dduchess90: Hello
Don't use a random address please.
You can use either Uni's it doesn't matter if you don't end up in that school, the result of the TB is what UKVI is after
Cheers I don’t totally agree with you. To avoid non straight forward email, it is in your own interest to use your sponsor’s (school) address for the TB test. |

Loko40: Good afternoon all,
Please, kindly help me out on this situation.
I did my TB test last year in order to complete my Visa application then. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosi which I was placed on six months medications. January was my last treatment month and I was declared clean after the fifth and sixth month sputum test and the end of treatment x-ray though the sixth month sputum test is yet to be ready.
The point now is that I want to do another one for fresh application. My initial school is Staffordshire but I have requested for deposit refund because they have changed their payment plan which will be little stressful for me to meet up.
Now, I have gotten two offers Derby and Salford uni. I am still expecting more so that I will take my time to choose the one I can afford.
My worry is, I want to do another TB test now, So that I will enough time in case there is complain about the Test outcome.
The question is can I use any other UK address apart from school address on the TB test since I have not chosen a particular school?.
Thanks. No sir, wait till you decide on which school you’re going for. Alternatively, you can use an address of any of the schools but you will have to come back later for correction which will cost you time and money. |

Rdfactor: While looking for information, don't be mislead. If things happen like the way this guy said, why are people still studying, why don't they just look for jobs?
The advice I'll give are practical ones that won't involve you shooting yourself in the leg Only to get here and be like "I wasn't told"
$30k in tuition isn't easy money. If it is, Americans won't be taking loans to go to school.
So, why don't you try and apply for an assistantship that'll get your tuition waived? Or better still, if you don't get it, if you have savings enough to cover your first year, that's good too. It's a 2yrs program and the only thing you can do to help yourself is to make sure your tuition is ready or covered in some ways. Don't believe the advice this individual gave you. I don't know why klawaa is giving you such advise, maybe it's what an average nigerian want to hear You won't raise $30k by working illegally and still studying at the same time. The money you get from Uber can sort you accomodations and utilities, but tuition ?? You’re absolutely right, I’m just seeking information from you guys over there, I’m not disputing anything you’ve said. Big thanks for your contribution. |

Rdfactor: You're right. I agree with you. I've personally met people whose studies were truncated because of money too. That's why I think about ways I can give enough information to my people so they can apply for scholarships and needn't worry about getting stressed in such manner Thanks for your contribution. I will look for scholarships and the rest. |

Dreamsss: I also imagined that he asked his question based off the fact that he wanted to know how people offset tuition. But this one that he is all about the cheddar itself and talking about 2 million on a monthly basis, then his best bet is to go and experience things for himself. Nobody can adequately supply him info on that. People are different, so are our experiences. As he's said 2 mill today, so have I known others, that barely made it to finish their programs, because of money problems in that same UK. One thing for sure though, is that neither of the two rhetorics will inform my personal decision to study in the UK. Don’t get me wrong uncle but thanks for your contribution by the way. |

Izanghi: Kenny, I think you're working yourself up over things I feel for now is not important. The first thing I feel you should focus on is to get admission and if possible funding from the school, then your I-20, visa appointment and then get your visa. When you get there you'll get real time advise from Nigerians, or/and international students who have passed the phase you intend to pass and then gather information as much as possible from them and use it legally to your advantage. I believe you should take things one step at a time. All the best. You’re right. I just want to be sure that leaving the UK for the US is the best decision for me at this time that’s why I ask as much questions as I can from people in the system already. If I can make 2M here monthly while working part time as a student, I’m just wondering if America can offer me more. Man need growth bro. |

Donbigi2: I'm sorry boss.
Try save to some extent.
30k+ ain't small money even to citizens.
FYI they buy cars of 20k on a 3 year loan. Sure, I’m aware that money is involved. Thanks for your contribution. |

BigIyanga: Wrong answers to validate your opinions… eg, Walmart from a red state HQ is not going to lower their immigration/e-verify requirements in a blue state. Dont set yourself up for unrealistic expectations. Lolz, thanks. |

BigIyanga: U dey mind them oo… they’ll always over-value 4th-hand info obtained via unreliable sources over imperic and personal experiences enunciated by those who have done it. Granted nobody knows it all, some come here with already made mindset.. lol I have asked an open question about something I do not know so that our people living in the state can contribute and advise. Why not make your own “imperic and personal experience borne contributions” if you live there and know better than making this comment. It’s well!! |

