but above all , don’ t forget there is 13 per cent derivation, there is Niger Delta Development Commission, there is Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, they have gotten enough , they should hold their people responsible for their inability to look after them





I wish the south east governors would prepare to make this statement a reality.But i doubt, why stress yourself when that security vote is coming

I think when this is done , then , to hell with oil . It is when this is done and salary is not being paid that I will have questions to ask because as soon as the government takes up this agricultural and natural endowment , people will go to farm ..

When making news about areas you have no competence, at least get input from the professionals.

Nigeria to leave Niger delta oil and start drilling oil in the NE? You don't drill oil, you drill oil wells and produce oil.

You should first of all wait for an announcement of a find. An estimated reserve before speculations. Oil is an asset, and countries try to add more reserves, not abandon one for another. Being a new find (If commercial), a 100,000 barrels of oil/day will be a good output from the field for a start.

The Niger delta gives above 1,500,000 million barrels of oil a day.

I am aware Kachikwu made an announcement for us to expect something, When exploration is completed, there should be a breakdown of the estimated find, to know the commercial viability. That is only when we can start making speculations.

I end to say that if Niger deltan oil is left, the assets is still in the ground. The oil is still there to be tapped when we can better manage the resources. This news is an attempt by a novice to whip up sentiments.

What the governor has done is commendable. The governor is the chief security officer of his state for your information. Furthermore, no amount can be too much to spend on security. The money he used came from his security vote. Let's assume a cow goes for 150k in Anambra State, 70 cows come to 10.5M. This is not too much to spend on security.

I think this governor should be commended rather than insulting him the way you did.

I guess it all depends on the class of the HND (degree). If the HND is a distinction, then I will agree it is far better and more considerable/commendable than a BSc in the 3rd class category. But if it is lower credit HND (or even an upper credit at times) then I'll completely tell you the BSc 3rd class is more considerable/preferable to the HND.

Of course a distinction in HND is [supposed to be] better than a 3rd class BSc degree, but in any case, the average Nigerian person might not see it in that light.

My humble opinion, though.

PS there's a huge difference between 'being' and 'been' sir. The write up is very nice I must confess, but you used 'being' where you were supposed to use 'been.' I'm sorry I couldn't overlook it, because it always troubles me to see such mistakes.

From the common sense point of view, the above statement does not provide the basis for a tangible argument..Yes he can pay his tax and choose to go for the receipts at anytime he deems fit,if he collected these receipts for those stipulated years in a day then the serial number will not be taken as a prima facie for a case.. Well, when we voted them in, we thought it couldn't get worse, that things will only get better, how wrong we were. Unlike others I don't blame people for my shortcomings. I agree I made a mistake voting him in(although there really is no assurance that things would have been better under Mr Clueless), I will gladly take the blame. Being a houseboy(a doctor undergoing his housemanship o,not servant) almost zero percent of my salary goes into saving or even luxury activities, I walk down the street and I see beggars who probably did not vote for Buhari but are also suffering because of the fact that I voted for him and I can't stop myself from giving them all I have. I don't know why some Nigerians are these confused or
should i say mischievous they tend to know the right thing

In this Abia state saga am very much astonished that some
senior lawyers could stoop so low to say what they are
saying when the law which they claim to abide is very clear
and unambiguous but need not to apply nothing but a literal
rule interpretation meaning.
Now Section 143 sub 1 of the electoral Act which guilds the
conduct of elections clearly provides
"If the Election Tribunal or the COURT as the case may be
determines that a Candidate returned as elected was not
validly elected, then if notice of Appeal against that decision
is given within 21 days from the date of the decision the
candidate returned as elected shall, not withstanding the
contrary decision of the election tribunal or the COURT,
remain in office pending the determination of the Appeal".
The Law is very Clear irrespective of pre or post election
matter, the checking of document for election is an
electioneering process and primary election is an election
process also monitored by Inec.
Now my question is why was Inec so fast in issuing
Certificate of return to Dr Uche ogar because this is not the
first time a sitting governor is sacked by the court and they
Appeal while on sit, does it mean that if the court declares,
later this week the third contender Barr Friday Nwosu who
first approach the court before Uche Ogar contending that
he should be declared governor that Gov. Ikpeazu was not
qualify to contest the election and Uche ogar rejected the
primary election result and did not accept or sign the result
thus should not benefit from what he has rejected, will Inec
also issue him certificate of return and if Gov. Ikpeazu wins
in Appeal court will Inec also issue him another certificate of
return take it or leave it Inec has put confusion in Abia.
Let us move away from election does it mean that when
ever a trial court sentences one to death for criminal act or
murder the person should be executed immediately when
his stipulated time for Appeal has not elapsed.
Am not siding any party am only voicing out as a concerned
Abian because right here in Abia there is tension and
clashes.
Abians, Nigerians, and the world should hold Inec
responsible if, and for anything that happens in Abia.

I am not a lawyer though but it baffles me that with your assumed knowledge of the constitution you still can't decipher the fact that the case in question is not about Ikpeazu being Validly elected(which Alex otti has contended and the supreme court given its stand) but him not being qualified to contest that election and which your Section 143 does not cover..as the case may be outright disqualification is his case and no appeal was stipulated in that case..
