I've always been an advocate of 2+ odds on this thread and most importantly singles. Hopefully guys will have a change of heart. By the way, you don't have to stake today if you don't feel like, you should be in control of punting and not the other way round. As a former Catholic now fully grown ATHEIST, those who claim catholics pay tithes are the ones lying. I was born in a staunch catholic home and attended a minor Seminary, never for once did the Rev.Fathers,Bishops,Monsignors,Monks e.t.c I came across teach the false tithe doctrine.
Those Catholics you hear mention tithes are either of these:
1. Those who know nothing about the Catholic Church's doctrine,
2. Those who are Church whores today they are Redeemed,tomorrow they are Living Faith next tomorrow they are back to the Catholic Church with imported doctrines
3. Those who are in the feel among parishes where the Priests who head such parishes have started this false tithe doctrine, seed sowing, first fruits, paying for prayers e.t.c. and will never use their brains to think. They just swallow it all hook, line and sinker.
4. Its 2015, a lot of bullsheet has been going on in Nigerian churches. Nothing new.

The Catholic Church encourages people, mostly Catholic Adults who are capable to do so, to give to its charity based organisations and also help its local church to grow but not under an obligation to be giving a specified percent.

There is nothing in the Catechism, Canon Law or any official Catholic church publication or teaching about 10% a.k.a tithe giving.

You Catholics should go learn more about your doctrines.
