Imcool: OUR INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE(Window 16): CO- Gd mrn. I & WIFEY- Gd mrn. Finger prints done & wife was ask to sit while i was interviewed. CO QUESTIONS- 1. Whatz ur highest educational qualification? HND IN MECH ENGINEERING. 2. What're ur final year courses? 3. What is thermodymanics? 4. How is thermodynamics related to an automobile engine? 5. Explain ur schedule of duty @ work. 6. What questions where u asked in mathematics during ur WAEC? 7. What is Algebra? 8. What do u know about trigonometry in math? 9. When & where did u meet ur wife? 10. Where was she staying @ dat time? 11. Do u av ur wedding pix here? 12. Who and who are these in ur welding album? 13. Who owns d jeep u used during ur wedding? AT THIS POINT, Wife was called & i was asked to sit. CO asked most of the personal questions asked from me from my wife too and also added this- tell me about ur final year project. I WAS CALLED AT THIS POINT & as she wasn't convinced, she asked us to sit and we were called @ window 8(a door leading to an inner private window when we met another CO) after about 1hr. WIFE WAS ASKED to go out and so many questions to test the authenticity of my marriage were asked- even question lyk wen we first had sex and wen we had sex last were asked too, this lasted for another 30mins and WIFE WAS CALLED IN to be questioned again while i went out, she however missed one question here. WE THEN WENT OUT AGAIN and sat for some minutes wen we were called @ window 16 again and our visas were finally approved. GOT INTO D INTERVIEW HALL AROUND 8AM AND LEFT AROUND 1PM. The secret of our interview was 1. Prayers and divine favour 2. Wen @ window 16, it's advisable to talk in technical jargons cuz by dis, d lady gets tired of asking more questions. 3. Thorough study and revision of ur past educational courses and subject as regards to sec sch. 4. I got to realise dat d CO(S) are not mr or mrs know all, all they're looking out for is how confident and bold u're, i could remember i gave some wrong answers but she couldn't decode cuz i spoke more in technical terms. The window 16 CO denyed like 4ppl while i was there, d black angel wasn't around 2day instead a young white american guy was in window 13 and another white lady was in 15- they were both nice. But as for window 16, she was so tough wit each interview section btw 40mins to 1hr. THANKS TO EVERYONE IN D HOUSE, MY SUCCESS STORY WOULDN'T AV BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT UR CONTRIBUTIONS. I guess we should not at dis juncture starts saying all manner of things about dt guy, let wish him well first. Combinatn or no combinatn shld be set aside 4 now. He will sail thru IJN. shalom

gulfkid: Just to add to the good news in the house and to Praise God for His goodness and mercies. My wife and I had our interview on the 13th of Nov. My wife is the Principal Applicant.
After all the security checks and we entered the embassy hall, we made our payment for 3 of us ($330 each) and sat down to be called. We where called to submit our documents which we did. The Nigerian lady collecting the documents noticed an affidavit attached to my wife's passport and asked her to remove it.

Meanwhile, let me explain more about the affidavit. My wife is a dual citizen of Nigeria and Britain. last year when he was going to have our son in London, she applied and got a Nigerian passport. She noticed there was a mistake on her place of birth and brought it to the attention of the immigration officer that handled it and she was advised to do an affidavit which she did and was able to travel back from UK with that passport as she traveled out with her British passport.

So back to the interview, we were called after sometime by one other Nigerian young man who immediately started saying that our application cannot scale through cause of that mistake. we tried to explain to him about the affidavit but he said "This is Nigeria, anybody can go and get affidavit from anywhere". Then God sent an Angel in another Nigerian woman who listened to our explanations. Thankfully we had my wife's British Passport. They collected it and asked us to go and sit down. At this point I was just praying for God's intervention.
After about 15 mins they returned her British passport and asked us to sit and wait for our interview.
After about 10-15 mins, our number was called and a white Lady was there to attend to us.
CO: Congratulations for the DV Lottery
We: Thank You
CO: Raise ur write hand. Do you swear to speak nothing but the truth?
We: Yes
CO: Your Finger prints
We: we did
CO: (To my wife) Tell me about your education qualifications
Wife: ......
CO: Where do you wor?
Wife: .....
CO: Where were you born? (At this point she broke into laughter same time with my wife)
Wife: Told her Scotland and tried explaining the whole mix up
CO: Congratulations your Visa has been approved however, we will not be able to issue it on this passport because of the mistake.
She now typed a letter and gave us that states that my wife should return with a corrected passport at a latter date which will be agreed after we send a mail to the email she gave us requesting for an appointment.

