PoliticsRe: It Is Unlawful To Send The Fulani Herdsmen Out Of Delta - Okowa by keally: 5:02am On Jun 06, 2016
Chimdiebere:
– Delta state Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa defended the Fulani herdsmen invasion into other states– The governor also said they have the rights as the citizens of Nigeria to visit anywhere they deemed fit– Indigenes of the state decries their invasion and they urge the government to stop them from infiltrating into their farmlands. Amidst the call from all quarters to send the killer Fulani herdsmen packing from the southern states, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has said that it is unconstitutional to send the herdsmen packing from the state, saying every Nigeria has right to live in any part of the country. This is even as community members who participated in a town hall meeting in the state government house unanimously called for the evacuation of the herdsmen from every part of the state. In the town hall meeting where representatives of the Fulani herdsmen, security officers, comprising the state commissioner of police, Alkali Baba Usman, air force, the Nigerian navy and the army, Okowa said it was against the constitution of Nigeria to send the Fulani herdsmen out of the state.
He said since it is unconstitutional, he cannot make unconstitutional pronouncement against Fulani herdsmen, an action which he said could throw the state into a war zone.Though he concurred that criminal elements and kidnappers are among the Fulani herdsmen, he, however, said he cannot send them from the state. Delta state Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa Prior to his verdict, representatives of the communities including local government chairmen, community leaders, youth bodies, vigilante groups, religious organisations had urged the governor to send the herdsmen from the state, insisting that the Fulani herdsmen have wroth havoc in the local communities in the state. They gave lurid details of the hazards being perpetuated by the Fulani herdsmen which include raping women, manslaughter among other obnoxious acts in the rural communities.

As the meeting progressed, anger rose to a high pitch as the youths took to the microphone expressing their anger over the destructive tendencies of the Fulani herdsmen whom they said have become landlords in Delta communities. The community leaders described the Fulani herdsmen as ruthless, heartless and should not be accommodated in the state for whatever reason. Some of the community leaders said there is hunger in their communities as the people can no longer go to farm for fear of being massacred by the Fulani herdsmen in the bush. One of the youths said;“we are not begging them to stay in our communities, nor are we begging them to make peace with us. This is our land. We cannot be in our land and people from the north will come, take over our land and begin killing our people, no, we cannot take it.”Speaking on behalf of Chairmen of All Local Government of Nigeria, Delta state Chapter, Constantine Ikpokpo, Chairman of Isoko South, said he aligned with the view of the people of Delta who have unanimously agreed that the herdsmen should vacate the state for good. But, Governor Okowa turned down the argument of his people, saying the herdsmen invasion is not only peculiar to Delta State, hence he setup committees to liaise between the Fulani herdsmen and the community members.
but it is lawful for them to keep killing ur people, I used to think that you are intelligent...

ceo247frolic:
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara, has condemned the brutal murder of Mrs. Bridget Agbaheme in Kano State, saying all Nigerians must rise against this grievous act of lawlessness and impunity. He asserted that the perpetrators of the heinous crime must be fished out to face the full wrath of the law.

A statement issued by the spokesman to the Speaker, Turaki Hassan, quoted him as saying that there must be justice for the victim who was allegedly killed by a mob in a market in Kano State over allegations of blasphemy.

“We live in a society governed by clearly stated rules and laws. When such crimes of high magnitude, or any at all, are allowed to go unpunished for any reason, we risk descending into a state of lawlessness and anarchy where anyone can assume the role of judge, jury and executioner.

The rule of law must prevail. I urge all security agencies to ensure that they carry out a thorough investigation into the events that led to her untimely death and ensure that the perpetrators of this crime are brought to face the full wrath of the law”, he stated.

Calling for tolerance among Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, the Speaker noted that the peace and sanctity of Nigeria is not negotiable and as such, everything must be done to protect them insisting that the fundamental rights of citizens enshrined in the constitution must be respected by one all.

Dogara condoled with the family of the deceased and prayed that God comfort them noting that it was not only their grief but that of all Nigerians of goodwill and, indeed, lovers of humanity.

Naijabash:
The North Are Not Ready For Another War, Let’s Us Separate In Peace.- Ali Ndume Begs Biafrans.

Let us negotiate because violence will not help in our bid to separate, Senate Leader, Ali Ndume has cautioned the Indigenous People of Biafra and Niger Delta Avengers.
He said this while responding to questions on the rising agitation in the oil region of Southern Nigeria and the South Eastern Nigeria.

