Nigerian singer, Davido has finally reacted to the sudden death of his photographer, Fortune.

This morning, the singer took to his IG to mourn his friend who drowned at an undisclosed location in Lagos. Davido in his heartfelt post revealed that he is finding it difficult to believe he is gone. He recounted how Fortune went from being a stranger to becoming his closest friend in a matter of weeks.

Davido regrets not being unable to fulfill all the promises he made to Fortune before his death. According to him, his heart is so heavy, but he is grateful to have met him. In his words, he wrote;

Apparently, one of her daughters hid in a laundry basket all because she wants to go to school with her other siblings. Dija revealed that she almost got a heart attack looking for her.

Talented Nigerian Apala Hip-hop musician Terry Alexander Ejeh, popularly known as Terry Apala, has revealed that he was robbed on the third mainland bridge in Lagos.

The Afrobeat and Apala Hip-hop musician recently took to his Instagram page to state that he and three of his friends were robbed on the popular Third mainland bridge by men who were armed with cutlasses. In the video posted, he showed how the armed men broke his car glass in order to rob him and his friends.

Speaking with Punch about the incident, Terry Apala stated that he was shocked that people stood by while he and his friends were being robbed. He said:

Well it seems the Macaulay brothers didn’t like the way 2face’s brother, Charly, brought their mother into Annie’s marital issue. Sylvester called 2face’s mother a bi*ch for supporting Charles Idibia and ignoring his message. He then demanded for an apology from Charly and gave a 24-hours ultimatum.

This afternoon, AG baby almost destroyed his marriage certificate with soda (mineral) over an Instagram account mixup.
He made a resolution to destroy his Marriage Certificate after assuming his wife, Simi had blocked and unfollowed him on Instagram. As seen in the screenshot shared by Simi, Adekunle Gold wanted confirmation before he carried out his plan.

He asked Simi if she unfollowed him and why. He didn’t give her the opportunity to respond before he realized it was a mistake on his part and a little from Instagram. From the photo he sent, it was a different account that wasn’t following him, but Simi was following.

In an interview for Emmanuel Acho’s mental health series “Uncomfortable Conversations,” a vulnerable Weezy opened up about attempting suicide when he was 12 years old after being told that he wouldn’t be able to pursue his dream of becoming a rapper because his mother didn’t support it.

Nigerian songstress, Simi recently shared an experience of how she borrowed her mother in law’s car to go for shows.

The 28 year old artist put a smile on the face of an underage girl he met at a club after he stopped his performance to raise money for her education.

One Word Global Records Limited has filed a copyright infringement suit against Rising singer, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, also known as Bella Shmurda.

Bella is said to have a subsisting contract with One Word Global Records Limited which is due to expire in 2022.

The Label claims that the singer has been engaging in the release, publication, distribution and promotion of songs and videos, among others, without the consent and authorization of the Label.

Bella Shmurda is said to have even gone as far as announcing that he has been signed onto another record label, Dangbana Republik, while his contract with One Word Global Records Limited still subsists. The Singer is also said to have been engaging in collaborations with other artistes without the consent of the label.

According to the Label, the Singer has also failed to remit the royalties accruing from the exploitation of the songs released under the label.

In the Originating process filed by One Word Global Records, the Label claims ownership of the trademark to the name, “Bella Shmurda” as well as the copyright in all the musical works and recordings released under or in connection with the name.

The Label thus seeks the Order of Court restraining the Singer from laying claim to the name and performing the musical works released under or in connection with the name. The Label also seeks the sum of N200 million damages for the Singer’s breach of the Contract.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Label, Prince Nkem Onyenwenu, all efforts to get Bella Shmurda to listen to the voice of reason have proved abortive.

He threatened that the Label would not hesitate to file similar actions against any person or organisations who aids, assists or partakes in the violation of its trademark in the name and its copyright in the musical works released under the name.

The Queen of Afrobeat, Tiwa Savage has lost her father. The peaceful transition occurred during the early hours of today, 19th July, 2021.

Tiwa took to her Instagram page to announce the death of her father after hours of him passing on. In her post she revealed that the lost has made her weak and numb. The grieving artiste also shared that her father has been fighting survival for some years now but strength failed him and finally had to rest.

Obama DMW died on the 29th of June, 2021, shortly after complaining about breathing difficulty. His death shook the DMW clan especially his boss and friend, Davido.

The trial of Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has been adjourned till October 5, 2021.
Recall that Naira Marley was arrested in May 2019 and he is being prosecuted by the EFCC on an 11-count charge of conspiracy, possession of counterfeit cards and fraud. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, thereby leading to his first trial on February 27 and 28, 2020.

On the 12th of July, Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos set a date for the continuation of Naira Marley’s trial.

Since the commencement of the trial, the prosecution had called two witnesses, Nuru Buhari Dalhatu and Augustine Anosike, both forensic experts with the EFCC, who revealed to the court how the defendant frequently visited sites where stolen credit cards were sold to interested fraudsters as well as other shocking evidence recovered from the defendant’s mobile device.

