Seun: Fellow Nairalanders,
Nairaland loves Igbos and Niger Deltans very much. The thought of being separated from them for any reason is unbearable to us, so we have decided that we will reject any attempt by anyone to use Nairaland to promote the idea of removing Igbos and Niger Deltans from Nigeria.
We have updated rule 9 of Nairaland to reflect this decision. It now says:
I'd like to urge all Nairaland members to respect and obey rule 9. Mynd44 is in charge of enforcing it. If you break this rule, you'll be banned.
Thanks, Seun (Founder Of Nairaland). . Does it not amount to BIAS? Being biased is against God and man. Nigeria can be promoted without any consequence but promoting Biafra will attract a ban. It smacks of PARTIALITY. You cannot force marriage on any unwillingly partner. This type of thing does not happen in the civilized world. A people must have a RIGHT TO BE HEARD. It's a universal law of human right. Anything short of this is nothing but JUNGLE JUSTICE. |

irondome: The bulk of payment included arrears amassed by GEJ since 2014.
Putting this in the right perspective, it's simply yet another case of Buhari cleaning up GEJ mess after salary debt crisis.
Honestly, if it's taking a Buhari, who sold oil at $40p/b to offset a debt acrued by a GEJ, who sold the same oil at over $100(for over 4years); it's really a shame on GEJ . This Bubu apshit will not stop deceiving Nigerians. Anyway, they are deceiving those that willing chose to be deceived. GEJ removed subsidy 2012 Jan 1st, you guys, brainwashed lots, anti-Jonathan mobs were mobilized to Ojota for 12days, eating and dancing being entertained by your slavemasters. Today the fuel subsidy has come to hunt them and they are blaming GEJ again. Now I ask, if this one is arrears of GEJ's debt what about 297 billion that was paid before? When will Buhari's regime start paying their own debts. Some Nigerians are so gullible and easy-to-be-deceived. They will keep blaming GEJ till the end of their tenure with nothing to show. |

No igbo man will become aggressive outside Igbo-land and if you decides to bring violent to Igbo-land, you have lessons of what can become out of your land from various places in the world. I've said it countless times, by demographic nature, Igbos are the least favored to become violent of any form. . Am sorry you don't know Igbos well. In the 90's in Kano Igbos dealt decisively with Hausa's and ever since they stopped attacking Igbos at will. Igbos will stand up to defend themselves anywhere in Nigeria when the need arises. Any other conflict will not be confined to Igboland. No region is immuned as u can c from boko haram activities. With our second largest population after indigenes everywhere we can turn it on and go on the offensive anywhere we are found. We are well organized as you can c from our village and town meetings everywhere in Nigeria. The Igbos can achieve anything once they made up their mind. Ruthless Guerilla warfare that will exterminate, decimate and chase out forces of occupation out of biafraland is a very viable option. |

