If you mistake A for B in Australia without clearing it straight away, you can get into so much trouble that you would be wondering if you offended yourself ancestors. Integrity is everything with these guys. Nigerians mock around with so many things and they end up in trouble. Otumbalamba: Whats there to be discreet about ......they rejected they application because he interchanged brother with uncle.
That's all .....what do you want him to do ........sit down and cry or start begging them.
I only suggested they next option to him which is to apply to another school......is there anything wrong with that. |

Yes,but I failed to do that, beside I was already carrying my backpack and one other small bag so the lady refused to allow me jayooh: Please how many kg over the acceptable 7kilos was your hand luggage that they had to withhold it? I thought you'd have packed immediate needs within hand luggage to avoid have to unpack and pack checked in luggage upon arrival. I'm not sure I would be able to leave mine. |

Was given a tag by the airline staff. When I pay in Australia, it will be sent with the next flight. So she said.. I really over carried oo jayooh: I don't get, are you not meant to carry your hand luggage by yourself? Was it left at MMIA or where? In whose care was it left?
Travelling tip: if you can avoid travelling with the trolley boxes please do, it gives some edge in kg as boxes already weight 3-5kg if not more being empty. Light leather or sport fabric bags can do. IMO
Travellers can also use a bathroom scale to check their luggage mass while packing. So you're not caught unaware at the point of exit. |

Extra 23kg and my supposed hand luggage was withheld also for being over 7kg so i will have to pay for that one again or ask someone to go pick it up at the airport. Because of tight schedule, had to ask someone to book my flight and the supposed agent didn’t help matters. No reservations for 18hrs layover, had to pay $198 so I can atleast sleep small. jayooh: how many kg extra did u have? |
Travel › Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by kessel: 6:26am On Jul 21, 2018 |
Thanks I did but not picking,I paid through my nose. Spent over 100k and the stress involved too. It’s not an experience I wish anyone jayooh: You could have called the airline to clarify what their excess luggage charge is. Or you can do away with certain item that can be purchased easily over there.
Safe flight |

Nice one Am patiently waiting for the continuation as I will be in by Monday fobak203: For the benefit of my friends and e-dam waiting to apply for visa, already applied, waiting for grant, or will be granted tomorrow morning. Let me share my one month experience in Australia with an associated advice.
I came in 2nd June (after three days pilgrimage). I finally touched down and my friend told me to take the cab to his house. I paid 110dollars to his house, my eyes rolled. I just paid my debt not long ago. That one na Welcome to Australia
Advice: Your best option is to request for airport pick up from your school. Second, you can take the train if nor pack Nigeria come. Thirdly, pay the 110dollars and shake your body when you reach your destination.
On getting to his house, my body confuse. Naija and Australia sleeping hours come dey compete for my body.
Advice: Relax well, for about two days, Sleep, wake up, sleep and wake up again.
Next, I decided to enrol early for some reasons, but e nor work. I applied for TFN, White Card and ABN on the space of two days.
Advice: TFN and White Card are your two best shots to land most jobs here in Australia, check Iliad answer a week ago.
Fast forward, I landed three tutor jobs and a Landscaping job in the space of two weeks. Tutoring was good, but e nor pay me the money wey I need. Landscaping did.
Advice: Apply for TFN, once you have an Australian address where they can send your Letter. White Card is just 39dollars, other forklift, aged care cert can be up to 100,rising to 200dolls or more. Me I kuku take the short route. I also got the Working with Children Check later on. It's good too.
Since then, until now, I have been combining my research work and money work without nay stress.
To be continued... |
