You will see a goat moving towards a bowl of cassava even though the owner is sitting close by with a big stick.

The goat wouldn’t mind.
Guess what’s on the mind of the goat.

“ I know I might get hit by this stick but at least, I would have picked up some sticks of cassava, I will shake the pain after.

*Lesson 2: A goat's diet is balanced.*

Have you ever seen a sick goat?

No?

Have you noticed at times, the goat eating some leaves at times?

Why?

I don’t know

But I believe the goat's diet strongly contribute to it’s strength, vigour and even it’s courage.

*Just like the goat, you must know the tools/materials/stuffs/trainings you need for you to be in that career/business.*

After discovering it, then go for it.

Don’t shy away

Don’t give excuse.

*Lesson 3: A goat is persistent, it never gives up.*

No matter how many times you drive the goat away from that bowl of cassava, it will keep coming back.

Even if you carry the cassava away from it’s sight eventually, it will still hang around, hoping..

For you to succeed in business/career, you must be persistent.

Stay there until it works
Only be sure it is the right thing you are doing.

Well, am not here to talk about the umeployment 'palava' in our nation.

But rather I want to quickly talk about some clean jobs you can without requiring a degree or any serious qualification.

These jobs won't make you develop wrinkles or grey hair at 30.

All you need is a willingness of heart to learn and believing that you can achieve.

#1. Graphic Design: All you need is a laptop or even smartphone to get on with this skill.

Then go ahead and get some training, maximum of 6months is enough to master the skill.

And thereafter you need to start practising and sourcing for jobs.

You can get graphics design job both offline and on-line.

Infact the beautiful thing about being a graphic designer is that you can work remotely. All you need is your device and you are good to go.

7 PEOPLE YOU WOULD SEE AT A NAIJA WEDDING

Having attended Nigerian wedding ceremony several times, (I have lost count gan sef)

I have this to say:

There are 7 types of guest in a Nigerian wedding.

1) The FLASHY ONES: these are people that like to be noticed anywhere they are.

They choose clothes type with colors that will quickly draw attention to them. They are the NOTICE ME kind of people.

2) The CONSERVATIVES: these are the kind of people that would wear Jeans and T-shirt, simple gown to a wedding.

They are very reserved. l call them the RESERVATIVES. They don’t want anyone to notice them or should I say, they are just trying to be different?

3) The EXPENSIVE: these ones dress so well that you will almost think they are the parents or siblings of the couple.

But a number of times, they are far from it. These are the people that maybe just bought a new dress or shoe and just needs an occasion to wear it to to show off. I call them the SHOW-OFFS.

4) The AVERAGE: these ones dress modestly and decently. They have the mindset of : “I must not appear better than the celebrants o”.

I call them the SE BI O TI MO (Be Moderate).

5) The SEDUCERS: these ones just dress to seduce by showing off body parts that should be concealed with clothes(e.g cleavage, thighs).

These set of people are the ones that will keep going to the toilet regularly. They would not sit in one place.

They just keep walking up and down so that someone can notice them. And yours truly, in a short time, a crazy guy like them or an uncontented married man is already collecting their phone number.

They arrived the wedding single but wants to go home double. I call them the DESPERADOES.

6) The BEGGARLY: these ones are actually gate-crashers. They were not invited, but they just need a place to take decent lunch free of charge.

You will see it in their dressing, a faded Ankara on a rubber slippers. I call them the MOGBO, MOYA( I heard about it and I branched).

7) The HIGH-TEMPERED: this ones are easily offended. Such people easily raise their voice when angered drawing people's attention.

They are the kind of people that can pour hot soup(Obe-ata) on the Iya-oko(Groom's mother) because they were not served food on time.

I call them the ATA WEWE( Aggressives)

Naija wedding is fun. It’s a good place to relax and loosen up all the tension that you have gathered throughout the week.

The education you gave her in this respect was incomplete. You didn't include her own personal responsibility towards other people too, like learning to talk to everyone with courtesy and respect, amongst others.

It isn't an inference, instead it is what is actually contained right there in your Bible. God is the author of the curse that is headship of man/submission in marriage - Genesis 3 vs 16 - 22 - and God never revoked that curse in all of scripture.

Instead, God sent Jesus Christ to give men Salvation from the curse - Jesus Christ restored equality in marriage this by decreasing that He alone is Master/Head/Lord, Teacher, Authority, Shepherd, Helper etc. - Matthew 23 vs 8 - 10 & John 10 vs 1 - 16 & John 16 vs 11 - 20. In His Kingdom all are equals regardless of earthly marital status - Luke 20 vs 34 - 37.

The truth is the ASUU Palava will eventually end someday and you will graduate.

This is a time to reminisce on what you really want to do AFTER SCHOOL. Don't wait until the certificate gets into your hand and then you start running from pillar to post.

In my own case, I waited too late. The day I went to collect my certificate, I cried uncontrollably, because the future looked so bleak and blank.

All I did in school then was to read, cram and pour ( during exam). I wasn't doing any critical thinking or planning. But thank God for HIS mercies that I enjoyed that redeemed me from that hopeless state.

Dear student, start planning for your future now. What are your areas of interest, know it and start equipping yourself .

One advise I will give students is to go learn at least a skill , even more. We live in times that salaries aren't enough again. You must have multiple streams of income.

There are vocational skills ranging from tailoring, baking, photography, automobiles repair,etc.

You can also chose digital skills ranging from COPYWRITING, GRAPHIC DESIGN, WEB DESIGN , PROGRAMMING, CONTENT CREATION, SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT, etc

All these Digital skills mentioned are lucrative and you can earn from them while still in school.

But can you support this inference with a verse in the Bible? I mean equality in marriage, what chapter and verse?

1. Ephesians 5 does not quote God since God's curse om marriage in Genesis 3 vs 16, He, God, never revoked.

2. The same God who created marriage in Genesis 2 vs 8 is recorded to have cursed marriage in Genesis 3 vs 16. God's curse on marriage is the source of what you claim as headship for men - the curse is inequality of man and woman in marriage.

3. You are obviously wrong since in Jesus Christ, equally is restored in marriage. Yes, all those who are saved from the curse instead live as equals even in their marriages.

The statements in bold are not true of scripture. Scripture instead states that submission in marriage is a curse placed by God Himself on marriage from after the fall of man- Genesis 3 vs 16 - so it is wrong to claim that submission is God's commandments to men and God is the only one who command His own.

ASUU has refused to call off the strike and you are still at home. Yes, this period is frustrating for you, I know. I was once there. But don't let that deter you. be focused on building your capacity. It is not time to relax, it is the time to learn, unlearn and relearn.

I learned tailoring skills during ASUU strikes in my undergraduate days. Yes, I am a tailor and the skill lives with me. Whenever I need it again, I am going to pick it up.
Yours might not be tailored, but make sure you don't waste this period. Take online courses, Learn graphics, Video editing, Baking, and Photography. Learn something you like.

Yours might be to give back to your community. Volunteer. Yes, serve your community. Organize lessons for out-of-school children. If you are passionate about gender equality like me, mobilize girls and encourage them to develop their capacities.

Teach rural farmers how to grow improved crops. Mobilize people to clear the drainage. Mobilize young teenagers and talk them out of cultism. By doing this, you are also building yourself.

Get a mentor and follow his instructions and respect the relationship. Never beg your mentor for money or disrespect his or her privacy.
Show kindness to everyone. Some small boys today will be big boys tomorrow.