Donbigi2: Naija people just dey look for who will validate what they already believe. More grease to your elbow
Taking ok more jobs will sound nice in theory but trust me. Their academic style isn't like here. That you can just show up during exam.
You will f*ck your mental health, body too. Very very stressful. At least have your first year tuition before leaving That first paragraph was not necessary but thanks by the way. Meanwhile, I live and study in the UK and so, knows how studying works abroad to an extent, just so you know I didn’t ask those questions because I was st*p*d. |

klawaaa: America is a land of illegal immigrants. Over 12 million illegal immigrants! Most of these people in the states work illegally and do the odd jobs like care givers, Uber, Amazon, doordash etc. Depending on the states, they have different state laws that allow undocumented immigrants to thrive. States like NY, MA, CO, CA among other blue states allow immigrants to work without work authorization. Most of these people work to survive and then find their way to adjust their status. So, being a student still give you more opportunity to survive. Shalom! The all-comprehensive answer I’ve been looking for. I believe there must certainly be a way but needed an insider to validate it. God bless👍 |

chibertha: You can work for 20hrs only on campus. To work outside while still in school you must have done one academic year (or 2 semesters) then you would be eligible for
Curriculum practical training aka internship or if you declare financial hardship ( you do not want to go this route) then you will be granted Pre completion OPT ( 20hrs outside school) NOTE If you do this, it eats into your post completion OPT Thank you. |

BigIyanga: If you’re enrolled full time, you are allowed 20hrs/wk when school is in session; and 40hrs/wk during holidays… Thank you uncle. So, you mean with just my F1 visa I am eligible for work in US while studying without the OPT? That’s just the area I want to clear please🙏 Regards. |

chibertha: SEE ANSWERS IN BOLD Thank you once again, the list of universities is inundating to be fair lol, but should be worth it anyways.. Now one last one please. Are you saying that there’s no legal way at all a student can be working part time (no matter how little) while studying without the OPT thing? How do you guys do it please? Because this is the opposite of what happens here in UK 🇬🇧. A student makes VERY GOOD money even while enrolled here. |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Kenny4smart(m): 3:52pm On Mar 23, 2023 |
chibertha: Since you are none STEM you should have one of the plans below;
Look for OPT accompanies that will file H1B for you, or Get any company that accepts you and stay there and look for another that will give you H1B
or
Go for PhD straight or another maters that is STEM eg health informatics
or go for PhD or another study after your 1 year OPT
Then while in PhD consider NIW
NOTE you can not do OPT again if you go back for the same level of study after the first one so think am well well
las las you will be fine Thank you woman of valor for your response . I am currently enrolled for an undergraduate degree in the UK 🇬🇧 which I will be concluding very soon and will like to further in the US. This explains why I know very little or nothing about the US study thread. So if you can be kind enough to guide me further, what’s NIW you talked about please? Again, if an OPT is used while studying, can it still be used again after graduation? Again how easy is it to secure the H1B? And again. do you advise I use my UK degree to pursue a PhD directly, if yes, how possible is this and are there US schools that you are aware of that accepts a UK bachelors for direct PhD? Your guidance will be highly appreciated. Warm Regards. |

Gokoyer0: Does stipend( cost of living with house rent) included? If it's not included, I will go to USA.
Our people in UK will not tell everything they are going through. You can imagine paying Electricity bills of 300pounds alone. No student pays £300 for electricity bill anywhere in the UK. Authenticate your finding please. |

Guys, just a quick one about the OPT thing please. I understand that it is a one year work permit during or post study for international students in non STEM degrees. If I activate the OPT while doing a 2 years Msc program, the permit should be exhausted one year into that program. Now, what happens in the second year please? Further, If an OPT has been exhausted during study. Am I eligible for a new OPT after graduation?
Your clarity on the practicality of this will be very much appreciated 🙏
Warm Regards. |

Khalifa022: Hello nairalanders
I just want to say that this forum is very informative. I got offers from the following university: Coventry university Northumbria university Manchester Metropolitan University Robert Gordon University..
I decided to go for RGU offer because of obvious reasons. RGU gave a conditional offer. The conditions are easy except I am expected to deposit 34% of the tuition.
My questions are: Do I need unconditional offer before the deposit or after ? Is there anyone that has the problem to advise me on the best course of action? Is there any WhatsApp group for RGU September 2022?
You get unconditional offer once all conditions attached to the offer are meant and so, payment of the tuition fee deposit is one of such conditions. Consequently, your offer can only be unconditional once the tuition fee deposit is received.
Good luck!
Thanks |

Poanan: For some banks there is a way the bal shows. Some will show total bal and show the POF on lien as unavailable bal. This part normally will show in the summary part of the statement somewhere up. A bank statement never shows if an account was placed on a PND or Lien. Stop misinforming people here! |

These are useful resource links you can utilise to get your desired accomodation.
Search for your preferred type, hit the agent or landlord up via email and explain your circumstances that you are an international student coming in for the first time.
You'll typically need a guarantor to getone though but you can still make pre-atrival plans to get somewhere on the interim.
I have a friend who just graduated from Sheffield though but trust out naija people have showed him so it is difficult to recommend to him for help now. His family usually house new arrivals for a while till they find their footing. Do you mind a shared accomodation in Sheffield Hallam University? |
