A Nigerian man while decrying the rate of hypocrisy among religious people, has said it’s better to be a Nigerian Atheist than become a Nigerian Christian or Muslim.

The man identified as Michael Nwanator on Facebook wrote that while Nigeria is recognized as the most religious country in the world, it is also the poverty capital of the world and he wonders what the benefit of religion is to the people of the country.

Nigeria is the most religious nation in the world and the poverty capital of the world. Over 91 million are living below poverty line. Over 91 million people are EXTREMELY POOR. The number keep increasing everyday.

Nigeria is attributed to anything bad in the international community.

Less religious countries prosper than us. To me, Nigeria is 1,000 years behind China �� and Japan ��.

If religion can’t make us live a moral upright life, what use is the religion?

What do they teach in religious gatherings in Nigeria ��?

I don’t think there’s any Atheist holding a top government position in the country��. On Friday and Sunday, you will see them in their various religious places, but why are we in this mess?

I still don't believe being religious makes one poor or rich because many are just blaming region which is not their fault. Take a look at the 2 most religious countries in the world and see how active the government are in those countries. When the government isn't active, people look for alternatives. This is what brought about being too religious and people will begin to look for MIRACLE. That's why if someone performs miracle, whether it's fake, authentic, or whatsoever, people will not mind going there.

In Nigeria I see Gorverment 40% active
Religion is 30%
The Remaining 30% goes to other vices like kidnapping, fraudsters, armed robbery, ritual killing and others.

1. Bowen university

Bowen University is owned and operated by the Nigerian Baptist Convention. Located at Iwo in Osun state it is housed on the campus of the Baptist College which is a teacher-training institution just outside the city of Iwo.

For Bowen university their school fees are as follows:

– For students in B.A. and B. Sc. Programmes, a minimum of N300,000 must be paid from the session fees in the first semester before registration.

– For students in the law faculty, a minimum of N500,000 must be paid from the session fees in the first semester before registration.

– For students in the medicine and surgery department (pre-clinical) , all fees and levies must be fully paid at the beginning of the first semester while a minimum of N 800,000 must be paid before registration.

2. Covenant university


Covenant University is a private Christian university and a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. It located in Ota, Ogun state, Nigeria.
For Covenant university the school fees ranges from N774, 500 for courses such as Banking an Finance, Economic and Development studies, Business management and so on to to N814,000 for engineering programmes and Architecture.


3. Benson Idahosa university


The Benson Idahosa University (BIU) is a private, Christian university in Benin City. It was named in honor of Archbishop Benson Idahosa, a charismatic pentecostal minister from Benin and the university reflects his evangelical beliefs.
At Benson Idahosa university the students of Agriculture pay the lowest fees, which is N278,000 per session in their final year, while students of law pay as much as N1,150,000 in their first year and N643,800 by their final year. Mathematics students pay N583,000 per session.


4.Babcock university

Babcock University is a private Christian co-educational Nigerian university owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist church in Nigeria.
In Babcock university, education program students pay the lowest school fees which is N244,000 per session, while the highest paying students are Accounting, Nursing science and Computer science students who pay as much as N482,000 in their first year alone.

5. Redeemer’s University

Redeemer’s University was established in 2005, and it is owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God. It is located at Ede, off Gbongan-Oshogbo Road, Osun state, Nigeria.
At Redeemer’s university, admission fees alone run into N110,000 in the first year. With tuition fees and other fees running into N695,000 in the first year alone.

6. Ajayi Crowther university

The Ajayi Crowther university is located in Oyo state, Nigeria. The university was established by the Supra Diocesan Board , West of the Church of Nigeria popularly known as the Anglican Communion.
The faculty of humanities in the Ajayi Crother university pays as much as N395,000 per session and it happens to be the lowest. The faculty of law students pay N690,000 in tuition fees every session.

7. Madonna university

Madonna university is a private catholic university in Nigeria. It was founded on May 10, 1999 in Okija, Anambra state. In Madonna, medicine students pay as much as N925,000 in their first year’s first semester alone. In the second semester they pay N575,000, which brings the total they pay in their first year to about N1,490,000.

ppl like you Sud try N get some info b4 misleading others. Many of us are just going to church for going sake. There lots of informations being pass within a church nationwide that many of us didn't even hear abt. All we do is to come to NL and read the shit some are posting. In Redeem as a member, there is discount for members ranging from 10% to 70% depending on where you belong and am very sure other denominations are doing the same thing. Pls gt fact b4 coming to mislead others.
As far as am concerned apart from the air we breathe in and out, nothing is free anywhere in the world.

Let me tell this little story of mine.
I was depressed and wanted to commit suicide early last year, before I do this let me write to churches, especially branches of my then church (RCCG).
I sent over 50 emails to different branches both in Nigeria, USA and Canada and even the headquarters (Redemption camp), all over 50 e-mails got delivered and I didn’t get response from none and I mean none o.
“ They get a lot of emails soliciting for money” I know this bullshit which made me follow up with calls but once they hear it’s not donation, they’ll hang up. I even asked they are willing to employ me cos I’m a graduate with good grade but na lie.
That made me believe they are business ventures and never about no one’s well-being.

My brother I want you to understand something. In every area of man's life satisfaction can never be reached. Look around and see where individuals run to for help {not the government, charity organizations} but churches and since the government isn't reliable enough, the belief the church is the best option and this so churches can't meet everybody's need no matter how big they can be. Many don't have any problem but they just want help for nothing. That is what Nigerians can do. Use yourself as an example, is it every1 that ask you for help you can render help to.

To all NL, i want you all to know that nobody or organization even the Gorverment can meet every need around them. So let's our complaint be minimal and at the same time let judge with our head.

Yes he's a thief but the church's approach is very wrong. Why not find out his reason for such action, preach to him, and assist him financially if possible. If you're so angry at him, call the police and not this embarrassment. I can assert that if it was the car he attempted stealing, he would have been burnt to death by the so called people who preach love and forgiveness. I guess they're now satisfied after disgracing the thief themselves.

It's like you are related to the guy.... They should preach to him and assist him so that other people like him can continue or do the samething since help will end up assisting them... (who no need assistance in this present situation in Nigeria)..........
