My experience at the Redemption Camp goes thus: the convention I suppose had just been concluded and it was time for thanks giving where every one is free to dance forward in appreciation and anticipation of wat God has done or will do, among those that danced forward was a crippled man paceing up and down with his sticks, after some minutes of dancing all of a sudden, a great noice arosed from among the crowd. Behold the crippled man walked! But did not leave the alter until he was able to dance. It was a wonderful experience and Yes God still performs miracles. |
God perform special miracles for special event either to make people believe in him 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NIV), “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him ”or to show his people that he is d almigthy Psalm 77:14 (NIV), “You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples” |
outc@st:well i wish outc@st could explain what he meant by "all lies are derived from God" because the Devil is the father of all lies" John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. And to answer your Q? @okeyxyz God is not a murderer nor does he in one way or the other make people commit suicide. Yes God is omnipotent but 2 Timothy 1:7 says For the Spirit which God has given us is not a spirit of cowardice, but one of power and of love and of sound judgement (other version says self-control, wise discretion) so a person that commit suicide as actually listened to the lies of the Devil, making it affect is will making or discretion. Lets not confuse things here pls. |

THE Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has commenced an indefinite strike, following failure of the federal and stategovernments to implement agreements on issues affecting polytechnic educationin the country. The indefinite strike declared, Sunday, bythe union, followed end of a seven-day warning strike which ended weekend. Some of the issues incontention are non-migration of members at the lowercadres on CONTISS 15 salary scale; release of white paper on the visitation panel to federal polytechnics; non-commencement of needs assessmentof Nigerian polytechnics; worrisome state of state-owned polytechnics/monotechnics; and continued appointment of unqualified persons as rectors by some state governments. Others include failureof most state governments to implement approved salary packages (CONPCASS) for polytechnics and 65 years retirement age; continued recognition of the NBTE as a regulatory body for Nigerian polytechnicsagainst the creation of a national polytechnics commission; and the snail speed associated with the amendment of the Federal Polytechnics Act, amongst others. National President ofASUP, Mr Chibuzor Asomugha, told Vanguard, Sunday, that the indefinite strike had become inevitable because the meeting the unionhad with Secretary tothe Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, on the issues yielded no positive results. He said the strike would be called off only when governments addressed all issuesraised by the union, and urged all polytechnics across the country to abide by the directive to embark on strike.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/04/poly-teachers-begin-indefinite-strike/ |
Four female prison guards in Baltimore fell pregnant to the same inmate, according to authorities who have busted a major smuggling gang insidethe jail system. Two of the women tattooed the inmate’s name on their bodies and he showered three of them with expensive gifts including cars and jewelry. The four women are among 25people who face federal charges, including 13 female prison guards, CBS Baltimore reports. The scheme involved smuggling drugs and cell phones into Baltimore City Detention Center. U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein said the 25 defendants participated in running the activities of the Black Guerilla Family – a prison and street gang – from behind bars in Baltimore City. Thirteen female corrections officers, seven inmates and five alleged co-conspirators are charged with racketeering, money laundering and possession with the intent to distribute. Officials say all 13 have been suspended without pay and the department is moving to fire them. The affidavit says the corrections officers helped members of the notorious Black Guerilla Family gang smuggle cell phones, marijuana, prescription pills and cigarettes into the jail to sell to other inmates and make thousands of dollars. “This situation enabled BGF members to continue to run their criminal enterprise withinthe jail and the streets of Baltimore,” said Steve Vogt, FBI. Corrections officers hid the contraband in their shoes. Baltimore does not require employees to remove footwear when going through screening. The indictment says the ringleader, inmate Tavon White, reportedly made$16,000 in one month from the smuggled contraband. Four corrections officers-Jennifer Owens, Katera Stevenson, Chania Brooks and Tiffany Linder, who are also facing charges – allegedly fell pregnant to White while he was behind bars. Charging documents reveal Owens had “Tavon” tattooed on her neck and Stevenson had “Tavon” tattooed on her wrist. The indictment seeks the forfeiture of $500,000 and other proceeds of the enterprise, including luxury automobiles. White allegedly gave gifts to three corrections officers. Owens, Stevenson and Brooks received a diamond ring and luxury cars. Secretary of Public Safety & Correctional Services Gary Maynard said he was taking full responsibility. “It becomes embarrassing for me when we expose ourselves and we participate in an investigation that’s going to show what’s going onin our jails that I am not proudof,” he said. http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2013/04/23/25-correctional-officers-inmates-indicted-for-gang-activity-in-baltimore-jails/

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Godfrey Gaiya, has reacted to the ongoing lesbianism debate in female football in Nigeria saying the world football governing cannot impose its views on the country. Gaiya said Nigerian femalefootball administrators acted right by banning lesbianism in female football . "Nigeria is right by banning lesbianism, the laws of the land do not recognize lesbianism," he said. "It's not in our constitution. Nigeria's legal system doesn't permit homosexuals, be it male or female footballer." The lawmaker said he is in support of the position taken by the chairman of the Nigerian women football league, Dilichukwu Onyedinma, on the ban of lesbians from playing for the Nigerian national teams. "I support her completely because I don't think that FIFA rules surpass Nigerian rule and national law. If the chairperson said it's illegal in our teams, meaning she hasn't done anything wrong and I support her statement," he said. He said Nigerian officials cannot support any form of homosexuality because it is illegal in the country. "If Nigeria is in support oflesbians in the female teams, I think it's double standards. "It's against the rule of the land and not good for the image of this country, we will not subdue and surrender ourselves to any moral quote," he said. The lawmaker said FIFA had no basis to punish Nigeria for her position as no lesbian as been banned yet. He claimed that if Nigeria takes a position to ban homosexuals from its teams, it would not have violated any FIFA rules. "We are waiting for FIFA to tell us that we have gone against their rules by stating the particular article and section of the FIFA rules and regulationswhere it (homosexualism) is stated. I have gone through FIFA statutes andI didn't see it there," he said. "I stay by the laws of the land and what it says," he added. http://m.allafrica.com/stories/201303251426.html/?maneref=http%3A%2F%2Fmobile.newsnow.net%2FA%2F636539424%3F-21310 |

