aurenflani: The power of incumbency is not only the reason to be succeessful against your opponents. Being incumbent is not an end by itself. it is only a means and that means GEJ has so far not been able to use to convince his political friends who helped him during 2011 PDP CONVENTION that he is with them afterwards. These guys are the serving governors and states and local party chairmen.@ Aurenflani, believe me, GEJ will win the primaries, fair, blue and square. Check my earlier comments. As long as he controls the party hierarchy at the National level, the Governors can be handled, even when the try to get heady. All he needs do is factionalise any state where the governor is becoming difficult, accredit his own faction at the convention, and he wins! You know party factions emerge due to interests. It's an old small politicking trick. Like I also mentioned earlier, these governors can't be trusted. They protect their own interests first. I hope you remember how Gov Timpre Sylva was handled by GEJ. Do you know that EFCC has come out to say they are investigating 12 governors? Do u understand where that is coming from? Those are tips of power of incumbency. See, GEJ may seem stupid, incompetent and a non-performer, but he knows the game. I reiterate, only a foolish incumbent President looses election in Africa. Besides, the desperation by the so called North whose leadership does not even have any political value and advantage to win at all cost will work in GEJ's favour, as this will make him to curry people's favour, just like it happened in 2011. Looks like it's already happening on this forum. You know why? People hate the bullish attitude of the north towards grabbing power just because the north feels marginalised. How they are been marginalised is what I don't even know. A region that has ruled for close to 40 years, does not produce any wealth for the nation, yet feed fat on wealth from other regions and still feel marginalised just because a southerner has ruled for 2 years? Is that truly funny? Suffice it to state that the north is not even united to make anything happen. If indeed there is a united north, why do you have "core" north, christian northerners, middle- belt and co? A united north does not even stand a chance talk less of a divided north. I know it's painful to admit, but the north has really lost power in this country and I don't know how they will get it back, at least for now. Sustained violence can't even though the magic. For me, Boko Haram is more of a political tool, ostensibly to parade GEJ as incapable of handling the nation's security challenges. If not, why can't these 'northern leaders' devote their energy to tackling it rather than gun for the Presidency? Who is fooling who? Do you think 'stupid' GEJ doesn't know?. However, Boko Haram( BH) can go on as long as it can. It will only harm the North the more. Whose properties are BH destroying? Whose economy? How many investors have the north attracted with BH? And if you don't know, the militants in the Niger Delta are still silently kept active. Do you think GEJ gives them billions of security contract for nothing? That "slowpoke" President knows what he is doing please. I maintain, he holds the ace and he will win if he wants to. This is Nigeria, this is Africa! |
aurenflani: Point of correction! At the PDP convention, only two states voted in favour of Atiku from the north. Not even his state delegates from Adamawa voted in his favour. As to third term massacre, Babangida categorically told the national assembly members that "we are watching you". Do yo know what that means? Obviously not. Your so-called democracy would have been kicked out by now. kenzspunpy: @ Aribisala, you need to get your facts right before you comment. Who told you IBB and Atiku killed 3rd term? If there's anybody to be commended for the death of 3rd term, it should be the then Senate President, Ken Nnamani, who is even a southerner. Who told you the North holds the Nigerian Army? I'm privileged to tell you that right now, the South commands the Army. Do you actually think GEJ is a slowpoke? You make me laugh. Did the North ( IBB and Atiku inclusive) not try to stop him from contesting at all cost in 2011? Can you remember how he floored Atiku at the PDP congress, even with votes coming from many northern states? aurenflani: Point of correction! Your so-called democracy would have been kicked out by now.@ Aurenflani, what is your point? I guess you agreed with me that with the so much noise about Atiku 2011, he was even beaten flat in the North, especially in his state of Adamawa. Can u now see what I'm talking about? Majority of these so called Northern Elders can't do jack when it comes to National Politics. They can only manipulate the vast majority of their illiterate and gullible followers to perpetrate violence. Only violence! Besides, who are these northern leaders self and what are their political pedigree and value? Dr Junaid? Adamu Ciroma? Atiku Abubakar? Buhari? IBB? These guys have been dealt a major blow in 2011 by "slowpoke" GEJ, the President. He is still the President and will do it again as long as he is the President. Agreed that these men have excelled in life, but do they have the required political wizardry? Take it or leave it, the northern governors are more of value politically than these guys and these governors cannot be trusted. They will sell out and support GEJ either by hook or crook because their influence can be manipulated by the PDP national leadership and indeed the Presidency! Like I said earlier, why should power return to the north? On what grounds? The north does not have any joker or cogent reason to seize power. They will only make noise. Even though I can't vote for him and I don't admire him, GEJ will win if he wants it. That is how politics play out, he who holds the ace takes the gain! Take a cue from the last US election, with the seeming popularity of Mitt Romney and disadvantaged position of President Obama in the election build up, who won? Think guys, think. Politics is a game beyond noise making!! |

