Some Foreign websites only need 3 things your card number, Security and expiry date. A good example is Aliexpress. Maybe the person that found the card used it to buy something on a foreign website.

You're still getting it wrong. LFP is not complicated, Felicity messed up by declaring wrong capacity, firstly; and secondly the BMS that failed isn't a nail in the coffin of the battery itself. It's just to replace the darn thing and work goes on.

As per the battery that died after 5 days, aside from the fact that the person may have abused the battery, a more plausible and likely reason is that Felicity did a bad job in the battery. If such company can declare false capacity, then I wouldn't take it past them that they could as well package rubbish/substandard stuff in that battery that failed.

That being said, no amount of Felicity fails will make me romance lead acid again except maybe for small jobs and experimentations. I like the freedom and rest of mind I have from nursing a battery as if I'm nursing a patient on bed, ensuring it gets the yèyé periodic equalisation or getting worried if it's unable to achieve float in any one day. You will even need to be giving some distilled water as if it's one ancestral diety that receives palm oil drops and libation, haba! s'ógun l'ayé ni?

And well, I just took delivery of two more 24v/105ah from a 9ja DIY supplier, one for me use and the other for a friend who also got interested in switching to LFP after his lead has served a little above 2 years. Well packaged even if not at a seeminly industrial look like the Felicity's but not bad nonetheless.

Like someone said, if we are to have only battleborn (hear the name sef sound like war, na only warriors like earthrealm fit buy am) available, the closest majority of us would still have gotten to LFP is to discuss it. And even though I can manage to, but I would feel imprudent putting that much down on a product whose price is probably overrated because it's not widely available and because it's from the west.

Tubular is ok..just needs topping up with distilled water every 3 to 6months..releases hydrogen sometimes..thus beta for outside or well ventilated area installation..
.hope ur inverter has equalization settings or editable charge voltage settings...

What type of charge controller do you have?.
Am guessing the cheap pwm 8k to 12k type.
When its sunny, take a picture of the screen of your charge controller...that will hopefully tell us your harvest.

Have a handle on your load. This is the key to a successful off grid life. Lot of people put too much focus on the solar, inveter, battery forgetting that the first and most important component is your load. You need to do proper energy audit because the load determines how your system should be designed vis a vis your financial budget. It is what would make you understand what is capable within a budget outline.

I don't have to do anything about my setup. The system runs itself because the load is fixed. I know how much power I draw everyday and how much my solar array is.

My setup can generate over 2.7kw or power from the sun, out of which the house load (during the day) ranges between 350-500w. Charging the battery to full (float) requires about 1000w (for about 2 hours it takes the battery to be full from a 80% state of charge)

This all means that I have lots of redundant power to play with. Thus inverter is setup the following way

Switch to solar during the day (when the battery is higher than 26v)
Switch to Nepa (if available) when the battery voltage drops to 24.5v (Usually at night or during cloudy stormy weather) and if Nepa is not available switch to battery.

Being on premium power and being guaranteed 20 hours of power everyday means that my battery is rarely used except for about an hour when the inverter uses battery until the battery voltage drops to 24.5 then it switches to grid. 24.5 for floaded tubular battery is at about 80-90% soc.
Thank you so much for your reply. Do you have any experience with luminous tubular battery. Is it good.

The battery I used back then is no longer in the market (Mercury Tubular Battery)

I currently use a battery with the same chemistry which I got from Lagos the name is Exide TI 750. It is also a tubular battery. I am already making plans to move to LifeP04.

My current battery is already doing 3 years easy and that is because the whole system is designed around a daily battery depth of discharge at 15-25% so the battery is almost always at between 80-100% full. This is whole the setup was designed (I basically run on solar during the day and rely on NEPA at night - leveraging on 20 hours premium power guarantee available in my area)
Thank you for the reply. How do I make sure that my battery depth of discharge is within the 15%-20%.

From all you've said I got about 3 points
1. You want a battery with high charging current.
2. A battery that is durable with longer cycle life
3. Cost effective

I'm certain that lithium ion phosphate (lifepo4) will work very well for you, except for the price aspect.
It comes with a very high cost but if you get a good one, it will pay off in the long run. If built to you spec, they can be charged and discharged at their rated current and can go 2000 cycles at 100% depth of discharge and still retain 80% of their initial capacity. Up to 5000 cycles at 80% DOD.

Not to say that, there are no other batteries within the agm, gel, flooded etc that are good. Actually there is but most of my research and test centered on lifepo4 so I can't give you device on the others but, if you chose to go for lifepo4 then, I can help out.
How much will it cost to buy 100ah lifepo4 battery.

Hi guys I made the transition from my base in abuja to lagos, as such I had to decommission for solar installation over there and sold it (for scraps) to neighbours. I intend to start from stretch a new installation. I have already gotten 9 x 355w Yingli Solar Panels and A Victron Smart MPPT 150/100 Charge controller, I would be reusing my Axpert 3KVA 24v Inverter from the previous project. My problem now is batteries. I am at a loss which battery to go for..

My traditional choice are Tubular Batteries (Flooded) but they can only take limited number of currents.. and with a setup able to output over 100A my fear is even with opportunity loads, I would still be over charging those batteries almost on a daily.

AGM seems to be the way to go and Yes everyone says Quanta truth is Quanta's own datasheet https://www.quanta.in/images/pdf/Quanta-SF-Brochure.pdf does not cover itself in glory It states a between a 500 - 700 cycles at 50% depth of discharge this is about 2 years max of useful battery life.. economically I don't find it viable. I know people who have been using their battery for more than 2 years and still rave about it. But when a manufacturer says their product will last 2 years if used ideally.. I pay attention.

