My cousin that won is a unilag graduate and the wife is a JSS3 drop out
Is it compulsory the wife(beneficiary) should have @ least O'levels as well

Have been trying to figure it out.
@ all pls assist with info

It is not compulsory for the wife to have a WAEC certificate or meet any 2 years work experience requirement because she is a beneficiary, she is not the petitioner. Her greencard is merely derivative. She is not the person that won.

Kunlexymoore: First of all, I want to thank God for His faithfulness towards my family. My wife (Shewen4God)won the visa we both played as singles a week to our wedding. When the result came out, we needed to be sure she could add the rest of the family (we had a one month old baby then) to it, so we sent a mail to KCC which they replied in the affirmative. Then the journey began. We sent the forms to KCC including our marriage certificate, our daughters birth certificate and the likes as requested by them. We then started going through a number of forums online (including Nairaland)to learn especially from people in similar situations as ours (played as singles but later got married). A particular nairalanders testimony (Imcool) is worthy of note and really encouraged us likewise many others.

Now to the testimony. Our interview was yesterday. We had a 10am appointment so we got there at about 8am. We were asked to wait under the tree till about 9:30am for immigrants call-up. We knew we had a challenge of how to feed our 1 year old baby since we were not allowed to go in with liquids. That was later sorted out as we had to drop the baby's bag with someone after the third attempts when we were called to line up by 9:30am. We went through the normal security checks and were given an initial tally number and my wife (the primary applicant was given a form to fill). We were later led through another security checks (airport style) into the main hall after handing another tag to us. We later went to pay at window 22 and then my wife's name was called at Windows 17 where we submitted our documents. My own credentials were not asked for at all (other than my medical report, police report and birth certificate) except my wife's since she was the primary applicant. Close to two hours later, our number beeped on Window 13 (the nicest of them all I believe and a bit elderly). Window 16 was shut "
'permanently'. The interview lasted just a little above 10mins. Though he asked a number of questions, they were straightforward questions. Our interview experience went like this:

CO: (Addressing the two of us) Raise your hands and swear that you are going to say nothing but the truth
Both of us: Yes we will!
Then we did the fingerprint stuff.
CO: (Talking to my wife) You give the baby (who was already sleeping - interceeding for us smiley) to your husband.
I was asked to sit somewhere. The good thing was my wife was audible enough as requested by the CO so I had an idea of the questions asked.
CO: Why do you want to go to America?
Wife (Shewen4God): I like to go to America to learn new things, contribute my quota and also help people; which I love doing.
CO: What are you doing presently?
Wife: Since I stopped work due to the marriage policy of our company, I focused on and concluded my MBA programme last year and since then I've been looking for job while learning some new trades like hairmaking and beads making
CO: What's your highest qualification?
Wife: I wrote PGD on the form sent to KCC but I now have my MBA
CO: Where did you meet your husband?
Wife: We met in my former office in 2009. We were colleagues.
CO: Did you play the lottery together?
Wife: No, we played separately as singles since we were not married then
CO: Where did you spend your honeymoon?
Wife: Ghana
Co: Oh I've not been to Ghana before
Wife: It's a nice place
CO: How long did you spend there?
Wife: 4days
CO: What other places has your husband been to?
Wife: Dubai
CO: For official purpose?
Wife: No, for vacation
CO: Has your husband married before and does he have other children other than your daughter?
Wife: No
Co: What about you?
Wife: No
CO: Please call your husband and have a seat

I took my turn and he confirmed the questions he asked my wife and few other ones from me
CO: How did you meet your wife?
Me: Met her through another colleague in her office and chatted her up
Co: Did you play the lottery as well?
Me: Yes I did. I did not win but my wife won
CO: Did you play it together?
Me: No we played separately
CO: Do you have some pictures of your wedding?
Me: Yes I do and brought out our wedding album and started opening the album
CO: Who is this? Where was it conducted? Is it a church? Where are your parents and hers?
Me: I answered him (Methodist Church) and showed him our parents picture
CO: Who made this album (Photobook)?
Me: My friend, he's a photographer
CO: Its nice
Me: Thank you sir
CO: What do you do where you work (bank)?
Me: Public Sector Department and described what we do

The CO then brought out two white sheet of paper and asked that I call my wife, which I did. He circled an address and asked that we pick up our visas next friday. We were so happy and my wife even shouted "God bless America" out of excitement and people sitting down had a good laugh. We bless God for His faithfulness from the beginning of this journey till now. Truly, like we say here....God is involved! We also like to thank good people in this forum who shared their testimonies, gave us wonderful advices and insights as regarding the various stages of processing. It made our job easy. Gentiger, Imcool, Demolang, Temmytanny, Godhelpmeoo, Neroxp (used your testimony as a prayer point), Spoonder, Jamaicanlady, Odunmanuel, Mercy 2013, Chuk 87, Kevwe_flex, Roodboy, Junkerhill and many of you guys too numerous to mention. Welldone and I say God bless you. See you @ the top!

Congratulations. I have been wondering what took you so long. Glad to know you brought good news. Welcome to America!

seal777: QUICK ADVICE PLEASE.

I won the previous edition of the Visa lottery, went through the process and got my visa.

I got married to my then fiancee weeks before i left Nigeria with the hope of filling for her thereafter.

Out of curiosity and Since application for 2014 edition closes before my interview, i entered for the 2014 Visa lottery which result came out few days ago as married and also WON.

Whats the faith of this outcome as it concerns my wife, since i played as married and i am already in the US as a beneficiary of an existing 2013 DV Visa?.

I am afraid there is nothing you can do since it is you that won again in DV2014 and not your wife. You are the petitioner as the winner of the lottery, your wife cannot proceed to send the forms since she is a mere beneficiary.

