Business › Re: Does Travelling Abroad Truly Guarantee A Better Future? by KayDee4: 2:48am On Nov 10, 2011
Travelling abroad does not guarantee a better future but with a good plan, you stand a chance. Strategize, dont just jump outta Naija  without a blueprint for your hustle.

Quote from Kay-Dee on a similar topic:

If you're a very smart person you can make it anywhere on God's green earth, some people are better off in naija than they would be if they went anywhere else so I guess it’s different strokes for different folks.

Its up to you to know your worth and weigh your options. If you are earning $250k in naija and you're being offered $100k as net pay in America, then ure better off sitting home than coming over. If i was earning $100k in naija and I have the opportunity of earning $250k (NET) here or in Ukraine, then its a better option for me. simple as ABC

Its all about choices and planning.

If you feel you're worth 1m in Nigeria and you're not getting it then go to where u feel u will (with a plan of course).

Weigh your options and decide what's better for you.

Okija has made his choice which is a better option for him and he still has brilliant plans so y is everyone on his case.

Naija is not a very conducive place to live, nothing works and corruption thrives in the country, justice system is screwed up, security is nothing to write home about, infrastructure is non-existent and a whole bunch of problems enough to make a sane ni99a go crazy. All these deficiencies fixed, and 9ja becomes paradise.

Putting security and other good things of life above money or vice-versa is also a matter of choice.

Olalekan 0:
Okija-juju, For you to earn 500k a month in Nigeria as you claimed, you must possess at least two degrees, whereas you can drop out of school at the 5th grade in America and still have a good life!
5th grade drop-out ? ? Dont deceive urself, as a Nigerian in a foreign land, that rule does not apply. Unless u wanna push coka' or work in the morgue, if that's your idea of a "good life".

Olalekan 0:
@okija-juju, I've got nothing more to say to you, fellow nairalanders have said it all. However,am going to ask you this;when you earn 500k a month in nigeria,do you get to save all that amount? The answer is no! Nothing compares to live abroad,i know a good number of senators children who relocated to Nigeria after their father's' election triumph, they only stayed for a few months and are back in the U.S'now.  Nigerians are dieing of avoidable causes for example, doctors' negligence as a result of the crappy traiing they receive, bad roads, armed robbery, fraudsters everywhere, class discrimination, appaling infrastructure, you name it. Even the people in the ghettos of america have a better quality of live than nigeria's'rich!
@ d red bolded; better for u to be discriminated against in Nigeria by fellow Nigerians than for you to be discriminated by Oyibo man because ure in his country. Nigeria is in a terrible state, no doubt about that but there's no place like home. Even black americans here still suffer some form of discrimination, not to mention u with an African name. This your point nor follow abeg.

@ d blue bolded; dont be deceived : That is a fallacy, infact, a BIG FAT LIE !!!

We are NOT a one man team  grin grin grin
Truth is, since the 2nd half of last season, RvP has been our main source of goals, to the point that we look like without him, we'll be firing blanks and ending up with goaless draws. That over dependency on him is the root of all this "one-man-team" talk. We wldnt have any of that if Chamakh and Park have popped in a couple of goals in the games they started. For now we're dangerously looking like a team built around him.

HOURS after about 150 people were killed in the bomb attacks by the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, in two Northern states, the Federal Government on Monday said there was no cause for alarm.
150 people killed and you say there's no cause for alarm.  shocked lipsrsealed lipsrsealed undecided

Azazi added that the security agencies were up to the task of securing the country.
What security agencies ? Police stations have been attacked many times; if they can't protect themselves how will they protect citizens.

Why are they trying to make it sound like everything is okay, when the problem is obvious.

Security Personnel and agents need training, the people heading these outfits need training and Mr President himself needs to be trained on how to run a country. angry angry angry

Time for fasting, praying and sacrifices, lol;  November is always a "bad luck" month for Arsenal, we dont hope for any of that this year.

Its only 1 game for the Netherlands but I'll be happy to hear that "Paper Mache man", Van P pulled out of the squad, afterall its only a friendly game.

I hope everyone comes back in good shape.

Line-ups

Arsenal: Szczesny, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Andre Santos, Ramsey, Song, Arteta, Walcott, van Persie, Gervinho. Subs: Fabianski, Mertesacker, Rosicky, Park, Djourou, Arshavin, Benayoun.

West Brom: Foster, Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Jones, Morrison, Dorrans, Brunt, Cox, Gera, Thomas. Subs: Fulop, Tchoyi, Shorey, Mulumbu, Dawson, Thorne, Fortune.

No Osaze, who has been our nemesis, Shane Long is still out for Westbrom. We should take all 3 points from this.
Travel › Re: Is Old Mrp Passport Still A Valid Identification by KayDee4: 11:25pm On Nov 04, 2011
ilurveit:
Ok this is not really a travel question but it is related to the old Nigerian passport.

I have an exam coming up day after tomorrow for which I've been told the only allowable ID I can use is my passport. (No Driver's license, National ID etc). However, I don't currently have my E-passport with me as it's at an embassy being processed for a visa. I DO have my old (MRP) passport which doesn't expire till next year. I'm wondering if that's still acceptable as a valid form of identification in this country or has it been phased out?
as long as it hasn't expired, it should still be valid for ID'ing u.

Na wah o, u guys make it sound like Rambo had a terribly woeful game.

I watched the full match again on replay and he was quite brilliant, he's getting back to his "pre leg-break" form (a lot better than he was @ the beginning of this season) and that's why the fans voted him as 2nd Man of the match behind Van Pepper, abi those fans sef no watch the game? Abeg commend the guy when he plays well and u can thrash him if he doesn't.

Abeg , U guys shld free Ramsey jor.  His habit of frequently giving the ball away @ the beginning of the season was frustrating but he's improved (or is improving) and more importantly, creating and scoring goals.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. This is one of the greatest solo goals you will see this season. Theo Walcott runs at the Chelsea defence, beats two men, slips, picks himself up and wriggles past a couple more men before slamming the ball past Petr Cech. Only one man made that goal, and it wasn't my mate Robin van Persie. Arsenal lead for the first time in what is turning out to be a truly dramatic match.
. . . . . . . and now we can all agree that Theo has a football skull brain afterall. All anti-theo/ Theo haters, take note.

Yeah, brilliant runs those, I just hope our midfielders find him whenever he makes them.

Intelligent combination with Arshy for d second goal. After a couple of offsides, Arshy wasnt in a hurry to slip the ball to him and he did well to drop back into an onside position b4 goin for the kill.