I am also considering ThunderVolts 6v 400AH from solar deport, unfortunately there is hardly any official spec sheet on the battery, no manufacturer's details, no recommended charge voltage no nothing. Some asked about the spec sheet and got no reply. If anyone has used it before place share your experience

Fullriver is within my purview but most of the fullriver sold in Nigeria within the 200AH range are the HGL Model which are not designed for deep cycle application the DC model designed for deep cycle (hence the name) is only available in 260AH at a price point above my budget.

Monbat too has same issue, the model sold in Nigeria are not designed for deep cycle application (I can be wrong)

If anyone has suggestions on good AGM batteries please share.
Which battery did you go for. How long did it last. I need recommendation for a battery that will last for up to 3 years.

I have a similar set-up (1.6KVA - 24V) and I added 2 more batteries and it all cool.In my case my inverter has fast charging and power is relatively stable too at least 8-10hrs a day.

I was scared that the Inverter might not be able to fully charge the 4 batteries optimally, so I bought a 50Amp smart charger to support the charging excercise. The 50Amp charger is just there without being put to use because the inverter does the charging perfectly for now.

In my opinion, your inverter should charge the batteries if equiped with fast charging and you do have light for not less than 8-10 hours a day. Though the charging time required for the batteries to get fully charged will be a bit extended.
Please can you recommend a good inverter battery. My ZEDIX battery barely lasted for a year.

I don't clearly have the list. Made payment last week and expecting it to arrive on Monday.

The people in charge gave me two options because I requested for the strongest battery - Monbat and Quanta. I picked Monbat which costs 145k each.

300 x 3 mono solar panel 42k each.
1 Diamond mppt solar charge controller @50k
Wire and workman @50k or thereabout.

Everything is not clear yet but they requested for 650k which according to them will take care of everything.

Expecting them on Monday.

1000w cigrearate inverter (economical)
30 amps solar charge controller.

100AH BATTERY @ 12V...YOU WOULD HAVE ABOUT 700WH OF USABLE ENERGY, WCH SHOULD LAST 6 TO 7 HRS on your present load. your panels i assume are 2 units of 150w hooked in parallel to a pwm charge controller. hope you get up to 600wh harvest daily from it, and upto 13amps/200watss maximum instantenous harvest?

yes lifepo4 is loosely called lithium battery as well.

is the famicare 1000w inverter transformer based/is it heavy to carry?....it may be part of your issue..as that model usually has high idle draw/consumption of about 20w, so for just being on the inverter consumes about 240wh out of your 700wh daily.
would advice you turn off the inverter, when its not in use.

however confirm the solar harvest data, i asked above...if you can.
based on the above scenario..your battery would be ccyling frequently...and being a substanrd model..may likely have about 300 cycles lifespan. a 200ah leadacid battery, or 150/100amps lifepo4 would serve you better...as lithium has higher cycle life count of above 3500
The inverter is light not heavy. I have 3 panels 100 Watts making 300 Watts. I don't know how to calculate the solar harvest data. Can you put me through.

The guy that installed it suggested that I should get a luminous 150ah tubular battery. He said he no longer recommends AGM battery and he said he has never used lipo4 when I mentioned it to him.

What do you think about the Luminous Tubular battery.

How to Wear a Cloth Face Covering

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html

Applying a face mask - step 1
Cloth face coverings should—

fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
be secured with ties or ear loops
include multiple layers of fabric
allow for breathing without restriction
be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape
CDC on Homemade Cloth Face Coverings
CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

CDC also advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure.

Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance.

Applying a face mask - step 2
Should cloth face coverings be washed or otherwise cleaned regularly? How regularly?
Yes. They should be routinely washed depending on the frequency of use.

How does one safely sterilize/clean a cloth face covering?
A washing machine should suffice in properly washing a face covering.

How does one safely remove a used cloth face covering?
Individuals should be careful not to touch their eyes, nose, and mouth when removing their face covering and wash hands immediately after removing.

Sew and No Sew Instructions
Sewn Cloth Face Covering
Sewing a facemask - materials needed
Materials
Two 10”x6” rectangles of cotton fabric
Two 6” pieces of elastic (or rubber bands, string, cloth strips, or hair ties)
Needle and thread (or bobby pin)
Scissors
Sewing machine
Tutorial
1. Cut out two 10-by-6-inch rectangles of cotton fabric. Use tightly woven cotton, such as quilting fabric or cotton sheets. T-shirt fabric will work in a pinch. Stack the two rectangles; you will sew the mask as if it was a single piece of fabric.

Sewing a facemask - step 1
2. Fold over the long sides ¼ inch and hem. Then fold the double layer of fabric over ½ inch along the short sides and stitch down.

Sewing a facemask - step 2
3. Run a 6-inch length of 1/8-inch wide elastic through the wider hem on each side of the mask. These will be the ear loops. Use a large needle or a bobby pin to thread it through. Tie the ends tight.
Don’t have elastic? Use hair ties or elastic head bands. If you only have string, you can make the ties longer and tie the mask behind your head.

Sewing a facemask - step 3
4. Gently pull on the elastic so that the knots are tucked inside the hem. Gather the sides of the mask on the elastic and adjust so the mask fits your face. Then securely stitch the elastic in place to keep it from slipping.