THE BAYELSA ELECTION, A LESSON FOR THE IGBOS: I have been following events in the Bayelsa state since Saturday and I think it's high time we Igbos woke up and learn our lessons. What is happening in Bayelsa state shows that the Bayelsans have moved on. They are no longer tied to the apron of PDP and GEJ. That state is one of the smallest states in the country and it's the home state of the former president (GEJ), yet the result of the election held since Saturday have not been announced officially till now. I thought the PDP would have swept off the whole votes just like they did during the presidential election, but to my amazement the APC is also gathering considerable votes there. I know PDP may eventually emerge winner in the election, but my point is that we Igbos should wake up and stop crying more than the bereaved cos even the bereaved have moved on. Other regions have moved on and have even started integrating themselves into this PMB administration to ensure they remain relevant and not schemed out if things, while some of my people are still holding themselves down and throwing hate speeches here and there. Other region are already preparing for 2019, some are already gearing up for 2023, while my people have failed to arise and shake off GEJ and his failed administration. By 2019 now, we will begin to run helter-skelter and start last minute preparation and when we loose again, we will say we are hated by others but we forget that we are the ones holding ourselves down now that others are already preparing ahead. The Igbos have enjoyed more "juicy" appointments in the past 16 years of this democratic dispensation, yet none of the appointees or elected officials performed exceptional well for us to present him/her as presidential candidate. But look at the likes of Fashola, Fayemi, Kwakwanso, El Rufai, etc they are all potential presidential candidates going forward cos their achievements speak for them. Tell me the achievements of. Orji Uzor Kalu, T.A Orji, Sam Egwu, Chimaroke Nnamani, Mbadinuju, etc.... none of them made a mark in their various states, yet we leave them and keep pointing fingers to other regions and saying they are our problem. I advise we wake up and begin to align ourselves strategically with other region now cos we can never produce a president in this country if we continue like this. While some misguided elements are busy shouting Biafra, and claiming that South south is part of their Biafra, the southsouth have denounced the whole Biafra thing publicly and I understand that just last weekend, Nyesom Wike of River State, named a stadium in River State after Yakubu Gowon. Does that not tell you something ? The golden rule says 'DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WILL LIKE THEM TO DO UNTO YOU'..... Love begat love, hate begat hate. Don't expect love from others when you give them hatred, don't expect them to vote for your candidate when you keep calling them animals that live in the zoo. "Give and it shall be given unto you" whatever you give to others is what they will give back to you GOOD MEASURES, PRESSED DOWN, SHAKING TOGETHER AND RUNNING OVER. He who has ears let him hear, Wisdom is profitable to direct.... I rest my case... . I don't know what to call you. You are OBVIOUSLY IGNORANT and one of the mofos that are brainwashed into believing that the present demands for Biafran Nation is born out of GEJ's electoral loss. Bevista: A project of the magnitude of self-determination requires intellect, strategy, resources and alliances - something Odimegwu Ojukwu had in abundance yet grossly lacking in Nnamdi Kanu. I am yet to hear real discussions about the challenges that will be faced by a new country and how those challenges will be addressed. Instead, all I hear about is how Nigeria is a Zoo and how Biafra will be Eldorado.
The fact of the matter is that, beyond the PRIDE of self-determination, there are real issues that will spring up after the secession. Issues like Money & Banking, Millitary & Defense, Govt Revenue, Political imperatives, etc. Pretending that the grass will simply be greener on the other side is plain idiotic. Without a clear plan and strategy, there will be chaos.
Imagine that the SS does not join the breakaway. How does the new govt immediately have revenue to run its affairs? Will they start heavy taxing of its citizens right away? (Mind you, South Sudan - even with immediate oil revenue - are finding it extremely difficult). How will the people of Biafra get goods in and out of their landlocked country? A people whose comparative advantage is TRADE needs a large market - something the present NIGERIA offers in abundance (170m people). After the breakaway, will they all be trading among themselves.
If it will be possible for Biafra to suddenly become "heaven", then one would have been seeing right now the progress and advancement from that region. They can blame the FG all they like (and they have good reason to), but the region is being led by people from the region. If they already knew how to make things better for themselves, they would have already started.
My conclusion is that the success of the Biafra struggle is very dependent on the OIL and WATERWAYS of the south-south region. Anything short of that will be a total disaster. Unfortunately, the SS has made it abundantly clear that they are not willing to join that contraption. Strategically, it is better for SS to be in a country where there are 3 major tribes than a country where there is one major tribe. In the former case, if you are dissatisfied with one tribe, you can form alliance with the other(s) and dislodge the rogue tribe. In the case of Biafra, the Igbos will dominate till eternity. . OpenGames: I greet you all. May our days be long. I have watched with growing concern how this issue of Biafra, which started out as a joke, is beginning to gather momentum.
Please for the enlightened who sat at their parents knees and heard the stories of Biafra, you know that nothing good will come out of this. Yes in those days our people were killed like chickens by both northerners and westerners but did your parents tell you how their own village people and Biafra soldiers treated them when they made it safely to the village? Did they tell you of the abuse from those who had always lived in the village against those who ran back from different states? Did they tell you how Biafra soldiers were raping their own girls at will and using their powers to obtain any property that catches their fancy? Did they tell you of the 'agric' children raised on cerelac and golden morn that were dying like chickens at the hardship they endured? Do you remember stories of families and lineages that were wiped out at that time because all their children had died? Do you remember that even while we are still in Nigeria, we have been unable to stand as one and choose someone everybody can back and vote for? No everyone wants to be king and we have never been able to unite. Do you remember those called fake igbos and real igbos? Do you remember those called slaves, outcast and free born? Who have only been able to find peace, respect and acceptance in another tribe's state? Do you remember?
If you do remember, then you must realise that as things stand right now, having a country called Biafra will be a living hell for a lot of us. The discrimination between villages, towns, kindreds and states would come out in all its horrid glory. Don't you see brothers and sisters that if we have been unable to unite against outsiders then how on earth would we unite within ourselves alone? Who would be president? Okorocha, Amaechi, Ihedioha, Nnamdi Kanu? Who?
Then if all these fail to make us shun Biafra with all our might, then remember your children and grand children all over the country in another man's land that may be caught in a tribal war. Remember your relatives and friends. But most of all, remember that the children of those funding and agitating for Biafra are safely tucked away outside the country.
Ask only one thing of your leaders who ask you to go and fight and if they do this, by all means fight with them. Ask that they bring their sons and daughters to lead your 'peaceful protests'. My brothers, don't reward your parents for all their suffering in training you by sending your lifeless body to them. You are their hope for the future. Stay alive and fulfil their dreams.
For every other person who is not interested in this fight but chooses to keep quiet and watch the spectacle, know that your silence makes you complicit and someone you know and love somewhere may lose their life over this debacle. Come out en masse and fight off these trouble makers, make it publicly clear that this fight is not supported by every igbo man and woman, only a mischievous few who have no economic, financial or strategic plan for a seceded country.
Igbo Kwenu!! Kwe zuo nuu eeeee! !! Let us come together and invest in making our states beautiful and self sufficient. May God be with us. . Pessimism! Pessimism!! Pessimism!!! Slave mentallity. How well hav u even fared in Nigeria that make you feel you are and will be more comfortable in Nigeria than in Biafra. Your problem is that you are not sincerely thinking of our future generation. With the way things are going, in the next twenty years the Igbo race will lose their identity and religious faith and belief to Islamic fundamentalism. You may so blinded by parochial, selfish interests that you will not see. May God open your eyes. |

