@whyna or anyone with sufficient know-how, how can we beat the "accent" challenge? Are all Vietnam organizations very rigid when it comes to accent discrimination or it varies from organization to organization?

In an application I made, after passing through the necessary stages, I was evicted on the basis of my accent. I have attached my eviction mail.

For people that have started sending applications, please kindly share your experience so far.

I wanted to respond to you harshly the way you did, but the OP who seems to be a very objective person has already given you a reasonable response. Moving forward, don't just jump into discussions you don't fully understand and start attacking people directly instead of tackling the issues being discussed. If you properly read my argument and premises, there's no reason to be this bitter.

Lol @nonsense degree. Yeah, you're right, it's also another easy route. Do you have an estimate of the tuition fee. I hear Canada's fees are quite high and available scholarships quite low unlike in the US.

I tell you. And you are likely to live the rest of your life at their liberty, except God just help you get better one. If you have at least a 2;1 just use #70k to write GRE,use another 70k to write TOEFL. Prepare for these exams like say na life or death. Ace these exams and shoot your shot to US schools. If you get 320 and above in GRE, you must get full funding to a PhD program including monthly allowance of as high as $3000. And with a fully funded PhD, u will have no worries in securing your visa because Dem know say u b hot cake to get fully funded. Arrange your flight ticket money and BTA and ball into the US with your full chest and make your own choice of a life partner without fear of losing your legal status.

Then what happens after school ? People are trying to get citizenship not a PHD.

PhD gives you over 90% chances of getting your permanent residence, this will subsequently lead to citizenship. Even if for any reason, you don't get citizenship, your permanent residence status is guaranteed. In addition, even with the knowledge, skills and money you'll make while doing your PhD, you'll become hot cake in other developed countries of the world, if for any reason your village people find a way to stop you from getting your permanent residence/citizenship in the US.

Note that it's not compulsory to follow this route, there are other routes to follow. Everything depends on the skill/resources you possess or what you wanna do with your life. But in my opinion, if you are academically sound, the PhD pathway is the cheapest way to enter and remain in the US. The only other cheap but difficult and complex (another topic on its own) alternative is to get married to a US citizen.

Please can you give some tips on what to expect and how to excel in a TEFL job interview. It will be nice if you can share your interview experience so far, both online and onsite.

If you can be strategic, the US is the cheapest route. Write the GRE and get a fantastic score, it will open you up to full funding opportunities, especially at the PhD level.

Hi... I did a few research in this a while ago. While some schools are pretty expensive, there are mekunu others. However before you proceed, I'll advice that you contract the schools themselves. Kindly find the attached.

I don't know much about health care, but from shine sources, na just like naija... Get yourself a doctor and use her often. Wherever you decide to love, you can always have your go to doc!

Health care from what I've read AIS not expensive. People do surgeries and all sorts for really low cost. You can also do the insurance thingy and some jobs come with health insurance

Maybe one will have to save aggressively before kids get to school attending age, and then relocate to a country with very affordable quality primary and secondary education cost when kids get to this age.

1) Average annual cost of health care
2) Average annual cost of quality primary education
3) Average annual cost of quality secondary education

This may help those who will like to raise a family in Vietnam to make an informed decision.

1) As much as 30-40 dollars per hour. People earn higher. It depends on the Center and also if you do one on one

3)The thing with buses are, just like in Nigeria, you still have to take a bike to your final destination or walk some distance. I won't advice this except you intend to combine with bike

4) Of course. Same road,same traffic. Another reason I won't advice it. Plus, they tend to take longer routes to cover all designated bus stops sometimes. This is only advisable after your class and you're going home. That way, no pressure, you just relax and get home when you get home

@whyna please do justice to the following questions:

1)Do you have an idea of the average hourly pay rate for business English and IELTS teachers?

2)Is there a good demand for these kind of English teachers?

3)In one of your posts, you said bus fare is #130 naira, if one decides to use their public bus transportation instead of bykes can you give me an estimate of how much will be spent monthly. You can use your current number of schools as a case study to do your estimate.

4)If one decides to use their public bus, is it common for traffic to be a problem?
