CHERIPH:
Dear house members, i got my wife delayed package yesterday and what was ticked was

1-Lenght of proposed stay in Canada
2-purpose of visit.

she applied via paper route on June 8,,,,1 year post-graduate diploma in Conestoga college. she paid half tuition fee. but what baffles me was that, she attached the school offer letter to her package but when she got it back yesterday, the admission letter was missing from her documents.

How soon can she re-apply cos she is suppose to resume September 8

wen I got my documents back also my offer letter was missing though I got my TRV so I can always reprint..

since she was delayed she should notify the college about her delay she can then differ her admission and another offer letter would be sent to her

meanwhile list out the documents she submitted let the gurus in the house run a check on it

Please those already in Canada, I know someone has asked this question in the past but what documents will I need at the POE. I never got my admission package so I'm abit worried.
I contacted my school and they sent the following documents via email:
1). Acceptance letter
2). Welcome letter from the dean
3). Data Form
4). Enrolment Verification Letter
And I have my receipts and telex copy + visa approval letter from CIC.
Do you think there's anything else that may be in a typical admission package that isn't listed above?
Thanks

The CBSA officer will ask to see your travel documents
when you arrive in Canada. Make sure they are not
packed in your luggage, and that you have them with
you. This will help speed up your entry to Canada.
You should be ready to show the following documents:
a valid passport or travel document

the letter of introduction from the visa office that
you received when your study permit was approved
(this letter contains your permit reference number
and the CBSA officer needs this letter to issue your
study permit)

a valid temporary resident visa (if required)

a copy of the letter of acceptance from the

designated learning institution at which you are
accepted to study

proof that you have enough money to support
yourself during your stay in Canada and

letters of reference or any other documents
recommended by the visa office where you
applied.

Carry these items and all other valuable papers, cash
and traveller’s cheques with you at all times. Do not
put them in your checked luggage.

You may not be allowed into Canada if any of your
documents are missing or if any of the information on
your application or letters of reference is incorrect.

Don't mind them, all this is just a way of making money for the airline.... If you are going for a program that is less than a year in duration, please book a return ticket but if you are going for a program that is one year or above in duration, go ahead and get a one leg ticket because every return ticket valid for a year and it also depends on the rules attached to the class and fare..... don't be bothered, nobody will challenge you at the boarding pass desk if you are holding student visa for 1 year....

but wen I was about booking with wakanow the customer care rep was like I should get a return ticket though I ended up booking oneway it had since left me bothered

Most people use Voip apps when calling naija. Telbo was 2.5c/minute just a few months ago but cost 4c/minute now. That's what I use. There are other apps like Rebtel and others. Some offer free credits or points when you visit ads on the app. Viber and Skype also comes in handy.

pls what apps gives free credits or point?

Your milk will most likely be thrown into the garbage. Don't waste your money. Milk isn't really expensive. You can get a litre of fresh milk for $1-2. It'll even be heavy in your luggage sef. Just my opinion sha

I know am just saying provisions ar cheaper

if God provides a job there, that expensive food will look so cheap.

just saying tho....ill hav preference for clothes than food...as those once wud last when the food has finished...

as for me 1 box for clothing the other box for food atleast I won't spend on food for a while

As a student with effect from 1 June 2014, you no longer have to apply for a work permit seperately, just present your passport with a valid TRV and Letter of Introduction (if you have it) to the immigration officer at the port of entry and a study permit with the conditions for work (20hrs term time and work till you faint during holidays lol) will be issued to you.

OK thanks sir I guess the letter of introduction is still the same as POE letter

When I said liquid, I actually meant things like groundnut oil, palm oil, Palm wine, etc. I have seen them actually trash such things at the airport here in Nigeria.
Every other thing including cosmetics should be in your checked-in luggage.
Since you are basically entitled to 2luggage, 1carry.on, and 1 handbag, I think you should do this:
- 1st luggage = all clothes, shoes, cosmetics, and others
- 2nd luggage = all foodstuff
- Carry-on = the remaining clothes plus electronic gadgets like laptops
- Handbag = squeeze in few clothes.
I think this should do the trick.

exactly how I arranged my luggage

Although I'm yet to get my trv, but from my experience with other embassies, it is not unusual for the embassy to first contact you. You got that mail because your visa has been granted. Your documents is still with them, but soon would be sent to VFS, it is after then, that vfs will contact you to come for your documents......if I were you, I would start making preparations for flight and accommodation. But you can still ask the elders who have gotten their TRVs sha.....

u have spoken well
