TravelUS, UK Warn Their Citizens Not To Travel To Kaduna, Borno, Other Nigerian States by kesmalindo(op): 7:39am On Feb 26, 2017
The United States of America and two other countries, have warned their citizens not to travel to some states in Nigeria.
This is in view of the planned closure of the Abuja Airport, which will see flights diverted to the Kaduna Airport from March 8.
The Department of State of the United States on its website, www.travel.state.gov, advised Americans against traveling to Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Kano, and Yobe states “because the security situation in the North remains fluid and unpredictable.”
Relatively, the United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office on www.gov.uk, also warned its citizens not to travel to Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Gombe states.
Also, Canadians have been warned by their government on www.travel.gc.cam not to travel to Borno, Adamawa, Kaduna, Bauchi and others “due to the high risk of terrorism, inter-communal violence and kidnapping.”
Only Lagos, Abuja and Calabar are listed as safe cities in Nigeria

AutosBlackberry Is Quietly Trying To Make A Comeback — But Not With Phones by kesmalindo(op): 8:53am On Jan 13, 2017
(Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visits Blackberry's autonomous research center.Reuters/Blair Gable)
Blackberry has had quite the fall from grace.
What was once the world's biggest smartphone maker is now out of the phone manufacturing business altogether. Since 2009, its market share has fallen from 20% to just .1%.
But Blackberry is looking to stage a comeback, just not with smartphones. Blackberry has been quietly ramping up its self-driving car software efforts to compete with the likes of Apple down the line.
Before you completely dismiss the old handset maker, it's worth remembering that Blackberry owns the QNX Operating System. That's the operating system Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system runs on, as well as General Motors' new OnStar system and the Audi TT virtual cockpit. It also supports Apple's CarPlay.
Blackberry QNX is running in more than 60 million vehicles as of the end of 2014, with over 40 automakers relying on the software platform, Grant Courville, senior director of product management at QNX, told Business Insider.
Colin Bird, senior analyst of automotive technology at IHS Markit, told Business Insider that Blackberry QNX is currently the leader in the connected car space, which includes infotainment, navigation, telematics, and rear-seat entertainment. QNX has a market share of about 47% and its closest competitor is Linux with 20% market share.
Blackberry is now modifying its QNX platform so it can run self-driving car tech as well.
The idea is to give automakers a secure platform to run their self-driving car software. Since self-driving cars are still in their early days, many automakers are running the software on massive computers sitting in car trunks.

PoliticsRe: Whistle Blower: NIM Backs FG On 5% Reward by kesmalindo(m): 8:02am On Dec 28, 2016
ercel:
The whistle blower reward of 5% is too low,the stake should be raised to at least 10%,of course except the target is those who stole in billions and not a wholistic approach to include those who pilfer or corruptly corner funds in lower amounts. For instance, where someone has proof of his/her boss corruptly obtaining public fund to the tune of N5 Million and the reward is N250 thousand it discourages - because when corruption starts fighting back N250k won't do a thing.
By raising the stake to 10 or 15% a whistleblower can hide under a representative (lawyer),when FG pays reward both can share based on a percentage,in fact many of our jobless or underemployed lawyers will be greatly employed under such scheme.
even the 5 percent is not a good idea...what if the money we are talking about is billion dollarshuh? I wish the whistle blower can be protected and reward legally instead of this 5 percent thing