teskyg: @ Aribasala,u must be high on sometn. You seems a coward pissing in your pant cos some rag torn parasite high on cow dung mutter some words.Your refrence to the structure of the Military tells me you are not abreast with the current developments in the Nigeria security circle. Please,do another research and stop hallucinating.@ Aribisala, you need to get your facts right before you comment. Who told you IBB and Atiku killed 3rd term? If there's anybody to be commended for the death of 3rd term, it should be the then Senate President, Ken Nnamani, who is even a southerner. Did the North ( IBB and Atiku inclusive) not try to stop him from contesting at all cost in 2011? Can you remember how he floored Atiku at the PDP congress, even with votes coming from many northern states? You see, it's easy to raise fingers and type what flows into your brain on this forum, but the truth is, politics is never how it seems. To these politicians, personal interests comes first. Don't be surprised that some core elements in the north will support GEJ when the chips are down. The critical and salient questions are; on what grounds ( be it economic, social, name it) should power return to the North? How can the north seize power from GEJ as it is? What aces do they hold? Is it just enough to play the ethnic or religious card? I hope u remember that this same " slowpoke" GEJ is will still be president when he contests in 2015. GEJ is not, and I repeat, is not a slowpoke as it seems. Check key appointments into sensitive government positions and see who he has placed in strategic positions. Where is the wealth of the nation coming from? Who are the people in charge at the sources of this wealth? For me, that man holds the ace to his re-election , forget about the mere noise that the North will seize power in 2015. He will win fais, square and blue if he seeks office. Why would people even vote for a northerner ( who is even the northern candidate) ahead of an incumbent? In this same Nigeria? Trust me, only a foolish incumbent President will loose an election anywhere in Africa! |
Frankly, I believe the North is playing to the gallery in their desperation to seize power at all cost. On what grounds must they rule? The north has been in power for over 40years and nobody agitated for power in the south. If these so called northern elders are serious about development in the north, they should deploy their energy towards tackling Boko Haram, which is crippling their economy and rendering them poorer rather than gang up against GEJ. How are we sure these northern elders aren't playing politics with Boko Haram? Even though I don't admire GEJ, I believe he is a child of circumstance and he is indeed riding his luck. For me, as long as Nigeria remains the way it is, GEJ can be President in 2015 regardless of the fact that his popularity has waned drastically. Even the egocentric and over- bearing Governors forum can't stop him. The strategy is simple; since he has a strong hold on the PDP leadership, all he needs to do is factionalise any state that is proving difficult, admit his faction at d PDP convention as against d governor's faction, and he will win d party ticket! The final huddle is rigging at the general election! Every in US, an election was manipulated in favour of George bush against Al Gore!! I think the North need to thread softly with this power grabbing thing. I know my position isn't 100% plausible because GEJ winning 2015 is pregnant with a lot of security concerns, but the worst case scenario is a civil war and possible break- up. But can the North even risk a break-up? Believe me, they don't want to go, forget the empty noise about their bullish attitude of willingness to secede. No doubt they will survive, but it will take a lot of hard work and governors of these region are lazy. Allocation from federation account has spoilt them.... |
femmy2010: Working for you.@ Femmy 2010, I'm about to bring in a 2009 Ford Edge from Atlanta, USA. How much will it cost to clear it? Let me know on time so that we can deal please. Thanks.... |
"Intelligence" Report from Sahara Reporters? Bunkum! |
spyder880: Apart from electricals (N100k is too much for only piping) every other thing seems OK. I am assuming your house is the normal 4 bedroom bungalow.the N850k for wood, aluminum sheets and labour is a good price, just ensure the aluminum is the oven baked type. Thanks. Thanks spyder 880, its actually a 3 bedroom house with a tuc-in BQ, which is just by the kitchen. It has a small waiting room. I'm yet to confirm if the aluminium is oven- baked. The wood cost 390k and d sheets 560k. Please and please, how much should I look at for piping, plastering (in and out), windows( casement on my mind), and POP finish? I need rough estimates please. It's just to guide me because it's my first house and I was really been exploited when I began, until I started looking at this section and followed your advise of getting multiple quotes before doing any work. However, I'm also mindful of people doing bad jobs for me, so I rely more on guys, who have built houses at d estate where I'm currently building, given that there jobs are good. Thanks. |