Ndume reminded the aggrieved youths that Nigeria first came into being by acts of negotiation by youths in the northern and southern part of Nigeria and if we can no longer stay as one it must not be pursued by acts of violence but to come together sit down and negotiate and not by force.
He, therefore, said if there should be division in the country, there must be negotiation among the different parts of the country rather than through violence and killings of innocent Nigerians and destruction of public property.
He blamed the elders of the region for not doing enough to advise their children.
IPOB, he said, as a group is only expressing its opinion but warned that it will not be proper for some persons to suppress other people’s view.

Also reacting to the call by the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, that Nigeria needs to be restructured, Ndume said the ex-Vice President was not wrong but pointed out that he was only expressing his views to which he is entitled. >>CLICK HERE FOR MORE AT SOURCE >>> http://lindaikejblog..com.ng/2016/06/the-north-are-not-ready-for-another-war.html
. Ndume must be very insincere. Why direct his so-called caution to Biafrans who have NEVER been violent instead of his fulani brother Buhari who is bent on unleashing violence on innocent unarmed people. Buhari is so heartless and wicked. He said he wants war, he invited violence, North can not escape what they have sown. It is pay back time. There was a window of opportunity opened through 2014 Conference but you and your brothers rejected it through your foolish wisdom because you are all in all in Nigeria. You have lost the opportunity, you will pay for all your atrocities against Biafra. Face it, don't be a coward.

If the army enter their homes and start killing them too now, you'll say they're killing innocent people. Are these not innocent soldiers?
Are you not the hypocrite here? Buhari is pretending to want to dialogue but on the hand sending all the military to the niger delta with Buratai threatening fire and brimstone. PoliticsRe: Blaming Fulani Herdsmen For Benue, Enugu Killings Absurd!!! Sultan Of Sokoto by keally: 5:54pm On May 01, 2016
CyberWolf:
An organisation led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has described as “absurd” and “unfortunate” the widespread insinuation that Fulani herdsmen are responsible for the attacks on villagers in Benue, Enugu, Nasarawa and other parts of the country.
The Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, a coalition of several Islamic groups in Nigeria, stated this on Sunday. The Sultan is the head of the JNI.
In the statement, signed by Khalid Aliyu, the organisation’s secretary-general, the JNI said it was shocked by the attacks.
“Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) received with great shock and deep concern the news of incessant killings and maiming of innocent lives and the destruction of public and private properties.
“Of particular concern are the brutal murders of people in Agatu-Benue state, Nnibo-Enugu state and some parts of Nasarawa state.
“It is indeed alarming that within few weeks, deadly attacks were reportedly unleashed while the perpetrators go un-arrested. JNI therefore condemns in strong terms these repeated heinous attacks and once again calls on the relevant security agencies to brace up to the trends, in order to put a stop to this ugly tide, as human lives are sacred and must be seen to be treated as so,” the statement said.
The JNI said the attacks were criminal in nature and should be treated as such.
“The repeated heinous acts of attacks are crimes against the citizenry and the perpetrators are therefore criminals and must be treated so.”
Foramfera
It, however, said the attacks were not carried out by Fulani herdsmen.
“It is indeed absurd and most unfortunate that certain groups or people ascribe the incidence on ethnic and/or religious premise and to whimsically apportion blame in order to batter the gradual restoration of peace and security in Nigeria,” it said.
The JNI, which commiserated with the victims of the attack, also called for “concerted introspection and commitment by relevant agencies to take proactive and effective measures in addressing this pernicious problem.”
Nigerians have condemned the attacks; and affected communities have blamed security agencies for not protecting them against their attackers who they said were herdsmen. Many Nigerians have also blamed President Muhammadu for not acting strongly enough to condemn the attacks and arrest the perpetrators.
Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, who criticised the presidency’s response, stated that “I have yet to hear this government articulate a firm policy of non-tolerance for the serial massacres that have become the nation’s identification stamp.”
The JNI, however, said the authorities have absolved the herdsmen, mainly of Fulani ethnicity, of involvement in the attacks. The JNI’s claim is contrary to that of a leader of the Fulani herdsmen who admitted to PREMIUM TIMES that they carried out the attack in Benue as a retaliation to the murder of some of their leaders
“Well, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State has debunked the rumours, likewise the Inspector General of Police has also debunked the insinuations over those being blamed,” the JNI said.
Read the JNI’s full statement below:
PRESS RELEASE
JAMA’ATU NASRIL ISLAM (JNI) CONDEMNS THE HEINOUS REPEATED ATTACKS IN NIGERIA AND CAUTIONS ON RUMOURS SPREADING
Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) received with great shock and deep concern the news of incessant killings and maiming of innocent lives and the destruction of public and private properties. Of particular concern are the brutal murders of people in Agatu-Benue state, Nnibo-Enugu state and some parts of Nasarawa state. It is indeed alarming that within few weeks, deadly attacks were reportedly unleashed while the perpetrators go un-arrested. JNI therefore condemns in strong terms these repeated heinous attacks and once again calls on the relevant security agencies to brace up to the trends, in order to put a stop to this ugly tide, as human lives are sacred and must be seen to be treated as so.
JNI and indeed all Nigerians, view the fall out of these repeated attacks, particularly the taking up of arms against other citizens as another trend of insecurity that portends grave danger to the Nation. We must not forget so soon the adverse effect of the so called Boko Haram group, that claimed the lives of many thousands innocent lives. Hundreds have been abducted, the males forced into insurgency and the females into slavery. Millions more are wallowing in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Nigeria and in Refugee Camps in neighbouring countries. Public and private properties worth trillions of Naira have been destroyed.
We therefore call for a thorough investigation by appropriate agencies in order to fish out the evil perpetrators, bring them to justice and forestall re-occurrence. The repeated heinous acts of attacks are crimes against the citizenry and the perpetrators are therefore criminals and must be treated so. It is indeed absurd and most unfortunate that certain groups or people ascribe the incidence on ethnic and/or religious premise and to whimsically apportion blame in order to batter the gradual restoration of peace and security in Nigeria. Well, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State has debunked the rumours, likewise the Inspector General of Police has also debunked the insinuations over those being blamed.
We must thus be cautious of packaging crimes on religious and ethnic garments. Crimes are abominable and whoever commits them is criminal. Security agencies should brace up in being proactive and utilize maximally intelligence reports in order to nip-in the board possible eruptions of security problems within and around communities.
Painfully, His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, JNI, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, on behalf of Nigerian Muslims, condoles the families of those who lost their lives and sympathies with all affected victims, and also calls for concerted introspection and commitment by relevant agencies to take proactive and effective measures in addressing this pernicious problem.
His Eminence the Sultan and President-General of JNI, extends profound condolences to the families of the affected victims, government and people of states that lost their loved ones in the unfortunate happenings.

