abduleez1: That guy dey alternate Universe.... probably Earth 404...not found!! 😤😡
Bro, remember her in Mission Impossible. Person come dey talk say she no get grace and carriage reach Jessica Alba? Jessica Alba wey we know abi another one
CoolUsername: Charlotte winning was a dumb idea but Roxanne Perez would've been even worse. At least Charlotte can be a believable he which is more than I can say for Roxanne.
Really? I thought she had a good showing on Saturday night. And she's great in the ring and decent on the mic. Could've made her jump to the main roster that way. Have her lose to Rhea but look good while doing it. Would've established her a star
ValeeLove: WWE fans, una dey tire me sometimes o, except if what I'm saying is not true. You guys spent years trying to convince everyone that Jey Uso was a main eventer (why anyone would think that beats my imagination) you guys even added "main event" to his name. Now he's won the Royal Rumble and everyone has an issue with that. Pick a side.
pu7pl3: And she received massive boos on Raw for it despite trying to cut a Babyface promo.
Me: Pretends to be shocked.
W Cleveland for those boos.
The thing with the WWE Universe sha is that, despite the negative reaction, she's still a draw. Like someone once said (I can't remember who) it's better the crowd boos you if they won't cheer. The problem is when you're met with indifference and non-interest
If they could let Jey win the men's Rumble, I don't see why they couldn't have let Roxanne Perez win the women's Rumble. It's not like Andrade's ex needs the Rumble win to get on the Wrestlemania card.
oyaskii: These sequence of events that has unravelled, this past week, couldn't have happened to a more disgusting and hypocritical movie such as this dirtbag of a flick.
The Oscars should feel real stupid now, ignoring valid calls before those nominations came out, and going ahead to make this one of the highest nominated flick ever as per the Academy awards. Now they are in a pickle, If this trash goes on to win any of the big 5 awards, literally everyone is gonna eat the oscars up for been tone deaf to a movie that has pulled one of the greatest gaslight in modern cinema, but then again, if after 13 nominations, it ends up winning nothing because of the ongoing debacle, it further exposes how fraudulent and hypocritical the charade of the Academy awards has become...real ones know they hold zero credibility at this point anyways.
Only Zoe Saldana deserves to walk out of all these unscathed, her performance deserves it, but i fear, all these noise envelopes it all. I am wholly in support of quite frankly, one of the worst films in recent memory failing at the biggest stage after been propped up there by misguided critics nonsense propagandist agenda...see it's failure will bring me untold respite ngl 👌🏿.
Bro is fully invested in the downfall of Emilia Perez. Can't help but respect the dedication
pu7pl3: It's Royal Rumble SZN Who are your picks to win both genders royal rumble matches?
I'll go first. I think the Men's Rumble is really unpredictable but with Roman declaring himself again it's hard not to see him Maineventing WrestleMania...it's a safe pick.
For the women I'd go with the easy one too, a returning Charlotte Flair or Jade Cargill
Yep! Reigns is the most likely candidate to win the men's.
I don't really see Jade main eventing mania currently. She might return tonight but she's not winning it. Charlotte is also a pretty good pick cos Bianca's holding down the Tag belts and Becky isn't really straight fire right now. There might be a dark horse but I can't really figure who it might be.
This season was really good and action packed, compared to season one, it's a huge improvement. This one had character, style and fully embraced the roots of the Castlevania universe.
Really top tier. The animation was really top notch as well as the score. The storytelling was a huge upgrade and better tied things up with the story building that season one was tasked with. Had good character development for the major characters as well. Even tho some characters like Richter Belmont were overpowered, it felt good watching it in all its glory. 😎
Also very fast paced as things develop in quick succession. Great thing they didn't waste time trying to ease one into the show without proper groundwork.
One feature I really loved is the dedicated full infusion into retelling the African culture with my favourite being the story of the Yoruba deity Ogun. Top notch execution. I really enjoyed it. Gives the show some level of authenticity unlike the earlier season where it seems unearned and an afterthought. This story felt more fleshed out and kudos to the team for doing it some good measure of justice.
They really checked the most important boxes of the universe for me: ✓Superb action ✓Great score and sound effects ✓Great storytelling back on the menu ✓Rich African cultural heritage infusion ✓Great fantasy world ✓Great character development.
It delivered sufficiently.
Just heard Annette spoke Yoruba during her incantations this season. If I no binge the 2 seasons of Nocturne this year, make I know wetin cause am.
I remember the day I realized this existed. My brain had to pause to process the ridiculousness. Might actually even check it out someday just for kicks
abduleez1: Which one be production committee again?? Na them go come decide wetin company wan produce or not?
A studio, usually, just works on the adaptation of the manga/light novel they're commissioned to adapt. The manga publisher and the distribution company are also on the committee. The committee decides what budget the anime studio gets, which is also why sometimes you hear that the budget increased or decreased for a new season. The production committee is not fixed to these 3 parties. Sometimes the studio is not even a part of the committee. They just get hired to adapt the project.
abduleez1: Why TF this trailer looks weird and uninteresting with this English language. I'm hoping the trailer is dubbed and not the actual language they used for it cos I'm hardly buying any originality to this. The lips don't move accordingly so I'm hoping it's dubbed.
abduleez1: Abeg which time we go get Hell's Paradise and Dorohedoro S2??
Mappa don start their nonsense.
Not Mappa's fault. Production committees are responsible for deciding whether an anime gets a new season. So it's not solely up to Mappa to start working on a new season of either show
majesticguy: I understand your point about extensive research, and I respect that you studied this topic in depth for a project. If your issue is with the movie’s execution, I’d agree—Tyler Perry didn’t do the story justice. But your response seems to downplay the historical and symbolic importance of the 6888th Battalion, which I believe is central to this discussion.
Yes, morale-boosting letters might not compare to frontline victories, but wars are not won by combat alone. Logistics, communication, and morale support are critical to any military operation.
To say “the war would have still been won without them” misses a larger point: No single unit wins a war, but every contribution matters. The real question is whether their efforts were significant and meaningful, and for the 6888th, the answer is yes.
Your initial Dismissal or downplay of their achievements only perpetuates the erasure of Black contributions to history. The fact that it took decades for their efforts to even be acknowledged with a Congressional Gold Medal in 2022 speaks volumes about how society has long undervalued their service.
You’re also right about Hollywood’s tendency to prioritize marketable narratives, often tied to themes of racism or discrimination. But in this case, their focus on the 6888th sheds light on a story that was ignored for decades. Highlighting Black women in a segregated military—working under immense pressure and prejudice—isn’t just about exploitation; it’s about acknowledging and celebrating a contribution that history has overlooked.
