BlackManta: There's a minor plot hole in The Penguin that no one is talking about.
THE ABSENCE OF BATMAN in this show doesn't make sense.
I understand that the showrunners have their reasons. Batman is too big to be in this show. Even an ordinary cameo could result in drawing attention away from Oz and Sofia. Hence his absence.
Valid reason, make sense if you see it that way.
BUT hear me out.
A lot has happened in Gotham already.
Alberto Falcone was murdered. The Falcone family were gassed to death. And now Oz is flooding the streets of Gotham with a new drug. Bliss.
And Batman doesn't show up. Even worse, this guys are going about their business like he doesn't exist.
Matt Reeves better have an explanation for that in The Batman part 2.
There has to be something personal or more dangerous that's keeping the dark knight distracted.
That's the only way to make up for this plot hole.
Bats is a detective. Does he know there's a new drug on the streets? I'll bet he does. But he'll want to know the source so he can cut off the head of the snake.
And Oz's people are keeping mum to ensure that the gangs (before the meeting at the end) don't find out he's selling to multiple sides.
Also, audience perspective should also be taken into account. Just because we're privy to everything going on in the story doesn't mean the characters are.
This isn't really a plot hole until The Batman 2 cos I feel it's something that's easily explained by hinting he's been busy with something else at the same time the events of The Penguin take place.
He's one man, after all. Now if the Bat family was already existing, that would be a bigger issue. One of the Robins would definitely have been on this by now. Especially Jason Todd

I liked Spy & Family, na just say just like you I had many shows on my plate then and as I didn't follow up for two weeks the urge to continue with it dropped. That's how I stopped and focused on other things.

Many animation commitments dey my head. But for now I dey enjoy Ranma ½ and Dan Da Dan. Make I dey follow am weekly before e pile up I go come dey do mental gymnastics to complete.

I low-key like it. It just came in a stacked season and a period when I don't have as much free time as I used to. So I can't really enjoy it fully. Cos when I'm watching it, I can't wait for it to end so I can watch Blue Lock or something higher up on my list.
The final straw will be if I end up liking Orb: On the Movement of the Earth. I'll have no choice but to drop it to create space in my lineup

People have said we are in the era of "Celebrity capitalism culture" as every single one of them is trying to sell you something apart from their movies especially when their movies aren't selling no more and they are right. I personally don't blame them as acting doesn't pay the bills anymore, we all witnessed the strike, the era of the "moviestar" is dead, killed by social media and it's influencers which in turn will soon be killed by AI so the old ones are trying to milk every last penny before their worst fears come true. I personally think it's a huge problem when the name as an actor becomes a brand than a moviestar, if you notice, most of the old actors who have range are the ones who are all about the art especially the English actors from Day-Lewis to Oldman to A-listers like Bale and Murphy who all live simple lives compared to their American counterparts like De Niro or Pacino who saw an opportunity with their fame to capitalize on other industries, De Niro is one of the four owners of Gorgio Baldi, the most expensive restaurant in LA (it's also Rihanna's favorite restaurant) while Pacino has his grounds into various real estates but yet again I understand capitalizing on your fame, just do it in a way that references your personality. Jake Gyllenhaal and Matthew McConaughey released children's books, Jake's flopped but Matthew's was successful because Matthew is the parent between both men, Jake was trying to use his sister Maggie's kids to sell the books, steering into the spotlight like the fun uncle, Omo....... people wey show up to the book signing no even reach 10. This new generation of youngin A-listers have social media now which is in their favor, I won't be surprised if Timothee releases a clothing line tomorrow as he's known to be an high end pretty boy fashionisto of this era, he's also dating a member of the Kardashian klan which we all know won't last, at least he can capitalize on their fame and business prowess before.............or Elordi releases a skincare line tomorrow, something he's passionate about and it's sooner because acting can't and won't fund their lifestyles forever like a passive income can, look at Reynolds and The Rock, they can leave the industry and it won't sting them tomorrow

I have since clocked that i probably should stop looking for Albert Einstein-level-intricate plot in movies, let alone from a CBM, and maybe i would enjoy movies more for the entertainment they bring...good jokes, foul mouthed, insane 4th wall break, roleplaying and satirizing real life events, and slo mo brute action? I'm sorry this is %100 entertainment i signed up for!.
I didn't care for the multi versal, time line integrity hullabaloo that was going on in the BG, i didn't even care to understand it as it was clear that the main purpose of this movie was for MCU to bind 2 of their most Iconic amd relatable characters together in one flick, and probably let some oldies, like Big Unc Wesley Snipes, who have been out of the game for long with financial troubles also break bread and eat....i mean they weren't aiming for the Oscars, lets be for real 😩.

Every now and then, we get a piece of art that you look at and marvel in wonder at how the creators were able to come up with such a concept and execute it. Scavengers Reign is one of such pieces of art.
Joseph Bennett and Charles Huettner have my respect with what they've created here. A beautiful, terrifying and mesmerizing world. I know a student or students of nature when I see one and these guys have definitely been studying for a while.
The world of Scavengers Reign is pretty much like what the Earth looked like before man tamed it. Some parts of it almost feel like you're watching an animated episode of Nat Geo Wild with how much care was taken in designing the terrain, as well as, the local flora and fauna.
But enough talk about the world building, the story is also gripping. It follows a group of survivors of a spaceship malfunction as they scavenge for a way to return to the ship and make it back home. These survivors are not all in one location and their individual journeys, innovative survival skill set and resilience are what make each of the characters interesting in their own right.
Two major themes of this show are survival and evolution. And we get to watch these themes take shape and play out with these characters.
The fact that a show like this didn't automatically grab the Emmy for animated show takes my anticipation of what Blue Eye Samurai has to offer to higher levels cos I'm really interested to see how it matches up to or tops what Scavengers Reign cooked.

That explains it. TYBW is a continuation of the original Bleach show. While you may not need to watch all 366 episodes before jumping into TYBW, it would've provided context for some of the questions you have with TYBW.
