There's really no need for this back and forth. I'm going to paste Samtobi's comment again and urge you to pay attention to the tenses. He was clearly talking about some new policy supposed to come into effect soon. Your pride in maintaining your line of argument instead of owning up to misinterpreting both his comment and my response is totally needless.

I REPEAT, THEY ARE CLOSING ACCOUNTS... First is to put them account on hold, then if your appeal falls through, there's a permanent ban on it because you are inactive or not getting jobs. I'm not saying they will within a month, but they can. They do as they please.

You're actually not saying anything new. Everyone knows Upwork can shut accounts - they've being doing that for quite some time. I only made a post because someone said there was a supposedly new mandate to shut accounts for being inactive after 30 days. I thought that was an erroneous interpretation and attached a mail to prove it. If you want to say someone's "wrong" and continue saying so, perhaps you should have a reason for doing so.

Actually, you are wrong. And emmaversity, don't take that information... Like samtobi said, they have, and I have people who have been affected by this. That it hasn't reached your side does not mean it's not happening. @Abiodun4038, they will eventually close your account because most appeal falls through.... Find another freelancing website or online business.

I don't know what you're on about but like I said, Upwork aren't shutting down accounts for being inactive in the span of a month. Believe what you like.

Snails - in the days of warfare, a special charm was made that forbade all men to eat snails. The women also chose to abstain in solidarity with their men hence snails became totally forbidden.
Cocoyam - Not sure about the history behind it being forbidden but it made sense considering how miserable the crop always looked. Why not use the land and effort to cultivate something more productive? Yams anybody?
Iguana/Monitor Lizards - This one I wish "they" ate just to spare me the constant fright this ubiquitous reptiles give me every time I travel home. One has made our car park its permanent home and we've had to abandon the car shed. The reptile is forbidden from being killed or eaten in solidarity with our brothers across the River Niger who regard the reptiles as incarnates of their ancestors. Hardly a home in my town without a link with our neighbors so it made sense to protect their sensibilities. Heard our neighbors have since abandoned the culture though but no one has acquired the taste for the annoying slithering reptiles.
The Manatee - This used to be very common along the banks of the Niger but apparently, our not so caring neighbors have eaten them to extinction- I've never seen one. Back in the days while our ancestors we're migrating from the ancient obodo Idu, the slippery sea dwellers formed a bridge atop the Ase creek over which our non-swimming forebears stepped over to reach the promised land where they vanquished the original dwellers. The prohibition was in honour of the animals.

I urge all writers, especially inspiring ones to follow Bamidele, the owner of writers in Charge dot com. The young man has a lot of tips on how you can get good clients off Upwork or other freelancing sites.

As a writer, I also urge you to embrace the kdp platform. You can write books on that platform and make good money. I know of a web designer who left his freelancing work and started writing and selling his book on Kdp, and he is a millionaire now. Yes, you read that right. He has made up to a million from that platform.

So, if a web designer can excel on Kdp, then a writer has no limit on how much she can earn.

Notwithstanding, you also have to do your research.

Apart from freelancing, there is a bunch of opportunities opened for writers. So, don't depend on one source of income alone. Spread your wings and look for greener pastures elsewhere.

This isn't true. Upwork aren't deactivating dormant accounts rather they're making them less visible. What that means is that when clients search for freelancers, those that've been inactive in the span of a month do not appear in the client's search. Even then, you can write to CC to have your account re-allowed in searches. Deactivating accounts for being inactive in just a month would be very stupid.

Between June 22 and today, I have made some little money writing articles but I have a question. How long does it take for Upwork to process payment to my Local Bank Account after I have made the request. Average and maximum time, pls.

I think delays come from banks otherwise, the payment is generally concluded under 30 minutes.

Do you accept dollar payments via Payoneer / Skrill or PayPal? I mean instead of me paying in Naira.

Hello guys... please I need help.

My client's project has finished, it ran for 15 months and I was the project manager. I got the job on Upwork but we did not deal on Upwork... we took the dealings offsite. He paid me straight to my bank account every month.

I did very good work for him but because it was off-site, I can't receive any feedback or ratings from the job. Also two months ago, I took a job from a Nigerian client that turned out to be a horror job. After thirty days, I called it quits and told her not to even bother paying me, instead, not to mark me down, but she went ahead and marked me down. This caused my Upwork job completion rate to drop from 100% to 88%.

I have been prospecting for jobs for the last two months without luck and I think my job completion rate being less than 90% has something to do with clients not hiring me.

Here's where I need help:

Please can anyone give me a small project on Upwork? I can also arrange with and pay you some money to award a project to me. Something small -- under $20. After the project is completed, you would then give me good ratings and a good comment as well to help drive up my job success rate.

Your low JSS score has got very little to do with you not getting hired. I faced something similar a few weeks ago, lost my Top Rated status as well as my 100% JSS score in less than a week and I thought it was fimito! (I'll write on my experience with some "clients from hell" and how I mitigated their effects some other time). Thing is, despite crashing from 100% to 79% within two update cycles, I've gone on to land my two biggest jobs in the platform. My JSS apparently, was a non issue. Perhaps it was favour at work, but that was my experience.

Doesn't look like the Dollar is falling where you guys are is it? These laptops were going for about 30-35k when the dollar was trading around ₦450 and that was understandable. Now Dollar has crashed to ₦350-370 and the systems have gone up to ₦40,000, Which way?

Go ahead with the UBA, the bank works great with Upwork withdrawals. Transfers from Upwork to my UBA are concluded within 30 minutes - wise choice I'd say!

As you continue this journey, if you want to earn the TRS status, please don't allow greed to cause you to accept outside payments so you don't lose everything you have worked for, TRS is not automatic but handpicked, so the highest standards of ethics and behavior should put you in good stead.

True some people can make level 2 in 10 days, but what matters is that you got there in the end and with straight 5.0 ratings.

Unlike you, I have still not gotten a single offer closed from buyer's request although I am almost half way through to Level 2.

Which brings me to the question, what niche are you part of?

Congratulations on making customers come back again and again, it is easier to get a customer come back than to get new ones.

The guy who mentioned working smarter not harder has a point, you may wish to look into it because it seems that your average order price is less than $20, unless of course, you don't spend more than 10 to 15 minutes or 20 minutes per job.

He expected he would be the one to handpick for Jonathan after occupying the position himself for 8 years while also the president. In terms of academic qualifications, exposure to the oil and gas industry who amongst the past and even the current man occupying the position is better qualified than Deziani.

Obasanjo is not bold enough to tell Nigerians that he did not support Jonathan go for a second term simply because of the state burial he gave to Ojukwu whom he always saw as his arch enemy and undeserving of such honour and also, not allowing Obasanjo to use him to fight his personal battles and make unneccessary enemies. Very petty old man.

Bad news am chatting with upwork and it seems GTbank is no longer supported under Direct to Local Deposit so am left with Wiring Dollars or Payooneer and my Payoneer account has been blocked.

The Direct transfer rate has been very low at about N330 to $1 whilst you can exchange upwards N350 to $. Concerning your PAyoneer getting blocked I'm curious as to why it goty blocked, where you doing aome other business with it? I checked earlier today and Skrill was still available, you could consider using it.
