Let see if this your impact you mentioned will do Nigerians good after 4 or 8 year tenure. But come to think of it self , ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PDP & APC.

The panic will subside then the true situation will unfold. Right now the system has been disturbed but smart business men will not sell their dollars. They will just hold on.Dollars is rising elsewhere ,why will Nigeria be different that is an importation based economy with low level of productionhuh
Don't be naive, the real value of the naira (something called the Real Exchange Rate) is between 300-350 ₦ per $ and that's exactly why the CBN is holding out at that rate. The present rate is only down to the insidious activities of speculators and once the CBN demonstrates an ability to meet $ demand for a few weeks (which they now can as they've miraculously built up the reserves to about $29b), speculators will pack their bags and leave the Naira alone, then, we'll see the naira settle at its true rate.
Everything now depends on how patient currency hoarders are and how long the CBN can nourish the market, the first to blink losses. If speculators blink first, then the Naira will appreciate further as hoarders offload their stock leading to an oversupply but if the CBN blinks first, something that's sure to happen if the reserves begin to plunge below $25-20billion, then expect the naira to depreciate to at least ₦600 as speculators become enboldened seeing nothing but a hapless Central Bank.
The funniest part of all these is seeing Nigerians curse and cry because the Naira is making gains and they're about to suffer marginal losses! Which way my people? Some are already praying the intervention fails and have already resorted to hoarding, anticipating the CBN's failure. I ask again, which way my people? I thought a stronger Naira is desirable? Have you guys thought of the knock-on effects of a sudden fall in the exchange rate to the wider economy? It might take some time but trust me, a healthier overall economy is way more beneficial than the extra ₦50 you'll make per $.

We have both models but 5103 is now out of stock. 5102 left now. Some are windows10 and some are windows7, you get any one of your choice. No touchscreen. Battery is very very good - You are likely to get more than 5hours.
Thanks for your response. I'll be in touch.

A few questions if you don't mind. Would pick one up but just require a few clarifications. Firstly, what model do you have in stock? You listed the 5102 and 5103 which are not the same. Are the ones you have touchscreen enabled? Secondly, can I get one with Windows 10 already pre installed? Battery life is VERY IMPORTANT to me, are you absolutely certain of a 5-hour battery life? Thanks.

Hello NL biz section. I lost my phone and have not been reachable and when i came online i saw a lot of bashing and scam mentions. This has really weakened me. My account was used to perpetrate fraud. I just saw that my contact number had been changed. I truly apologize to those that lost their funds. After addressing those concerned, i am closing this account and openjng another one because i dont know how they had access to my nairaland account. I am so sorry to those affected.

I am trying to edit profile to remove the number but can't.

My picture is on my profile and i just saw it on his thread. My heart is heavy.
OK, so they stole your phone and stole your common ssense too? For someone whose phone was supposedly stolen in the middle of a transaction right after you received money, why didn't you log in to Nairaland to alert the guy you were trading with? So have you now found the phone since you're now posting or your common sense has been returned to you by your fellow thief? You no even sabi lie. Dumb crook. Someone please drag this thing outta my sight.

Go back to the basics:
1. Save critical info and wipe your phone clean by resetting to factory default. If Android, ensure to disable admin rights.
2. On the clean phone or PC, get back your email by resetting your password. If you added your phone number or security questions, that should be easy. Also change passwords for other critical accounts.
3. Get yourself a phone with proprietary software e.g. Blackberry or iPhone. Safer to keep your financial transactions on a secure platform. And be sure to use a Fort Knox password on that transaction phone.
4. If you use a laptop, be sure to use legit OS (Win 10 ISO is free to download from Microsoft) and always have two accounts: a limited and admin. Use the limited account for day to day things and only use the admin account when you need to install apps. Leaving your account as admin makes your PC more vulnerable to hacks and malicious software install. Make sure to also password those PC accounts to limit access.
5. Make sure your antivirus, firewall and defense softwares are up to date.
6. Be careful what you install on phone or PC. Not all apps are innocent.

Good luck!
I always laugh when I hear people make comparisons between an Android and an iOS device. If you're all about downloading movies and songs and doing xender/flashare I can understand, but if you take your security serious, you should take your phone serious.

