Bro, don't let anyone tell you, you can't do something. You won't be the first person working to sponsor himself through school in Canada and you won't also be the last. Your program allows for 6 months coop which is good for you to make some bucks, and you could also take a further semester off if need be to get more.

If you can scale the hurdle of visa processing then good for you. Come here and devise legit means of sponsoring yourself
bros thank u so much .I never knew I could take a semester off.dats a very brilliant one.i would do wht u just said .Thanks u r more than too much

I'll still advice u get your full tuiton for 2years before u leave Nigeria, don't go with the intention of studying and hustling, what if you don't get a good enough job? What if your work load in school doesn't even give u time to relax more less work,I believe a course like yours will be time consuming and demanding. So just prepare before u go to avoid "had I known" stories.
thanks for ur advise ma.i wil think of a way of making the money here

one thing iv learnt from life is ..where there is a will..there surely will be a way...another thing is to be realistic. It is possible to work and fund your fees if u r determined and hard working...the co-op route Will significantly aid u ..if u get a good firm to work with...summer time when u can work unlimited hours too....but then u must take into consideration how much your fees are....I have a friend in MUN who pays his bills himself...through co-op and summer jobs....but that's cos tution at MUN isn't so expensive.....
the school fees is 15790dolls

I did chemical engineering in my bsc and am going for chemical production and power engineering technology in Lambton college. The course has a 6months coop but that's after 3 semesters

pls bro am inspired.can u share more light on this ? Hw does ur friend do it so that people like me woukd be inspired and learn from it

1. Hi vicarsenal, I got admission to Seneca college for September 2015. Is it compulsory I pay my tuition before I apply for visa? Will VAC officer frown at my visa app if I don't pay cos I actually don't want to pay my tuition until I get the visa.

2. I really would like to know if it's possible to raise money for Msc (1yr). I have enough money for my PG program, tuition, accom., and upkeep. The Msc program fee is 18,000+ CAD. Can I work while doing the PG program to raise such amount in 1yr?

So what do u think? huh undecided
I dnt really know about this much but wht I know is dat for u to get higher chances of getting ur TRV u will pay part of the school fees as stated in ur admission letter and then apply. From the advise I got.they said u can't make ur tution fee while studying in canada

In my opinion, your best shot is to gather the tuiton for the duration of 2years before u embark on going, then hustle your living expenses. Or switch to a one year programme in your school
thanks u too much

I did it all here in naija. If you can get a year program in Lambton switch to that. But if you can't you can apply to other schools. I applied to 4 schools, Seneca College, Humber College, Red River College, Centennial college. Got admissions in all. Seneca gave me admission without even paying any app fee
. You can check them out, a nice school.
thanks bro.well said

Why not go for a year program. I was in your shoes too, I switched to another school for a year PGD. Financial aspect is now settled.
U mean u applied to a 2 year program here and went to Canada and on getting dia .u applied to a year program in canada?

Well I spoke with a friend at Humber. The advise I gave you is what he gave me. During Summer there's more time to work and all, what's the probability that you will be able to get the entire tuition for the session?

Progressive elaboration as your program continues implies that there will be other costs you didn't even plan for.

You are not alone my friend. Be stubborn about your goals but flexible with your plans.
well said man.truthfully am very stubborn about my goals in schooling in canada but u know u hv to hid to people's advice before u cry had I know .I never been to canada so dats y am asking lots of questions to know hw the system is
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by kciano: 9:18am On Feb 21, 2015
Bamz:
Hustle here to get full tuition. Trust God to rough it out for your bills when you get there. You have peace of mind knowing you're not hustling for your tuition when you start to study.
thanks man.am doing a 2 years course.i can at least squeeze out money for 2 semesters dat is 1 year but I dnt hv money for the following year.wht do u think about it .Should I proceed with paying the ist semester fees. Am just confused

1. The admission is legit, Maple is Lambton's representative in Nigeria.

2. It is not possible to hustle in canada and survive as a student. When school is in session you can only work 20hours per week, and more when on holidays.
The money u make will be sufficient for your bills alone.
bros thanks u too much. So the best shot is to back out and not to start paying first semester tuition fee since I no get the money to pay the rest when I get dia?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by kciano: 7:20am On Feb 21, 2015
My good people in canny .@fhemmy, Pchax, akani and Co and any one who has testimonies and experience should asnwer.
1.i just got admission to lambton college in ontario through maple education, though i applied through them.lambton college forwarded my admission letter to them directly and they nw sent it to me. Want to know if this admission is legit cos I thought the school is meant to send me the admission letter directly.

2.please is it possible to survive in Canada and hustle ur school fees urself when u get dia? I can only pay first semester tution fee when I get dia. Please from experienced people has anyone being in this shoe where he doesn't have anyone and he has to pay school fees through hustling over dia?

Use both of them. Your maternal uncle as the main sponsor, ur brother as co-sponsor.
Your uncle could aswell state he will be responsible for ur tuition fees while your brother accomodation nd living expenses..my thought tho.
thanks.u too much
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by kciano: 6:14pm On Feb 17, 2015
Guys please (yzzz, pchaxx, phemmy and other experienced guys in the house )which one gives higher chances of getting TRV as a sponsor?
1. your maternal uncle with 50million (different surnames with me and also no old pictures to show that he is my uncle)
2. your brother with 4million (the same surname with me)

pchax:
Hey Kciano, if you checked out my document, the first page of my dad's document can serve as a letter of introduction (and that of my in law too). A letter of introduction should basically do the following:

1) Show the sponsor knows you (biological relationship or otherwise)
2) Show WHY the sponsor wants to sponsor you (Motivation)
3) Point out that the sponsor has the means to sponsor you from a brief explanation of his occupation.

You can choose many formats to package your application just make sure that your letter of introduction reflects the above 3.
Best of luck!

Pchax ,God bless u, we need people like u here. I so much admire ur SOP every day, every time. U r very smart. I never knew u stil come to this thread. Welcome back. I will be firing u questions soon. am still preparing my documents..

Boss kindly do it ursef, I honestly don't think maple have any connection, is a 'no brainer' if u have all ur documents probability of getting visa will be high, ma colleague @work used maple and they just refunded her $2000 because she was denied, she lost the 160k application fee, go tru old posts n ask necessary questions, too many guru in the house that can help u..infact they r so good i feel they invented fire!
Get admission first, gather ur papers b4 u start thinking of how u wanna apply..cheers
thanks bro.u too much
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by kciano: 5:02pm On Feb 06, 2015
I have been reading this thread from part4 - part7. I have learnt a lot. I am yet to get my admission letter. i went to maple education and they told me that they have a connection in the canadian embassy that they pay 1500CAD for a successful visa. does this mean they have better chances of securing visa for people? secondly i want to apply myself cos i dont hv the amount of money Maple is calling, i am being indecisive on the type of route to take (online/paper) because so many documents i hv to submit.

Shey una know say that online submission wont clearly show the notorization and stamps of documents submitted and will need scrutiny before being processed.

So whts the best bet? wht do u guys think from experience?
