delugajackson: You have shown us your Range Rover, your Finger-print door, your Bentley, your famous gate, your studio and your mansion. But when are you showing off your wedding ring? Will you remain a single baby-mama for life? You've got a poor mind. If she wants to marry today, men will line up. The difference is she wants classy man, not people like you. Secondly, you've not gotten anything that she owns. |

Ritchiee: This is a good piece but every community must have a rallying point as in a leader for good governance. This is why every nation, household, business etc has a head, leader, CEO etc. I laugh at times when Igbos say they do not have leaders,kings....that was in the olden days but you have now because you are more civilized.
A man is a political animal. It is very disheartening to hear some Igbos say they do not need political power but business power or whatever. Politics control businesses all over the world.Every rich man from Bezos to Dangote depends on politics/power to survive.and grow one way or the other.
You cannot succeed in business when the power to be is against you. When Jakande wanted to do the Metroline in Lagos,Buhsri who was in power then stopped that laudable project, when Aguiyi Ironsi saw thatvthe SW was growing at a rapid state more than the rest of the country,he introduced unitary system of government whereby almost everything is controlled from the centre. Do not underestimate or compare power/politics with business. He who has the power, has all.Ask Kalu.Ask Abiola. Igbos should try to build bridges to obtain power so that they do not become permanent slaves. We don't need your bridge, we don't need it. |

Olumyco: Large volume of trade transcend to better economy Sir. When the business/economy activity in a country is low it affects the economy of the country. Why do job creation, industries, companies and co contributes to the GDP of a country? Because they are economic activities.
About Standard of living.... there are many factors that determines the standard of living in a country. Standard of living simply means what the country has to give a quality life/living. So things like economy, infrastructure, security, Govt. policies and co determines the quality of life you get in a country. A country like South Africa has a higher standard of living than Nigeria but not by 4 times... that is exaggeration. Their standard of living is much rooted in infrastructure because they have it more than Nigeria not because of GDP per capital. GDP per capital is one of it but will still have to depend on the infrastructure in the country and the economy in terms of prices of goods and services. A country with inflation how will GDP per capital shine in such places/give standard of living. Security, market price and co are still problems in SA. Sir... Why is Switzerland GDP per person 40 times better India? While Switzerland total trade doesn't come close to India, since you're of the opinion that it's majorly volume of trade, instead of volume of trade divided by the population. |

KGD10: Lagos was known for trading at their coast which was how the colonial masters found Nigeria. Lagos natives were known to have been selling Palm oil and palm fruits, slaves, clothes such as Aso Oke, Adire etc
Fact is Lagos seaport was built before the Amalgamation of Nigeria. Sink that into your skull. Oga... Why wasn't it a commercial hub then for all the neighboring states like it is now? |
Politics › Re: Facts About Igbos And Igboland. by kernel001: 10:49pm On Mar 13, 2019 |
KGD10: Will you keep quiet? No FG built any housing estates in Lagos like we have in Abuja today. Lagosians were all going to federal court house to use the toilet as at when Lagos was the capital until Awolowo built housing estates in Lagos.
Heck, the first Nigeria housing estates and industrial lay out in Lagos were created by Awolowo. Lagos seaport was built before the Amalgamation of Nigeria. So what nonsense are you spewing from that sewage cesspit?
As a matter of fact, only Ikoyi was under the federal government, other Lagos areas were under SW regional leader and that was why the first housing estates in Lagos was built by Awolowo. Lekki of today was the brainchild of Tinubu and we know of several housing estates and industrial lay out built in Lagos by Jakande. No dey say stupid rubbish.
As for Ogun state, whose fault that ogun state has limestone resources that dangote and the quarry mining industries need to have sited their industry. Don't you know industry are sited close to their raw material? Abi this one is mad ni? Oyo IGR dwarf that of Enugu or Anambra, your supposed developed state. Yeye. It wasn't estate Awolowo built that made Lagos any good. It was bridges, Airports, Seaports, Roads, Military installation, Stadiums and Proclaimed capital that gave birth to anything in Lagos. Why isn't Oyo, Osun and Ondo enjoying massive developments? Abuja today is investment destination, because of Federal government investments, not because of state initiatives. |

KGD10: Lmao. Lekki a new city was built by the FG? Ikeja was built by FG? Eko Atlantic city was built by FG? Some people are roaming mad.
Ogun state which has the highest number of industries was developed by the FG?
See below and cure your madness. https://www.nairaland.com/4997642/pictures-states-recorded-n264.38bn-igr Oga... I said whatever Lagos enjoys today, is as a result of massive investment of federal government in time past, same goes to Abuja. They weren't self made states. Ogun state! Google for the meaning of the word Capital flight. Ogun state is enjoying lack of space in Lagos, not because it has better infrastructures, and having said that, many of these companies don't pay tax and when they make money they launder it out of Ogun state. To prove my point, a Chinese firm bought a quarry in Ogun, I don't want to mention the exact location, for 50million Naira only, they've spent over 4 years there. They sell nothing less than 80 trucks of granites daily, meaning they make an average 5 million per day, and the community road is bad, raising dust affecting the residents health, Sir... These people don't have any forms of investment in this place, is that the type of industries you have boost of? Abeokuta still has a lot of mud houses, why? |
