Umana is just wasting his useless time. He can only become the governor of Akwa Ibom in his fake & unrealize dreams. For destabilizing the state & Udom from chieving his goals, I'll never forgive this greedy & self centred man. The God we serve will never let him disgrace Udom & our dear state.

Dear nairaland moderators, with due respect to all involved, I wish to express a deep dissatisfaction over some things I'd observed, since I joined this forum. Most people will accept the fact that we often disagree to agree. A great forum like this, with millions of people from diff parts of the world are filled with diff calibers of ppl. Some criticise you for doing the right thing, while others constructively criticise when you go wrong. However, I expect the moderators to admit the fact that without criticism, you can never bring out the best in you. What makes us mature is our ability to handle matters when arises. Please, it's not fair to hide people posts cos they criticise you. If need be, ban for a short period of time rather than hidding their post. Lastly, on behalf of all nairalanders, I wish to tender a sincere apology for every insults received in discharge of ur duties due to misunderstanding of any sort. Please by virtue of this season, temper justice with mercy(forgive all). *We luv you all!*

Business / The NCC Fine On MTN: Right Or Wrong? by KelvinKelt(m): 9:13am On Dec 09, 2015
I read here on Nairaland last nite that NCC has reduce the fine of N1.04 trillion on MTN by 25%. The new amount now stands at N780 billion, to be paid on or before December 31st, 2015. As I went thro the comments of some people, I couldn't help but made way for tears as it rolled down my cheeks. I was so astonish to see the same people solicitating for change in support of such obnoxious fine. Where did MTN went wrong? Was their failure to comply fully with NCC directives, enough justification to descend on them without mercy? How could some Nigerians & NCC be so heartless! Whoever bites the hands that feeds him & succeed in life? I must say this to my fellow youths: always think twice before you jump in support of anything. Should MTN quit Nigeria, who do u think will lose? Is it the tax they pay to Nigerian govt or thousands of youths they employed, that they'll lose? If for years now Nigerian govt cannot provide jobs for half of her population, is it the displaced workers from MTN they rescue? MTN can migrate to any other country & succeed, but thousands of displaced workers will remain redundant for years. Be it govt, group of people, individual should always think twice before they act. Think of the adverse effect this may have on the employed youths, the economy, etc. If MTN had decided to block all unregistered sims as directed by NCC, most of the people here would have talk from the other side of their mouth. They would have crucify the company beyond the confines of words, for frustrating their biz, plans, etc. I'm not advocating rebellion, but whatever offence they might had committed is not enough to attract such a fine. Whatsoever amount they desired, should have stop at mill, not to the tune of billions. I REALLY FEEL FOR MTN, IT'S AS IF THE BURDEN IS ON ME!
Nairaland / General / The Rise & Fall Of Babylon De Great by KelvinKelt(m): 8:12am On Dec 09, 2015
I choose to call Nigeria that name: "BABYLON DE GREAT'' cos the fallen country was as great as that name. Unfortunately, like Babylon de great, Nigeria's prestige, dignity, pride, could not stand the test of time. "Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold" violence takes the centre stage. Bribery & corruption becomes the order of the day, as the desire to become rich overnight continues in ernest. Kings were known for truth but these days, its far from their lips. Rush hour seems to be the prevailing trend. *DID ANYONE LAID A CURSE ON NIGERIA? *WHATEVER HAPPENED TO HER DAYS OF GREATNESS, WHEN SUPER EAGLES WAS 2ND TO NONE IN THE GAME OF SOCCER, IN AFRICA? *WHATEVER HAPPENED TO HER CURRENCY THAT WAS GREATER THAN DOLLAR; WHY IS NAIRA DECLINING EVERYDAY? *WHERE IS THE PRIDE SHE UPHELD BEFORE NATIONS OF THE EARTH? *CAN NIGERIA BE GREAT AGAIN? *IF U're elected the president of Nigeria even for a year, what would be your top priorities; to effect a change, restore the prestige, dignity & pride of your dear country?

Nairaland / General / "Things Fall Apart, The Centre Cannot Hold"; Can Nigeria Be Ever Great Again? by KelvinKelt(m): 4:36am On Dec 09, 2015
"NIGERIA, WE HAIL THEE, OUR DEAR NATIVE LAND THOUGH TRIBE & TONGUE MAY DIFFER, IN ONE BROTHERHOOD WE STAND"(Nigeria's 1st national anthem, composed by a foreigner). When I was young, my mum & dad always told me that if they have their way, they would luv to bring back the former national anthem. Why was it changed? It was changed with the sole reason that it was compose by a foreigner & other minor reasons. My parents told me how the former anthem was love, dignity, self value & respect we earned by virtue of the anthem. This was when Nigeria was the giant of Africa, not anymore. I personally like the former anthem more than the present one, but there's nothing I can do about it. Now my questions are: *IF YOU HAVE ALL THE POWERS IN THE WORLD BESTOWED ON YOU, TO MAKE LAWS, TO EFFECT CHANGE, WOULD YOU LIKE TO REINSTATE THE FORMER NATIONAL ANTHEM? *DO U THINK THE FORMER NATIONAL ANTHEM COMMANDED RESPECT MORE THAN THE PRESENT ONE? *DO YOU THINK THE YARDSTICKS THEY CONSIDERED FOR THE CHANGE HAS ENOUGH JUSTIFICATION IN TODAYS WORLD? *WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE TWO ANTHEMS? I'll really love to see the old good days restored. Let Nigeria become the giant of Africa again in real sense, not in abstract.

No matter de level of offence MTN might had committed, such amount is too much for a fine. I wonder why NCC should be so heartless, I really feel for MTN.

Culture / My Lessons From Major Tribes In Nigeria. Dedicated To The Yorubas by KelvinKelt(m): 6:47pm On Dec 07, 2015
Its just amazing what one can learn from different tribes in Nigeria. Nigeria seems to be one country with unending, fascinating customs & traditions(culture). My trip to different parts of the country is what inspired this thread. I want to open the floor with the *YORUBAS*: Accept it or not, the Yorubas seems to be the most blessed tribe in Nigeria. Reasons? "He that humble himself shall be exalted; he that exalted himself shall be humbled" states the scripture. This is the much reason behind their huge success. The Yorubas are the most humble tribe in Nigeria. No wonder they parades the most influential pastors in the world. This tribe is blessed with cheerful givers, one can furnish his little apartment with souvenir from all round functions. They love entertainment & luxury. I'll never forget my days in IBADAN, a lovely city indeed! Credits to the Yorubas! >The HAUSAS: Not much can be said about the Hausas other than honesty & sincerity. A typical hausa man is known to call a spade, a spade. Nevertheless, I've come across few corrupt ones. >Here comes the Almighty IGBOS: I'll like to start with the full definition of *Igbo*: (i go before others). I give credits to the Igbos for making Nigeria the pride of Africa. An Igbo man doesn't need to be a govt worker or a politician to be successful. They dominate biz & entertainment industries. Igbos are known to be the most industrious tribe in Nigeria, with high biz intellects & creative minds. >The IBIBIOS/EFIK: Once a disadvantage tribes, but a cynosure of all eyes today. The two sisters are known for hospitality & cleanliness. Apart from FCT, Calabar & Uyo are the most clean states in Nigeria. This tribe is also known for rich culture & tasty meals, they have no match in this regard. If you want a wife material, this two tribe is the answer to your call. MODERATORS!
