You make it sound like education brings a negative effect when the problem is people not using it properly.
Education doesn't keep you from being open minded. In some places, college professors encourage you to challenge them and when you teach them your ideas, they listen attentively . That's open-mindedness, thinking outside the box and coming up with new ideas. It's up to you to apply your education in a way that it puts bread on your table using what you learnt in the classroom.
The only thing the technician TV repairer has over you is his 'priceless' experience but if you have equal practical experience to go with your MS and BS degrees, you won't be on the same level.

If the luggage is classified as 'cargo', it is subject to fees and charges, customs duty or so. Some Nigerians or cargo agents try to avoid this by packaging their cargo as normal passengers' luggage. That's what I think is the issue here.

It is not the duty of the airline to detect this as long as you don't exceed their set limits.

It becomes a bigger problem when the airport officials can't separate normal luggage from 'cargo disguised as luggage' and then they decide to charge everyone. The airport officials have to figure out a way to separate these 2. Charging passengers for normal luggage is ILLEGAL.

In the end, MMIA remains the most stressful airport to travel through.
