Hi guys, i just got these information of documents to be submitted at Point of Entry but i dnt seem to understand how to go about documents no5 and no6. Please can anyone throw more lights on these. Thanks

Hello Jeff,

You will find this useful while at the POE;

The CBSA officer will ask to see your travel documents when you arrive in Canada. Make sure they are not packed in your luggage, and that you have them with you. This will help speed up your entry to Canada.

You should be ready to show the following documents:

1.) A Valid International Passport or Travel document

2.) The letter of introduction from the visa office that you received when your study permit was approved (this letter contains your permit reference number and the CBSA officer needs this letter to issue your study permit)

3.) A Valid temporary resident visa (if required)

4.) A copy of the Letter of Acceptance from the designated learning institution at which you are accepted to study

5.) Proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in Canada and

6.) Letters of reference or any other documents recommended by the visa office where you applied

Carry these items and all other valuable papers, cash and traveler’s cheques with you at all times. Do not put them in your checked luggage.

You may not be allowed into Canada if any of your documents are missing or if any of the information on your application or letters of reference is incorrect.

u can print Out ur statement of account and ur sponsor's statement of account. u can also present ur debit cards

don't worry about no 6

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by kennykentipsy: 1:15pm On Aug 11, 2015
hey guys i need shear this with u

today I was at my internet service providers office owned by Indians at illupeju i asked of their oga at the top to say hello and inform him I will be off the country to Canada cos we kinda close he told me he just came from Indian to resolve his son's issue with CIC in India.

the issue of denial after medicals was a problem too in India due to so many Complains India government petitioned CIC and the excuse given was too much applications so in other to save time cos most resumption dates are near they send medical request to applicants while their apps are still being processed if ur app is OK they send u approval mail if not then it a denial.

the cost of medical test in India is expensive. so this sparked the complains

Hello Guys.. congrats to those who already got their TRVs and God speed to those still hopeful. i am about to make my own application after my first delay last year. i have a couple of questions here and there just to be sure. . firstly, last year the agent i applied through, in the family info form, filled only one sibling for me. now that i am applying again, by myself do i include my other two siblings? or stick to the one sibling? secondly, my father who is my co-sponsor, with about 3m, has this amount in a fixed deposit. and he has the fixed deposit certificate. would he still need to liquidate the amount into his account before printing his SOA for my application? or would the fixed deposit certificate just serve fine? thanks for your help so far guys. kiss kiss kiss

well in my own case my sponsor had 5M. 3M was in fixed deposit and 2M was in the account all she did was print out her SOA and attached the Fixed deposit without liquidating the fixed deposit

ur dad can include in his sponsorship letter he saved up that 3M to support ur education blah blah

@kennykentipsy
The $300 POS/Online transaction daily limit policy has been reviewed. This is from GTB
"Please be informed that we have just been notified today 10/08/2015 that you are now eligible to make a $10,000 monthly POS/Online transaction; such that you can decide to initiate a $10,000 transaction in a day-which automatically means you have exhausted your monthly limit, this was updated after the initial circular sent during the weekend."

sounds better ....thanks Bea

Hmmm... so I decided to run from here because of the pressures and especially refusals after medical exam saga towards the end of last month. But unfortunately I didn't escape it.
Submission date: 30th June
Medical call: 15th July
Medical assessment: 17th July
Date refused: 28th July
Dispatch mail: 3rd August
Passport pass back: 10th August
Reason: insufficient fund.
Please don't be discouraged to apply by my visa refusal, it was my error not theirs.
Cheers!

what was the error at least u made it to medicals so ur documents were ok to some extent... list ur docs

I'm would recommend Stanbic and Diamond. They're quite consistent with their rates. Apart from withdrawal limit, there are now $300USD daily limits for online and POS transactions as well so you might want to go with all your cards just so you don't get stranded. If any of your cards is about to expire, just renew it before you go

OMG $300 limit for pos I tot it was N1000000 ?

all my ATMs still have 3 years expiry dates

what am nt sure about diamond bank's atm do I have to notify them I wanna use my card abroad for an upgrade or Its gonna work straight away?

Yes there are size restrictions, different airlines have different restrictions especially for hand luggages. Normal luggages hardly ever exceed the maximums anyway so don't worry about that. You can check http://wikitravel.org/en/Airline_baggage to know if your airline has such restrictions

am using a laptop bag as hand luggage is that OK?
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by kennykentipsy: 8:52am On Aug 09, 2015
apart from the weight of the luggage is there a maximum size for luggage length?

Let me just drop this here
http://www.inspection.gc.ca/food/information-for-consumers/travellers/what-can-i-bring-into-canada-/eng/1389648337546/1389648516990#a2 You travel with contraband items at your own risk. People may have successfully smuggled milk or gala or even suya in but that doesn't mean you'll be that lucky too. People may end up paying up to $10,000 in fines and penalties (I don't mean to scare you, watch BorderForce if you doubt) and they'll still throw it all in the garbage or if you're lucky enough, you may not get fined. Please make Border Force and Google your friends so you can keep yourself abreast of the rules and regulations.
There are things we can get away with like not declaring all foods even though we're supposed to but to avoid unnecessary wahala and delay at the point of entry, try not to carry any meat or milk or if you must, conceal them properly and be ready for the worst. They're not too harsh on first-time offenders though but please do not break the rules, it's not worth it.
If you have to fry meat to eat on the plane, finish it or thrash it before you get off the plane.
Cheers

mehn am not risking it... but I can pack noddles

I have a few questions for folks in Canada concerning accommodation

what does first and last month rent mean??

if a room is on 8 month's lease does it mean I have to pay for the 8months outright? and what ar the implications of lease.

I wanna understand this first before paying. thank you
