patrotic9gerian: Biden isn't weak. He has rather chosen to put the lives of his citizens to safety and to ensure that everyone in the world including Reno Omocri has peace. When you choose the part of peace, people like Reno see you as weak and a coward.
Such heros like Biden should rather be celebrated than criticized. Do you guys think that Russia can ever withstand an American aggression? Go and have a look at how much the American government spend on the US army. Besides, America has tremendous control of NATO forces who's army strength is more than five times that of Russia.
Should Biden attack Russia, you (with your long teeth) may even be the one suffering from the consequences and not America... Shun ignorances. Reno is dumb on this one |

wirinet: Because Putin had made it clear from the beginning that he will never accept the idea of Ukraine and Georgia joining NATO or EU. He would rather die than let that happen. Ukraine should have pledged to remain neutral just like Switzerland in WW2.
France and UK made a verbal pledge to frustrate Ukraine joining NATO, but US says they cannot make a pledge.
What is happening in Ukraine is a struggle for control of Ukraine. While the US uses aids, money and democracy to control Ukraine, Russia feels the only option left for her is force. Question: Has Ukraine joined NATO? Do you punish a child for the havoc he's about to cause? Maybe Putin feels this is the time to put hypersonic missiles to use, because every of his move recently have been far from reasonable. |

Ockra007: When United States gave a possible military invasion of Ukraine by Russia last week, Putin said Washington was lying and the children here were saying it was just a media war propaganda by the United States. Our collective option is for the war not to have started. Since it has started, just pray it doesn't go beyond this level. Let's remember that first and second world war started somewhere, between two countries. I told a naughty boy here sometime ago that America spies on the world with great precision and he thought it was just a joke. |

Like for Russia share for NATO Why Russia no attack NATO, if NATO is the cause as you blame. An adult slapped you as an adult and you go about looking for his best friend's little son to bully. Anyone who blames this war on NATO must be driven by pure hatred and sentiments, not sound reasoning. |

wirinet: I am also not pro Russians but the West must understand and accommodate Russia's fears instead of treating them like a defeated country. I am particularly appalled by Biden's handling of the whole situation. He was encouraging Zelinski to make mouth anyhow instead of encouraging him to talk to Putin, afterall both of them are named Vladimir and they both speak Russian. Now that the war has started, will America and the West sent troops to Ukraine to protect them.
Even though I don't like Trump, I know he would not have antagonize Putin to the point of invading Ukraine. He would have told Zelinski "you are in your own" and he would have been forced to negotiate with Putin. Everyone has her fair share of blames on this issue but why are you not blaming Putin here as well? Is it because no one blames a mad man for acting mad? |

Now ask yourself why is the US currently threatening to disconnect Russia from SWIFT if it invades Ukraine, (a move experts say would have a very crippling effect on Moscow), if Russia isn't still heavily dependent on SWIFT? And why would a reasonable Russia still be heavily dependent on SWIFT even when she churned out SPFS? Please go back and read about the SWIFT system in the light of the current realities. CrownedPhoenix: I used to love Putin. The strong no-nonsense untouchable badass ex-KGB agent, man made of steel. A balance to world power etc etc
I thought and believed Russia to be non-expantionist. Loved that country for their resolute willpower throughout history. From the fire of Moscow to Stalin's snipers in Stalingrad, I have loved this country of theirs.
But in this past few weeks I have made time for reflection on the man Putin.
The respectable demeanor and aura he carried has been reduced to dust, revealing another power hungry, devilish Hitler.
I am horribly disturbed by his flagrant disregard for rules of engagement. One a KGB agent should know better about.
Declare recognition for parts of a sovereign State. And then decree troops be deployed into a sovereign state?
This is unacceptable by any standard.
What a low-life cunning way to invade a sovereign State. Some hype it as a game of chess. I call it con.
Watching a man I so much revered talking nonsense history and making an utter fool of himself on TV. Couldn't believe it's same Vladimir Putin I could argue to the moon & back for.
Except China who's waiting to play same script on Taiwan, anybody supporting this insanity just because they hate America should have his/her head checked.
He is saying all the Anti-Putin activists can gather in one place, declare themselves a sovereign State and have other nations recognize them.
He referenced how a country can not pursue it's security to the detriment of another country, what exactly has he just done?
Well, by this provocative action of his, if Ukraine doesn't immediately formally apply to join NATO, then something is wrong. You can imagine the idiotic comments made here by these weezkeeds and marlians, all for the hatred of America. They just pick sides like its football talk and start analysing with the frail logic of sports betting. That's all they got. That's what they can offer. Then you got these types also, who have a hint of global politics, with shallow insight as its relates historical timeline. They so much assert themselves with arrogance and talk about the evil West, an overwhelming better China, a Powerful preferable Russia, bla bla.. But they'll kill to have a US visa. So much nonsense on one platform. |

I won't enquivocate though, you said the truth.
But somehow I believe the US is trying to cut Russia's power after the division of Soviet Union and the abrupt end of Cold War The US knows that whoever wields a huge military force has a say in the world order and affairs. Russia is economically average or more or less salvaged, but her huge nuclear arsenals and equipped military give her a seat on the forefront with the determiners of the world order. To push your ideology farther, you need a formidable military. Even if you're peacefully doing so, you still need Military capacity and stamina to withstand pushes or scare them off. Every Authoritarian rule is a time bomb waiting to explode. God created the earth with creatures in it to play free roles. Nature itself is democratic. Even God allow man to make his choices, though the consequences is what he also bears after. The West know this, so they simply wait for authoritarian systems to start shaking. Usually its either some groups get fed up of the man in power due to long periods of rule or he comes up with a decree that may not be okay with some minority..etc.. The moment the in fighting begins, the US steps in and supplies the factions with firearms and the aim is achieved. People don't see this. They only know the US backed and sponsored rebels. Is this justified in any way if you ask me, No. China is also sitting on a time bomb with the CCP. Its a matter of time. Rapid rise to rapid fall. Its not sustainable. I've read so many articles on this, but its a topic for another day. So its simple to say the US fights Authoritarian influence, whenever it starts increasing. They also fight religious extremism that threatens human security. This resolve become more firm after September 11. Looking plainly at Ukrain joining NATO, its an unfair advantage for the US, but Russia is not just doing this because of NATO. Its just an excuse from Putin to work out some laid scripts. |
