let him use his money for the honeymoon and house.
TV/MoviesRe: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by KarmaMod(f): 10:58pm On Nov 02, 2008
I added him because of OZ, spike, not Lost.

I'm adding John Malkovich to the list. I went and saw The Changeling last night. GREAT movie. I loved it. It was engrossed, teary eyed and Im so not the type to cry at movies. The fact that it's an actual True Life story and not "based on one" definitely made it even more poignant. I usually don't care too much for Angelina but she definitely did an amazing job as Christine Collins. Same way I never thought much of Nicole Kidman and she blew me away in Dogville.

Mad_Max, I think it's weird that you arent enjoying OZ (sincerely yet to meet anyone who doesnt like it ten again I tend to only suggest it to guys) but if it's not really your thing, you should look into 6 Feet Under instead. Awesome show  wink