This is scary! It reminds me of my own experience some years ago. Back in the days of cyber cafes, I'd done some work in a nearby cafe and when I tried to log back in some other time, I discovered I couldn't. After trying all possible combinations, I resorted to making long distance calls to yahoo helplines to help retrieve my email. The scale of the mess I was in only became clear when they asked me to answer my simple security question, "what's your favourite sports team"? I promptly replied, "Arsenal" and they said I was wrong! I racked my brain and called back, this time convinced I probably used "Super Eagles", na so I call back and the response was the same. Hian!!! I must have called back a dozen times pleading and guessing until I chose then African champions, Enyimba all to no avail. My email with all my online history, job applications and business contacts was gone for good!
The best advice I got when I opened a thread on my predicament in the webmasters section here in Nairaland was that I should patronise this ruthless Russian hackers to get back my mail. I think it's an option you should consider but be smart about it. If you finally pick a good hacker, Send a mail to the hijacked email and ask the hacker to tell you the content before making any payment.
Despite our best efforts, we are largely at the mercy of these hackers but it's only wise that we do our own little bit. As per my own security, I've learnt to separate my primary email from that which I use for sundry activities and yes, 2-step verification is now a must for my primary email - I received a mail about two months ago that someone that definitely wasn't me tried to login to my account from an obscure location which prompted my account to be temporarily locked until I changed my password. Connecting your primary email with another recovery email also presents another layer of defence. I've now also learnt to use multiple passwords for multiple emails and sites. Good luck with your recovery efforts.

I honestly don't see why you're raising a red flag just yet. You've not confirmed "he's" not callmelucy, and from your chat, he didn't ask you to send first neither did he underprice or overprice your Payoneer. If you've contacted callmelucy and he /she said he/she wasn't the one that chatted with you, tthen one can understand. This your "beware" at this point is premature.

You are all welcome

The guy in question contacted 1st last year with a different number claiming to have been scammed bla bla bla and some days later, chatted with me a diff 1 (d 1 flagged here ) .. I didn't care to check cos his idea was to gain my trust 1st with his other number then strike .

So many times he claims he sent cash and pressures me to send btc

He is always in a rush

I never fell

We all need to be WISE HERE

I was upset when i saw my number as an accomplice

It was after the drama I went back to check his current whatsapp number

How was I supposed to know he was a scammer with a different number ? undecided huh

Always do your findings well before conclusion (accomplice )
That's all i was saying

I was supposed to be a victim

I'm sure he is still cooking plan but it 'll never work

ALWAYS SHINE YOUR EYE
I HAVE NEVER USED ESCROW HERE (service too difficult to come by)

I am not in a hurry to sell so I do not send 1st

I was only concerned about not been scammed

Never knew I had a task of catching scammers embarassed
Next time, before you go shooting your mouth off like a broken faucet, ensure you know what you're talking about lest you end up looking really daft. No one called you an "accomplice". I clearly stated that the numbers were probably those of "acquaintances". It was only expedient to post the account numbers to make it more difficult for him to use same accounts for his scams, warn potential victims and perhaps alert those whose accounts were being used for his activities. Cjsmack only said you were "acting" like an accomplice, which was a rational deduction considering you were calling a known scammer your business partner.
I now feel somewhat sorry for you considering you're just a victim of very poor education and I've modified the post (you can ask those that quoted me to do same). Now run along like a good girl and in future, before you pick a fight, ensure your brain cells are engaged.

Lol, I've been doing NL fights since you were in nappies and grew out of it a long time ago so by all means, indulge yourself. Ladies on this forum have always had the reputation for being vile and uncouth - something about abused females finding an avenue to vent their deep early frustrations I heard. But that's just by the way.
The number that contacted me with the name Yahweh, and was willing to send $700 to a non - existent bank was ‪+234 908 508 0282. A number that has been flagged numerously on this thread for scams. How he came to be your trusted business partner is not my place to explain but what's obvious is that of I'd paid my ₦300,000 into your account, it would've been gone for good and you won't be here telling tales about your very romantic business relationship with a known scammer. By the way, if you want the full details of our chat on WhatsApp, I'll be glad to send them over to you.
As per modifying my post, nice try but I'd rather you continue with the abuse. So if you don't mind, you can please shove your apology down where the sun don't shine.

Well, those were the account numbers he supplied me and he probably was trying to do a MITM one or more of them. But since you're so dumb you don't know how to communicate like a sensible adult, I won't modify the post after all, it was supplied by a scammer seeking to scam me.

