Hello all. I own a primary school here in Nigeria. I tried to organize a summer disney trip for my pupils this summer but unfortunately the children were refused visa. The consular was a male just asked me two questions and typed like what seemed like forever then returned all their passports to me with the blue form it was really devastating ad the children and the whole school were so excited about the trip the irony of the matter was that the teacher who was to accompany them was issued a visa on same day but as attended to by another consular. However here is my fear. I have a valid US visa. In fact i just renewed in April and I have been to US severally both alone, with my siblings and my own biological kids. I am going on a summer vacation with my biological kids this month but on the day my pupils were refused the man asked for my passport which i gave him. he checked for my details and input some things on the system from my passport then typed for a while before giving my passport back to me. I am hoping this won't have any effect on me at the port of entry when i go this summer. Don't know if the refusal of the pupils could have any effect in my visa or whatever he was he was typing with the use of my passport info. Been so scared of this trip though I have never had any port of entry issue before. Was still in US this June, was just asked what i came to do, how long and was stamped in. |

Thank you so much. If they don't require an interview then how do I go about their visa processing? I have a visa already, so I am not applying with them. They just got their passport renewed and one just got a passport. What do you advice I do. |
Firstly, as a general rule, kids who are 13 and younger, they wouldn't need to attend an interview. But consular officers have discretion to require an interview. The VO may ask that you submit documentation stating: the purpose of your trip; ability to pay all costs of the trip; and intent to depart the US after the trip. You and the Kids' passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the period of stay in America. Since the purpose of the visit is tourism, the other 4 kids would need the B-2 visa. Thank you so much. If they don't require an interview then how do I go about their visa processing? I have a visa already, so I am not applying with them. They just got their passport renewed and one just got a passport. What do you advice I do. |

Hello good people. I run a school here in Nigeria and would like to take some of our pupils on a summer trip to disneyland. I am about to book the appointment but would like to know if there are certain things to expect from the VO. I just renewed my own visa, I have been to US 4 times on my previous visa both alone and with my children. My 3 kids all have the US visa too and I have travelled with them. The number of pupils going are about 4. I hope the small number wont be a disadvantage. What suggestions do you have on ensuring a successful interview. Thank you. 1 Like |

Hello house. I have a B1/B2 visa. I've been to US 4 times. However, I want to go for a 3 months course. Does a 3 months course qualify for student F1 visa or I can go on my visiting visa. Thanks. |
Thank you kcheerful. I tried cancelling the appointment, but it was stated that if I cancel the appointment then I have exceeded the limit and will have to pay a new fee for a new appointment. This is my first cancellation. Confused much [/quote But how did you get the ID you used for submitting the appointment? |
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by kcheerful(f): 10:08am On Apr 03, 2015 |
bugativeron: Next time you book through booking.com. Its free booking and cancellation for most rooms. They most likely won't ask for ur hotel booking but if ur mind tells u to hold it along. Go and book thru booking.com. Check for that same hotel on booking.com You might be lucky to find it. But if you don't book another one. |

harleybee: Whao! That's a tough one O! You will first cancel your booking. After cancelling it, you'll go and fill your DS160 form. You'll then rebook another interview date and while rebooking, you'll change your ID number before submitting. Or else u'll need to pay another money cos dy won't permit u with 2 different IDs. All the best |

I've heard so much about them. In fact I have a friend that was sent back cos he didn't have cash on him and he didn't have a connecting flight ticket to his final destination which he explained he had enough money on his card and he couldn't book local flights from Naija and intended booking in US. A friend that went to have her baby, they took her to a room, physically counted the cash she claimed she had, all sorts of questions and interviews, delayed her, etc before finally allowing her. Infact I won't want to bore you with more. Came in thru atlanta too yesterday, even though it was my 3rd time in US and I was with my 3 kids. The man didn't even act like he noticed I've been to US before. See questioning and interview, pass the one dy asked me at embassy. Why are u coming to US How long are u staying Where would u be staying. What do u do How many pupils do u have? (cos I said I own a school) What's the school structure What classes do u have? Who is the director? So who will run the school while u're here (cos I said I run the school myself) How much cash do u have on you? (I told him 1,900 dollars.) For you and 3kids! In New york! New york is a very expensive state. That won't go far. I told him I had more money on my master card that what he asked was physical cash. He looked at the kids and was... What of their dad? Why isn't he on this trip? Etc. Etc. Etc. I was like..... kilode!!! All the while he had a straight look. After he finally started to stamp our passport he now started gisting, laughing and playing with the kids. And I hear other boarders are not like that. Infact people who live in US sabi atlanta boarder. Not the best especially for 1st timers. Na first timers dem dy do serious dapada for. |

Good morning pals. Please I applied for visa for my kids on the basis of taking them to Houston on vacation. Houston tickets are way beyond now. So we changed our mind and decided to go to New york instead. I've been to Us twice last year but it's the first time for my kids. Do you think there can be any issues at poe as regards change to itinery. |

keni: I have a friend that was sent back at poe for this O! Cos they said the conference was passed so what was he still coming to do. That it means he must have used to conference as a lie to get visa. For US, ur first visit is very sensitive at poe, subsequent visits, u fit say u wan come piss sef (lol). If the dates are passed, I don't know what u'll do. Let other more knowledgeable tell us. My friend's visa was cancelled. He said a couple who claimed at the embassy were coming for a wedding, that came after the wedding were blacklisted and banned for 10yrs. So be careful. 1 Like |

darlingboi: You must say what you have on ur ds160 form. If the date has changed u'll explain to the officials at poe. That's if it's not a conference. It it's a conference, u must go on the date specified on ur form, if it's vacation u're free to move dates. Except u want to fill another form and rebook ur interview which means paying another fee. 1 Like |

So long as he goes in at the time of the conference don't see any problem. The first time I went to US. I applied and actually attended the conference but it was easter so I spent my easter there. The conference was for 3 days, I stayed 3 weeks. I know a couple that applied for conference too and didn't attend but travelled for the conference period. They've travelled severally after without issues. Major thing is u travel on dates u filled in ur Ds160 |

I mailed the embassy about my son's name and they said i'll need to pay a new visa fee and new appointment. A friend says I should still try and take him there all the same and hear what they did say directly. Since his names are correct on his appointment page and payment page. Really confused now |

The name on my son's passport is OLUSEYI but I wrongly filled SEYI in his ds160 form. Someone says it's doesn't matter since he's still a minor. What's your take on this pls as I have submitted the appointment form bearing the DS160 number. What do I do? Thinking of sending a mail to the embassy to notify them and printing out the mail along with the form. |

Thanks so much Chloe7. For my husband can I simply say he works with a FMCG company (GUINNESS NIG PLC) and festive periods are their peak so he wont be able to have time off work then but we are planning another vacation in summer which he's sure to be a part of. As per the state, I already submitted their DS160 before seeing this thread and I didn't pick one of the states I had visited, I previously visited New York, DC and Maryland but I filled in Houston. The reason for Houston is I hear they have a nice weather and I love to be there too. Hope it doesn't matter. I have done a lot of research on places of interest to visit in Houston, Downtown Aquarium, Houston zoo, children's museum, We did take a Houston tour too. I filled in my husband name in their DS160 as the person sponsoring the trip. Would I need to hold my statement of account too or my husband's own alone would be fine. what do you think? |

yes. we spent our 2013 Christmas in Accra Ghana and last Christmas in Cape coast also in Ghana. can you please help with ideas of responses to give when asked "what and why" the US visit. Is there any particular supporting document I need to hold? A friend advised they go in their school's uniforms. what's your take on wearing school uniforms or home clothes. thank you |
