snailspeed:
You are talking nonsense. The card reader is the biggest election rigging tool ever invented! The first and most effective way to rig an election in Nigeria today is to disenfranchise the voters through the card readers. That is one rigging you cannot even fight against. It was used perfectly in the last election. But guess what? Kano state had over two million votes cast but just about 400k voters were accredited by the card readers. So at the end, what Jega has done is that he has put the biggest rigging tool in the hands of inec and the executive. This will be used especially in the presidential elections. That is why Buhari has put his own person as the inec chairman.
Dis has been my own problem since this Mata of card reader came up, has anyone looked into d 1.9m votes of kano state, I believe d card reader did not account for all, if we re to go by d card reader all d election in the country will b nullified because of over voting

PoliticsRivers: Supreme Court Upholds Gov Wike’s Election by karokit(op): 7:30pm On Jan 27, 2016
The Supreme Court has upheld the outcome of the April 11 governorship election that ‎brought Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to power.

The apex court in an unanimous judgment, restored the declaration of Wike as the valid winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Justice Kekere-Ekun who delivered the lead verdict, held that three separate appeals that were filed by Wike, PDP and INEC, were meritorious.

Concurrent judgments of both the Rivers State Governorship Election ‎Petition Tribunal and that of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal were all set aside by the Supreme Court.

The apex court panel headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed however reserved their reasons for the judgement till February 12.

PoliticsICPC Arraigns Ex-governor Yerima For N1bn Fraud by karokit(op): 6:56am On Jan 22, 2016
The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission on Thursday arraigned former Governor Sani Yerima of Zamfara State before a Gusau High Court over an allegation that he misapplied over N1bn while in office in 2006.

Yerima is standing trial on a 19-count charge bordering on misappropriation of funds, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

Counsel for the ICPC, Mr. Mashkur Salisu, said the money was a bank loan meant for the repair of the collapsed Gusau Dam and the payment of compensations to the victims affected by the incident.

Salisu alleged that Yerima diverted the money to other purposes.

The offence, he said, is contrary to, and punishable under section 25 (1) (a) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000.

Also charged with Yerima were Alhaji Hashim Dikko, and two companies – Development Management Ltd. and HAD Nigeria Limited.

They were also accused of misapplication and overshooting of the contract sum for the supply of assorted grains to the Federal Government, amounting to hundreds of millions of naira.

All the accused persons pleaded not guilty.

Mr. Mahmoud Abubakar, who led eight other lawyers to appear for the accused persons, pleaded with the court to grant them bail on self recognition with an assurance that they would not jump bail.

Justice Bello Shinkafi granted bail to each of the accused persons in the sum of N100m and two sureties in like sum.

Shinkafi ruled that each of the sureties must own landed properties worth N150m, while they must be resident in Gusau and he adjourned the case till February 29 and March 1, 2016 for hearing.

Speaking to newsmen after the court session, Yerima alleged that the case was instituted against him by his ‘political enemies’, adding that ‘we will use politics to fight back’.

It will be recalled that in 2000, one Buba Jangebe was amputated in Zamfara after he was found guilty of stealing a cow during the tenure of Yerima.