So I've been chatting with the scammer otherwise known as warriblood etc who contacted me posing as a US resident willing to transfer some funds to a US account. I just played along and all through the chat, I just kept wondering how anyone can fall for such cheap scam. The half-wit couldn't even tell I'd given him the name of a nonexistent bank!
Anyway, I was able to extract 4 bank account name's and numbers from him as well as an ID neither of which I think actually belongs to him, probably some of his acquaintances.

You can flog me all you like but that will not make my investigation any faster. You guys in naija just don't get it. One of the guys Ayo sanky346 asked to call me got off the phone with me moments ago and after explaining to him the same thing I have said here over and over he said:

"Someone has tried the same thing with me and he kept sending me money gram even after I told him to stop. Stand your ground and teach him a lesson and hold the money. Seven months may be too harsh but do like two or three months and he will never deposit in your account again."

FYI: I do not know this guy from Adam. Ayo gave him my number to call me and "beg". People in the US get it. Even the person that deposited the money in my account gets it.
Then just come out and say you're witholding the funds as punishment for his persistent payments into your account and we'll all know what to say about that. The whole talk about a 6-month investigation to justify witholding someone's money is just lame and scammish.

My issue with u tabbaz is because u are one sided,
How can u ask me to pay for what I never agreed upon b4 he sent to me, u read up there that he sent in the first one to complete the 9000 that he claimed I asked for, did he say I requested for another $5,400? And at 445? So why would u say I should pay @445 when I already told him I scare pple away with my offer of 400/$ and he still choose to deposit money in my account thereafter, meaning he agreed my 400 offer, otherwise he would have come up with negotiations with me for new orders,.
Abi dollar has a static price in ur own village?
Just to be clear, Tooltip said he didn't send the second payment to you on purpose. His partners made the deposit before he could stop them because they usually pay to you in tranches. He also said you once paid some millions into his account by mistake and he refunded you without charging VAT.
I honestly thought you guys have passed this back and forth stage.

The list which u are criticizing now isn't an official nairaland list of scammers,it is the brainwork and idea of one person, someone just like you and I, If he isn't doing it right ,then why don't u do it the better way?this is a free forum and one cant force his or her own opinion on others. If you create your own thread and list , nairalanders will look at it and decide if it is credible and worth following. This is the best solution. Try and make ur own list to help ppl identify scammers here
You still don't get it do you? What you're calling for is chaos that'll ultimately consume this thread. Tabazz is already doing a marvelous but not perfect job. He would only do it better with thread members acting as his watchdog by calling him out when he's perceived to have erred - that's where we currently are. Your attitude here seems to be that kind of "if you no like am, go do your own " kinda stuff which is petty and insidious.

this is the kind of spirit needed by everyone here in order to curb scams and i think you have a point and i must really commend your dedication to cause of reducing scamming here. But I think the best way to go about it is to act on what u believe in. Why don't you create your own scammers list and make it very comprehensive so that ppl will be able to look at it and be well informed. There is nothing wrong in having two good up to date list of fraudsters .i believe this will go a long way In helping the situation rather than you waiting for someone to update his, yours may even be better than the one presently been used. The more the merrier. Or what do you think?
What I keep thinking is why some people (e.g you) are always bent on deflecting the real issues every time this subject is broached. What purpose would another list serve if thread members can't agree on one? What happens when scammers come up with their own list with names like Tabbaz and Singapore1? Would the more still be merrier? Oga, I hope you don't settle family problems?

I know u may have ur reasons for your actions but the fact is elot delivers and he is trusted. Let sleeping dogs lie. This matter has been laid to rest. Pls biko sheath your sword.
The below attachment was tooltip's reaction and last comment on the "fraud case" with elot and oxsam. If anything has changed, he's yet to let those in this thread know that.
So Oga, please allow the person that lost money speak for himself. Afterall, if anyone transacts with the characters and get their fingers burnt, shishi won't drop from your pocket. Your referring to tooltip as "the other guy" is also curious, like you're deliberately trying to keep him off your mention.
Most people following this thread have paid particular attention to this case because the characters are supposedly "vverified exchangers" and as long as it lingers, it puts a huge question mark on everybody in that trusted list. So you guys better go back to that your WhatsApp group, resolve it properly with tooltip and have him come here to inform us himself.
