Fiverr, Upwork, iWriter, Frelancer, withdrawal. Rate is $360 per dollar. Almost equal to today's exchange rate. I buy 360/dollar and sell $370. Let's withdraw your funds quick and honestly. Was this guy a scammer? Curious to see his account has been deactivated. I'm having issues with direct withdrawal via bank. My UBA doesn't seem to be supported after waiting 3 days seems I'm stuck with exchangers. |

Mrdigitech: lol... My brother man must survive ooh, albeit legally. Well, I want to migrate my account back home but Upwork needs special documentation to do that, especially if you have a U.S account. The only other option is closing the account. I can't afford to do that at this time of recession. My resolve is to milk and enjoy it while it lasts. Lol, I understand. All the best. |

Mrdigitech: Guys for those of us using foreign profiles on Upwork, it is not possible to withdraw to local Nigerian banks. There are only 3 options : ACH, Wire Transfer and PayPal. The things we see and read |

tolajay: Jeez!
Upwork sent my funds to my Payoneer account just before I could snap myself to change my payment method to the local transfer method.
Here's it; This is my first receipt of funds on my Payoneer account since I got it in 2015. How do I go about withdrawal here in Nigeria?
Also, what's the current Payoneer withdrawal rate? Would you advise that I change from Payoneer to Local Transfer due to the exchange rate? Seems you're stuck with exchangers who now offer between N320-N340 per $. Skrill commands a marginally better rate going for between N330 to N350 or in rare cases, N360 per $. All you need do is visit the exchange thread and hooj up with a trusted seller that'll exchange your $ for its Naira equivalent. On changing from Payoneer to Local Transfer, that's your decision, at least you know the various rates. |

tonyx4x44: Nigerians can not do this, you can not charge that amount as a nigerian, nigerians this, nigerians that... blaaa!
I not even making it well like the pros here but at least my own life na testimony. No special skills or training (well I'm a Google search expert,) no previous freelancing experience, started Upwork last September, working in the writing niche, working less that 30 hours a week, flying my nigerian flag with my real profile. Upwork is now my primary source of income.
Na small small, aiming for $30k/year (no call me big eye o) Lol #PepperDemGang |

kaycodes: Yes it's very interesting indeed. I made the withdrawal yesterday and as I type I was credited by GTB an hour ago. Apparently upwork does the conversion at a fair rate and do a direct deposit in Naira so no conversion fees or incoming fees by our greedy banks. I got exactly what I was expecting. Withdrew 256 USD got 94k in Naira to my savings account without the fear of scammers. You only pay 0.99USD withdrawal fees. With the current market trend this option is the safest and best for now until exchange rates sky rockets which really isn't good. With this trend Exchangers will have to up their prices or forget about upwork freelancers cash
However always check the current exchange rate as at the time of withdrawal. You can see this at the page just when you're trying to withdraw. Thank you so much for this info. This really does help. Cc callmelucy. |

Thank you Writeboy for your insightful and inspiring comment. I've come to realise there are two kinds of people / Nigerians / Freelancers in here; the serious/honest/resourceful ones and the unserious/dubious/fast guys. We are witnesses to the fruits of each class of freelancers. |

kaycodes: Congratulations!!
What method did you use to do your withdrawal? I have tried all methods except the wire transfer method. The thought of losing 30 USD plus a potential 20 USD incoming fees at my bank is not funny.
With the crash in dollar payoneer seems a very bad option right now as these ecurrency exchangers will give you a crazy price.
Well I decided to try using the withdraw to local bank as it looks like the best option on paper at 369NGN/$ with less than $1 withdrawal fees. I'll update when the payment hits my account so you can compare and contrast.
However higher dollar rate looks good but the multiplier effect isn't funny as well. For the sake of our families and friends, the dollar should stabilize. This should be very interesting. Sold @ ₦350 yesterday but the prospects aren't looking so good. If direct withdrawal would end up giving me even marginally less than exchangers, I'd rather embrace it considering it's inherent security. |

pcguru1: I got a job recently apparently I wasn't getting any because my account was on private once I changed it to public I got an offer to bid for a job but didn't as luckily I got my first job and did it within days now it seems am o retainer because I keep getting request for more work from the same guy and asking for my budget my problem is pricing as I took up up work to keep myself busy and try out new projects or if possible get full-time if they find my skills and work so good. Check your profile setting if it's public or private also another thing I do is when I apply for proposal I give reason and how to go about the task in case am not picked. Search for those offering same service as you do, go through their profiles and see how much they charge their clients. That way, you'll know what's appropriate and what's not. If I were you, I won't feel too bad about being perhaps underpaid at this stage, it's just a way to get your foot in the door. Just be patient and bide your time. |

pcguru1: Interesting, I now understand what you mean, I didn't even think of that i have had this account since odesk, I thought it was everyone being verified maybe it's mostly Suspicious accounts i guess. it's even know i realize you must not mention PayPal on the message platform or give out your email The bolded isn't exactly true. While it is a violation of Upwork policy to include contact details in your PROFILE, exchanging emails and contact information isn't a violation of that policy as long as it's not done suspiciously. I've exchanged my email, phone number, Skype as well as whatsapp details with numerous clients without any hassles. Sometimes, it's absolutely necessary. Thing is, just don't shoot yourself on the foot. Be smart about how you go about it. |

tonyx4x44: Some peeps are being taken advantage of due to panic. This panic is not in line with the real situation as it is being fueled by opportunist buyers that are using the situation to shortchange you and line their pocket in the process.
Here's a word of advice to dollar earners; stand your ground, keep a level head, and ascertain the fair price before dealing.
BTC suffered a massive drop to 440-460
Skrill still sells at 410-430
Payoneer still goes for 410-440
Wait for Naira to complete its rise before selling at low dirt prices.
Note: this is just kind advice o... I don't have any problem selling my wares, and I don't have a problem with the Naira. As it drops, I'll adjust accordingly. When Tabbaz / Ernest and the cabalists catch you...