TunjiMsp: you don't speak for all ibo, you and some deluded fellows can go and annex the middle of river Niger . I think you are the deluded one here, infact u spoke like a deranged fellow. Majority of the Igbos are in support of Biafra Actualization. Besides you are not a Biafran so I advise you steer clear Biafran matters. Don't oppose Biafra. If you can't support at best keep quiet. Anybody that opposes Biafra has a tale of woes. If in doubt find out how these people died. Isaac adaka Boro, Ken Saro Wiwa and Obafemi Awolowo. Ask Obasanjo if he is enjoying his family. Ask Gowon if he is a happy and fulfilled man with what is happening in Plateau State. Beware. Food for thought |

porshuch: did Mandela say he will bomb south Africa? Did he make any treasonable comments? Did he request for weapons?
So don't compare Nnamdi Kanu to Mandela.
How dare you even compare NNAMDI to Mandela? I Na apu ara ka Nnamdi? Ewu! . How old were when south africans were fighting for their freedom? Obviously from ur comments u are a baby and yet you are already cursing and abusing. If you think Mandela was more civil than Nnamdi in his approach why did he spend 27 years in prison. Don't be deceived it is not about what Nnamdi said or did not say it is about the perception of the Igbo. It is about the system we find ourself in. Afterall even if Nnamdi said all those things some people that are superior human beings have not only said worst things but carried it out. Dogs and baboons will soak in blood. We will make Nigeria ungovernable and they actually carried it out. Ah ah! What has Nnamdi done wrong? He should not express himself again bc he comes from a supposed inferior tribe. What proof do u even have that Nnamdi said those things he is accused of? Do you know anything about simulation? I believe you have watched a film where Jesus is speaking Igbo and yoruba. Since a court granted him bail why didn't they release him? My brother open your eyes and see what is happening. When the cartoon of their mohammed is drawn in Denmark and they started killing the Igbos in the North what offence did the Igbos commit? Please be wise. |