Of course, you can buy a one-way ticket for your brother. But return tickets are usually cheaper. I don't know the cheapest airline but I'll suggest you try and compare prices on wakanow.com or go to airline counters at the airport to find the cheapest ticket.

Hahaha... this is really interesting, so tell me this English language teach, you have repeatedly accused me of lacking English language comprehension, may i ask you how exactly? Because i did not interpret your begging as a 'joke'? Because i did not feel the woman's emotion about leaving her child behind means i don't understand English language? Really? And you are a supposedly a lawyer? Do you actually know what understanding English language means?

Continue to speak nonsense in bad grammar. That is your headache, not mine. When all is said and done, I am the one with a degree in Political Science, a degree in Law and a masters of laws from Harvard University. I am a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria with right of audience in all courts in Nigeria. I am way out of your league, small boy. Deal with it! Serious bad belle dey worry you! I won't waste my time answering you any more.

Oh yes! its now a joke, i knew you are going to look for a cheap excuse for your miserable crime aspiration. You were practically begging a winner here to marry you in two different occasions. Degree? What degree? People like you bring shame to decent lawyers ( that is if you are actually one) I don't need a prophet to tell me that you are an individual with a questionable character.

Like I said you probably dropped out. Who was practically begging a woman to marry him? Wow, you read something and inferred a meaning that suited you from it. I bet you have an F9 in English. The woman was seeking advice on how she could go to the US with her son whose name was not included on the entry application. And I suggested she could get married and claim the child is her husband's from his previous marriage. I jokingly said, 'you can marry me...LOL' Now did you really imagine in your little non-functional brain that that was not a joke and that the woman was really going to marry me? You really cannot comprehend simple English! The woman said there was no way she could go to America and leave her son behind. I only advised her. I remembered idiotic you telling her not to include the child by all means. I laughed that day because you did not understand her question and thus her predicament because you simply could not comprehend simple English. She won't go if her son cannot go with her. So you harped on about how she will be denied the visa if she includes her son...as if she cares! Abeg go back to school. That is my advice.

Silly cow, you know i was not referring to Husmern's case, i have being following your post since May 1st when the lottery result came out and in at least 2 occasions you have suggested paying a lottery winner 1million to marry you so as to include you in the application.

This is coming from somebody who claimed to be a lawyer, what a shame.

Man, you are indeed a retard! You cannot comprehend simple English. I was making a joke. And any educated person who can read and understand knew what I meant by what I wrote. You simply have no sense of humour or you are so poor you are tempted because it was an obvious joke. Otherwise why would I say, 'I bet your mouth is watering. Thief...LOL' Abeg go back to school. Maybe bad belle dey worry you. You dey beef me because I am a lawyer? I earned it. If you want a law degree, go back to school for it. Your have the English comprehension ability of a six-year-old!

Every effort should be made to keep people like you with dodgy character out of any decent place. You are looking for a lottery winner to marry you for a fee so as to take you to America, you will not get that here,

Hahahahaha, you are a fool! You must have flunked English while in school because it is so apparent you cannot understand simple English. So I want to marry Husmern, a man like myself? Really? Idiot. I see the highest point of your achievement is being made a moderator. You get drunk on your little power. For your information, I visit US every year for holiday.

Justwise or is it Justfoolish? You are beginning to really irritate me. Why the hell did you keep deleting or hiding my posts? Are you crazy? You are mad I asked for the email address of Husmern because I need some information from him? I have read on other threads about your dictatorial tendencies. You are either too foolish to comprehend simple English or you are always on some substance that is beclouding your judgement!

Thumbs up for Gentiger. But please, let me add. Avoid shopping on credit at all costs. Good credit history is desireable but most people are irresponsible with money. Before they know it, they are wallowing in credit card debts. As for loans for schooling, be prepared to pay the loan back for the better part of your life. So as Gentiger had said, don't go and study some fancy course nobody needs. Barack and Michelle Obama just finished paying back their student loans a few years ago.

My younger brother with his fiancee also won the dv lottery with case number 3k. To crown everything, one of my best frds and his elder brother also won the lottery with case number 13K and 9K respectively.

Wow. Congrats! What is the probability of this happening? You guys are either extremely lucky or selection was not so random afterall.

Allybert:

Maintain your status. If you get married after the release of the DV lottery result, your chances of getting the Visa is very narrow. But if you maintain that you are single and meet all the requirement, you stand a better chance of getting the visa. Your son in question was definately born before you played the lottery so including him now will automatically ruin your chances. You can file for your son after you have gotten the visa. Be wise.... Don`t gamble with the opportunity....

She can file for the son she does not have when she was granted the greencard? Better be truthful or outsmart them. Once you claim you do not have a son, then you do not have a son. They have your information for life and will review it if and when you file for anybody in the future. I have been fillowing this thread for a long time now, getting married after you won does not diminish your chances. They don't expect your life to stop just because you won the lottery. That is why they ask one to update them if one's status changes.

Pls do what you think is best for you. As for me, I know there is no certainty in life. Life itself is a risk. DV lottery is luck, pure and simple. You are not even guaranteed of being issued a visa after winning. One must take his chances.

So they never denied any single before? Didn't you read the post of a married woman that went alone for her interview just last week because her husband was not interested and was granted her visa? There are no hard and fast rules. You can only prepare well, pray and gather your documents. Personal favours do count! What if the woman had chickened out and didn't go for the interview because the rules say all persons whose names are on the 2NL must be present at the interview?

How old is he? Perhaps I'll marry you afterall...LOL. You can try your luck by including the name of the child and going with him. God may just favour you. The rules say a DV selectee must have an high school diploma(that is, WAEC), yet I read the story of a guy who had only primary school education and was given his visa.