spyder880: Meanwhile, electrical piping is ongoing as we work.@OP, I'm very much inspired by your works, as they have guided me in my own project, thus saving me costs. I'm presently roofing my house, a four bedroom flat with each room ensuite. The cost is 850k, including wood, aluminium long span and aluminium ceiling for the outer parts. Is that fair enough? An electrician gave me a bill of 100k for piping, 160k for wiring and another 160k for fittings. The estimate I got for plumbing 130k. Pls advice, are these quotes ok? Suffice it to add that the project is in Nasarawa state. Thanks |
Originalsly: Were the students forced to enrol in tbe university? Did they not read and understand the requirements? They signed the contract ....then broke it. Who's fault? Didn't they they think of their future?... and the fees their parents invested in them? Knuckleheads.I wonder o. People just talk as if they think from their anus. You have signed a contract, which clearly spells out the terms. You go against it and the dictates of the contract are brought to bear. Whose fault? Were they forced to go to the school? This is even a school that is not affordable for common citizens. If truly the rich kids run foul of the school rules as claimed by the Registrar, let them dance to the music and if not, let their parents seek redress. Rules are rules and should be held sacrosanct, once u sign up! Shikena!! |
[quote author=nagoma]Nothing aggressive about what I said. You know and we all know they are criminals and murderers but it's easier to arrest them and kill them than to interrogate and get to the bottom of the issue . Because then you may stop blaming all Muslims- which is not fashionable. I know that BH have attacked and killed many many Christians at warship and they have also killed Muslims , I have lost relatives and at least one acquaintance as direct result of BH attack and you expect me to enjoy being lumped together with these criminals just because it is expedient to judge a group as Muslims and sentence them to insults and ridicule. Where is the justice for an individual? I am elaborating on this because you sound somehow logical. I also know very well how to insult and ridicule people's and communities. @ Nagoma, well said. Check my first post, I said "some" because I know a lot of very good muslims who are true muslims. The little I know about islam does not teach or preach violence. Indeed, I agree with you describing these killers as common criminals trying to hide under the guise of religion. However, the utterances of some religious leaders on these senseless killings leave much to be desired. A case in point is the origin of this thread. It is vital that we remove all manner of conspiracy, ridicule and suspicion from our thoughts. Nobody is conspiring against anyone. The bottom line is, no true religion supports killing of fellow humans under whatever guise. I rest my case...... |

[quote author=nagoma]@ Nagoma, why are u getting aggressive and taking it personal? You make me laugh. Search your soul young man, search your soul. We know there are criminals and we know there are religious fanatics. The signs are easy to identify..... |
nagoma: You obviously did not care to find out how Muslims were massacred in southern kaduna. Your dual background did not tea ch you anything about objectivity. Why should I care to find out? I'm not speaking for anybody ok? I'm against any form of killing for the sake of religion, be it by christians or muslims. I maintain, it is pure madness and lunacy to kill simply because others don't take to your religion. Only a fake christian will kill for the sake of religion because If indeed your faith is genuine, u don't coerce or kill people for them to embrace it. People naturally embrace it. In fact, seeing those who don't believe it as infidels is even insane, talk less of killing them and that goes for both christians and muslims! And for ur info, I'm from a soild christian home and I'm proud. My parents are solid christians. I only have grand parents, uncles and aunts who respect the sanctity of human life and are sane muslims, not religious bigots!! |
I actually wonder if some of these muslims are humans. I say some because I'm from a muslim- christian background in the south west and non of my muslim family members exhibit any kind of fanaticism and religious insanity. How do u kill people just because they are not of your faith? To me, that is complete insanity. Was Mohammad, whom they seek to protect at all cost born a muslim? If people of other faith were being killed during his time, will he ever have the chance to embrace islam? Do you ever force people to take to believe in your cause if it is truly genuine?. These guys are just senseless, inhuman, insane and devils from the pit of hell! To whom human life is worthless, insanity describes such a character. These guys are simply hungry cannibals, unfit to be called humans... |
Did u say $15000? How much will u deliver a 2006 Mercedes Benz E320? Thanks... |
Moderators, please watch out for fraudulent posters and posts like this on nairaland. How can someone post a tokunbo 2001 Toyota Camry for 200,000 without any detail but phone number?. It will be of great disservice if scam posts like this dont receive sanctions and are allowed to be viewed by serious potential buyers. It will ultimately erode the credibility of this website . Don't let these scammers discredit this site and turn it to unreputable sites like google trader. Please! |