My people, you wont believe the passport re-issue never came out until after 3 weeks plus and we spent 60k.
Anyway to the glory of God. Our passports were collected yesterday and the CO gave a letter for collection on Monday 17th.
It was not an easy period but God was faithful.
Pls if you have same or similar issue with your passport, pls sort it out b4 ur interview. It could have been worse but for God.
Sorry for the long story. I feel someone may just learn a thing or two from it.

docbunmi: Thanks everyone. We had a 7am appt and got der @ abt 6am. We were third in line but I had to go back to drop my baby's milk and water outside cos its not alloweD. We went thru all d security checks and by d time we entered d interview hall, it was 7:11am. We paid N163,500 for d 3 of us and after abt 15mins a Nigerian woman called us @ window 13 and asked for my hubby's educational papers, our marriage cert and birth certs and police report. We were already told to open d sealed medical reports @ d gate before entering. Anyway, at this point we had a bit of issue wit my hubby's neco, d original was not in d package! Instead we packed a color copy dat looks just like d original! See shock and confusion,we asked to go get a scratch card outside but we were refused dat we cnt go outside again. Anyways we offered up some prayers and waited. Then d CO came and we were d first pple attended to
CO: good morning
WE: good morning
CO: asked for d payment slip and told us to sign and take d oath. Here, my baby was babbling and I told d CO dat "see, my baby is taking d oath too" and everyone laughed. From dat moment, it was smiles and jokes galore
CO: asked my hubby who played d lottery for him and my hubby said I did it for him and she asked me if dat was true and I agreed and went further to tell her d date I played it. She then asked my hubby wat he does for a living and asked him to explain exactly wat he does. She then asked wen we met and my husband and I told her d story, completing each odas sentences and she was just smiling. She assked wat job I do and I told her I am a doc and specialize in family med. She asked if we had pics and we showed her our wedding photo book and she loved d yoruba attire of d engagement. While, we were still flipping thru d album, she printed out a white paper and circled d first addy and said " dats fine, ur daughter is lucky to have parents so in love like u guys.congrats and welcome to america, go pick ur passports and visa nxt wk @ d circled addy. We said thanks, smiling and as we turned to leave, my baby picked up d black phone to put it in her mouth and d lady started talking baby talk to her dat even d pple waiting were laughing with us
The lesson here is dat though we had some scary moments, we kept our heads and were positive.

I had my interview this morning around 9.15am to 9.19am and it was a pleasant experience and divine favor of God at work.
We (0i and my wife)got to the emabassy around 6.30 am.
We followed their normal security checks and the routine.
Next thing i paid in dollars though i had alternative of over 130k in naira in case she has issues with the dollars i presented.Well no issue,we proceeded to another that collected all our documents (NPC,Marriage cert,my bsc,Hnd Ond and Waec certificates,Police Report and Medicals.I presented the other certifications which includes my ACCA Cert,CIA Cert,CrFA cert and CISA certificates but she didnt collect any of except the required ones)
About 35minutes after a black american lady showed at the window 13 and started the interview for the immigrants.Later another CO showed at the window 16 before a white blonde girl later showed up at window 15 respectively.
Enough people had issues with the currency and visa fee payment and i had to extend a good gesture to a family like that.I am so sure they visited this great forum for once.
The black american gave a family of three visas and 3 individuals as well.She was so friendly that all prayers then was that God let us have our interview with this young lady.Obviously,it didnt cost the lady anything to grant everybody that came to her visas.I must tell you,you guys must just pray she is not on holidays when its your turn (just kidding)

hituneu: Guys you have to help me on my own pls,I have been on this thread either asking questions or praying for those that are about to go for their interview,now I think its almost my turn,just this morning I received an email from kcc telling me by december interviews for my region would start,my case no is 70 plus,and I live and school @ cotonu where my husband lives,now the problem is what n what are we supposed to take for the interview plus what type of questions will they ask us?I didn't want to ask this cos I thougt if I ask no answer will come forth but with the way you guys are helping and praying for people on this thread its quite amazaming.I really want to travel out before the end of next cos I have a lot of reasons that I will share with you guys,my mom died when I was little and my dad didn't remarry,he was the only one who took pain to care for 3girls no family came to help us,just january this year he died,No family has ever called to ask how we are faring and the rest,NOw this would be an oppurnity to me if I can travel out so I and my sisters plus my husband would have a better life.So pls God people of Nigeria I need your help,advise and prayers on this,I won't this lottery to work for our favour.Am counting on you guys to help me with advise on how to do this so it won't go the wrong way.God bless you

brightmon: yes i did ohh, dont try to carry anything with chicken or chiken recipes, rew meat/beef, wet or yam because na dog go sniff you out.
the food stuff you wish to carry MUST be DRY. things like dry fish, egusi, ogbono, garri etc.
and the u can only check in two bags of 23kg each, i will advice u weigh each bags at home b4 going to the airport to make sure it 23kg or less.
them go beg you money for our bairport here ohh, so hold like 200 plent. once e pass our airport here then u dont have any problem but u will be given a form to fill b4 landing at ur POE tick yes for food if u carry. honesty, remeber?

brightmon: The trip was long and stressfull to me because am with a child and infant but if i were travelling alone then it wuld have been sweet.
Anyway, i flew Emirates and it cost abt 230k for an adult to Califonia but the price WILL vary depending on the airline and destination. i got to the airport abt 9am for a flight of 2:45pm and i was glad i did, i was the 1st on the line for check in, am not too sure but i think checking in started abt 9:30am or 10am. my check in was smooth but una know na, 9ja with begging and i have to wet ground but dint spend much sha just abt 2k.
After the check in i then took my time to look for were i will eat mama put for the last time because i may not get that taste for a long time to come. they called for boarding and those with infant, childern, senior boys and girls and business or first class were allowed to board 1st. we got to dubai, spent about 7hrs and boarded for Califonia and on landing i went straight to the immigrant line or section and againm i was the first on the line, we got processed and within about 40min they were done.
my passport was stamped and America here i am.
God bless this Country for giving my family a chance to leave a better life and for my children. I remain loyal and for ever indebtedness to her.