Because he's no longer in power doesn't absolve him of 6 years of cluelessness. I don't understand why you people like to absolve criminals.
. If cluelessness means revamping railways that has been comatose for over 20years so be it. If reviving Nigeria textile mills Kaduna that have been closed for over 20years amounts to cluelessness no problems. If introducing Nigeria's automotive policy and rescucitating PAN Kaduna is a sign of cluelessness it's accepted. If defeating Ebola virus within 2months with minimum casualty of 7 is cluelessness to you, it then means you don't understand the definition of cluelessness. If turning Nigeria to the no 1 investment destination in Africa and Africa's biggest economy represents cluelessness it shows your lack of sincerity. If entrenching the rule of law and independence of the judiciary is cluelessness it means you are clueless yourself. If bequeating a truly independent INEC free from interference from the executive is cluelessness it shows that people like you are the problem of Nigeria. Under him Africa's biggest rice plant was established in Adamawa, Africa's biggest tomato puree paste factory was established, 14 federal universities was established, over 40yrs old fraud of fertilizer subsidy was eradicated, FOI bill was signed into law, I guess these are all manifestations of cluelessness. Man, be truthful and sincere for once. Only the truth can set you free.

Maybe you should wake up to the realities around you , this is Nigeria you don't just wake up one day and everything will be as smooth as it should be . The whole system needs overhauling and we all should work hard to make our systems work. Rights comes with responsibilities do your part and ask the government to do his , be a good citizen, obey traffic light, queue up when needed, pay your tax
. You guys will just keep deceiving yourselves to no end. You want things to be okay, the foundation is wrong but you people are busy putting up structures on the faulty foundation and expecting it to stand. You had the opportunity to correct it through the confab organized by GEJ in 2014, you guys hypocritically rejected it bc of dirty politics. Your insincerity is your bane in this God-forsaken country. Nigeria will pay for her evils.