At the resumed sitting, the prosecution counsel, Bilkisu Buhari, informed the court that the matter was slated for cross-examination of the second prosecution witness, PW2, Anosike, and also urged the court to call on the witness for the continuation of the hearing.

However, counsel to the defendants, Akinwale Kola-Taiwo, asked the court for a short date on the grounds that “the matter is for mention today and not continuation as disclosed by the prosecution.”

Justice Oweibo granted the prayer of the defence and adjourned the matter until October 5, 6 and 7, 2021.

The Nigerian Entertainment Industry has been thrown into a state of mourning following the passing of Veteran Sound Sultan. While to many, Sound Sultan May have been a familiar face; to some the legend of the music icon is somewhat strange. Here is a peek therefore, into the Life and times of the icon; Sound Sultan

Sound Sultan (born Olanrewaju Fasasi on November 27, 1976 – 11 July 2021) was a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, comedian and recording artist. He is regarded as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria.

He was born in Jos, Plateau, Nigeria, to Mr Fasasi Liadi Alarape and Mrs Fasasi Adeyinka Ajarat. He is the fourth of six children.

From 1981 – 1987, Sound Sultan attended Stepping Stone Nursery and Primary School. After which he proceeded to the Federal Government College Ogbomosho for his Secondary education from 1988 –1993.

Afterwards, he went on to obtain a degree in geography and regional planning from the Lagos State University (LASU) in 1999. Sound Sultan is married to Chichi Morah, now Farida Fasasi, and they are blessed with three children.

In 1991, he had taken an interest in music, miming at school parties and writing his own lyrics.

He attributes his early influence to his elder brother Baba Dee who studied theatre arts, and received most of his early stage experience through Baba Dee. He started learning to play the guitar after his secondary school education and was in a band by 1999.

Sound Sultan’s career in show business started in the 1990s, when he hosted shows to raise money for studio sessions.

By 1999, he had won numerous local talent-hunt shows. He released his first single “Jagbajantis” in 2000, which was a hit in Nigeria. After independently releasing other singles and featuring in hit songs of other artists, he was signed by Kennis Music.

Under Kennis Music, he released four albums.

By 2007, his contract with the label expired and he partnered with Baba Dee to start Naija Ninjas, a parent organization for a record label, production outfit and clothing line.

After starting as a rapper, he worked in different musical genres from R&B to Afrobeat, soul and Nigerian Fuji Music.

Under Naija Ninjas, he released Back From The Future (2010) and signed artists such as Karma Da Rapper, Young GreyC, Shawn and Blacka.

Sound Sultan began a working relationship with Wyclef Jean when featured alongside 2face Idibia and Faze on “Proud to be African” from Wyclef’s Welcome to Haiti: Creole 101 album. They have collaborated on two other projects: “King of My Country” (2009) and “People Bad” (2012).

In 2015, Sound Sultan released the rap single “Remember” after a long absence from the music scene.

Basketball

Sound Sultan previously played basketball for the Dodan Warriors, so he is an experienced basketballer. In 2015, he partnered with investors and purchased shares in the Lagos Islanders basketball team. Afterwards, he became a facilitator of the African Basketball League and was one of the special guests at the first NBA African Games.

After the fallout of the African Basketball League, the veteran singer sealed a deal with the organizers of the Continental Basketball League to become a team owner of the Lagos City Club, and a facilitator of the league’s entertainment.

Illness

On 12th of May, 2021, It was reported that Sound Sultan is somewhere in America where he is receiving treatment in form of chemotherapy as the musician was reportedly diagnosed with throat cancer.

Death

Unfortunately, he died July 11, 2021 at the age of 44 as a result of an illness.

Nigerian singer Victor Adere popularly known as Victor AD paid a heartwarming tribute to late preacher TB Joshua.

The artist took to Instagram to post a picture of the deceased as he narrates their blissful encounter and unforgettable healing in a heartwarming tribute.

“My dad, late Mr Emmanuel Adere introduced me and my entire family to SCOAN [in] 1996 and ever since then you have been a blessing to us.

“I still remember how God used you to heal me from a skin disease when I was a little boy, after moving from one hospital to another all to no avail.

“You showed me so much undeserving love, help my family and I and countless times,” he wrote.

Victor AD also recalled how the philanthropic preacher came through for him while he was going through some challenges and gave him N1 million.

The artist also said the late preacher taught him how to “pray for grace and God’s mercy and excluded all boasting for my achievements.”

The entertainment industry has been thrown into another mourning as Veteran singer, Olanrewaju Ganiu Fasasi, widely known as Sound Sultan is dead.
The sad news was shared by his brother, Dr. Kayode Fasasi, in a statement, Sound Sultan passed on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the age of 44 after a battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

Nigerian singer, Tekno has announced that he has moved out of the country and is now based in the United States.

The Pana singer has always been vocal about his love for the western country and how he’s living his best life over there.
