For stopovers, I think Qatar and Emirates are cheap if you don't mind the long wait.

John8000: I heard every applicant who got an sms or email on friday or saturday,31st and 1st, confirming them to pick up their passport were held up @ ikeja vfs office. The population queue for collection is choking.. Confirmed source has it that BCH requested the whole package to be sent back to Abuja. So if you one of those who got an sms or last friday or saturday, pls check with VFS for further information.. No one knows the main reason for the call back but according to a VFS staff, he claimed it was a technical fault.. Pls if you have more info about dis.. Pls share. Thanks

Thanks be to God for all those who has gotten their visa;donxavier,dharkchild,futuredon etc etc(I could go on and on);its been a huge encouragement to me. I also submitted on the 7th of August but only got sms once;the day I submitted;my heart s literally pounding n my chest,I pray to share my Testimony as my mentors have done on dis thread...

Donxavier: I submitted today. Got there around 1pm and I finished 3.30pm. It went well. The only thing i have to add is that it seems submitting the CAS statement is compulsory, cos the officers checking the document requested for it and mandated that i include it in my package. I learnt it's probably going to take 20 working days to process, that's a full month because it's 'rush hour' time.
You pay 78030 for the Visa fee, 400 for the sms fee and 500 for processing fee totaling 78930, that's if you re paying at the VAC. Only one passport photograph is needed and it's better to take it opposite the VAC just before you enter so that you are sure it meets the UKBA requirement. No need to go with bags cos you wont be allowed in with it.. Just pack your documents in a My clear bag or brown envelope, you would be given a bag to pack it there. The only documents you wont photocopy are the Visa forms, Bank statements, Invoice, Passport photographs and any document directly addressed to the BHC or BDHC.For All other documents, one photocopy of each is required.
At the end of the whole process you would be given a computer generated reference number that you can use to track your application online. Also it would be used to collect your International passport back when it is ready.

U are fine and justwise is right, but I would still advice u go with a print of your CAS. my CAS clearly started that there was no need to submit as the information is meant just for filling my application and a copy of the CAS had been sent to the embassy.

On getting to lekki VFS the attendant insisted I printed out my CAS to be submitted with other documents, I argued that it was not required but he just insisted in a rude but polite manner.

Had to pay N1000 to print 2 pages there something I could have done free our N20 at home. It wouldn't cost anything, just take it along.

The bank told me to write an application for a reference letter so I did that(mean while the funds in my account was still counting). I went to d bank to collect it today and d date on the reference letter was dated 3rd august 2012(friday) which was d 28th day of d funds in my account...though I printed d statement today 6th august;is this a problem?

As long as the CAS number has been entered in the form you don't need to submit the CAS letter.

Other documents are ok.

My CAS letter
Documents used to get the CAS(it was shown on the letter. I laminated them because they were a little old)
My bank statement(in my name) and bank letter(Reference letter. I was charged for this and for printing my statement so it reflected on the bank statement)
My Int passport(stained on d back with a little groundnut oil)
Filled VAF 9 and appendix 8 form
Is this alright or am I missing any thing? Pls I need ur advice. Thanks

Much as it's advisable to leave the money in the bank until a decision is made on the application, UKBA doesn't check the balance on the day they go for verification as they are certain information the bank is not obliged to divulge to them. What they do is to practically send a copy of the statement you provided with other details eg DOB to the bank to confirm the authenticity of same. They can also request for the contact details of the account holder if the feel they need to contact same. I know a couple of people who have made withdrawals after submitting their applications but I do seriously advise against that just incase one is refused and needs to reapply ASAP.

Anyone that sacrifices to meet the 28 day rule then after submitting d app can't WAIT for 3 weeks(without withdrawing the money) to get d visa has just shot him/herself on the leg!

I was able to get some answers after reading most of the thread but not all. The bank said they will issue me a letter of reference is this ok? so I am using my bank statement for my application,should I fill self or my father as my sponsor in d app form, thanks.

Abeg make una see me see solution o,my school has refused to issue my CAS documents,can u guess why? They have refused my Internet printout TOEFL IBT result sheet!they re asking me to order my original certificate,the one containing my picture from TOEFL,and this will take 4weeks minimum to get to Africa,this is absurd o,na now they one tell me,ONE month to my resumption date...abeg guys wat can I do,how can I convince them that the TOEFL internet printout is acceptable?

That is not a good idea, is either you have the whole money or you don't. If LEDGER-2.4M appears on the bank statement you will be submitting to the embassy then its a red flag.

What if the embassy did not call the bank?

I went to d bank nd they said the statement read CLOSING BAL - 2.4M. (I checked using my ATM card d first time,dats hw I got to find out abt d ledger thing),so is this ok? Wat abt my quest abt my passport?

Yes its a good idea to print out your TOEFL score, as long as the print-out contains all the vital info then you will be fine.