achina boy: donT forget that some people goes to church to show their new cars and clothes,to meet their boy or girl friends,to check out this chic he has been tracking for a while and so on,because i know i use to be in this category, and i don`t think am alone or am i?well getting a partner in the church is not in it self bad, infact it's good. However it shouldn't be your propeller |
Have you ever wondered why go to church? Or if you can't think of any real profound reasons to go to church, try these beneficial reasons out for size. It's not necessary to go to church in order to get saved and therefore go to heaven, but going to church still has very important benefits that can help improve your life and keep it in order. Below are reasons why we should attend church services on a regular basis. 1. Because it is an act of obedience to God and it honors the Lord's Day. Remember the Sabbath day, tokeep it holy (Ex. 20: .2. Because we need to belong to a community of faith that includes our brothers and sisters in Christ who are trying to live out the gospel just like we are. 3. Because we will benefit frombeing taught and led in worship by others, rather than always depending on ourselves to read and study the bible. 4. Because we need regular reminders of our standing in Christ, help in acknowledging and confessing our sins, and teaching about God's truth. 5. Because we need help in praying, tithing and fasting. 6. Because we need help to face the issues of life and faith as presented through the teachings of the Bible. 7. Because we need to hear how believers in the past struggled, grew and lived out their faith from different perspectives. 8. Because we need to hear about the experiences of other contemporary believers. 9. Because we need to hear reminders of God's love. 10. Because we need an alternative to the constant messages of a culture that ignores God. 11. Because we need to experience artistic and creative expressions of the faith, such as music, praying, fasting and tithing. 12. Because believers need help to reflect on the past week and see it as a small part of the journey of life. 13. Because we need a conscious break from work, family problems, and self interests in order to concentrate on the Lord. In brief summary, the strategies and schemes of thedevil are well thought out andproven to work better than the marketing strategies of rich corporations like microsoft. Therefore, we need other people we can count on to help us make it threw tough times when they arise. Our chances of finding people we can count on in church arefar better than finding someone we can count on anywhere else in the world. Plus, going up against these strategies with out proper guidance will lead to unnecessary mistakes being made on our part. In conclusion, going to church while also doing our own personal bible study at home on a regular basis helps us toget confirmation of God's message and what He wants us to do with our lives. |

China has bypassed Britain asthe world's fifth largest arms exporter, a Swedish think-tank said Monday. The volume of Chinese weapons exports rose by 162percent in the five years 2008-2012, compared to the previous five-year period, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute said in its report. That means China's share of all international arms exports increased to 5 percent from 2 percent, and the country climbed to fifth from eighth in the rankings. The largest buyer of Chinese weapons was Pakistan, which accounted for 55 percent of the country's exports, followed by Myanmar with 8 percent and Bangladesh with 7percent, SIPRI said. "China's rise has been driven primarily by large-scale arms acquisitions by Pakistan," saidPaul Holtom, director of the SIPRI Arms Transfers Programme. "However, a number of recent deals indicate that China is establishing itself as a significant arms supplier to a growing number of important recipient states." Such deals include the sale of three frigates to Algeria, eighttransport aircraft to Venezuela and 54 tanks to Morocco, SIPRI said. The U.S. remains the world's top arms exporter during the 2008-2012 period, with 30 percent of the global volume. Russia is second with 26 percent, Germany third with 7 percent, and France fourth with 6 percent, SIPRI said. China's move into the top-fivemeans Britain (now in sixth place) dropped off the list of the top five for the first time since at least 1950, the earliest year covered by SIPRIdata. The institute said Asia dominated the global imports of weapons, with the top five importers all located in that region. Here's SIPRI's list of the top 5 arms exporters in 2008-2012 (share of international exports in parenthesis): 1. United States (30 percent). 2. Russia (26). 3. Germany (7). 4. France (6). 5. China (5). The top 5 arms importers in 2008-2012 (share of international imports in parenthesis): 1. India (12 percent). 2. China (6). 3. Pakistan (5). 4. South Korea (5). 5. Singapore (4). http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/china-worlds-largest-arms-exporter-18751025 |

NEW DELHI – A Swiss tourist who was on a cycling trip in central India with her husband has been gang-raped by eight men, police said Saturday. The attack comes three months after the fatal gang-rape of a woman aboard a New Delhi bus, outraging Indians. Authorities detained and questioned 13 men in connection with the latest attack, which occurred Fridaynight as the couple camped out in a forest in Madhya Pradesh state after bicycling from the temple town of Orchha, police officer R.K. Gurjar said. They had been on their way to Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal. The men beat the couple and gang-raped the woman, he said. They also stole the couple’s mobile phone, a laptop computer and 10,000 rupees ($185). The woman, 39, and her husband were taken to a police station at 10:45 p.m. by a motorcyclist they stopped on the road, Arya said. The woman then had to travel about 50 miles to the city of Gwalior for a medical examination, he said. A photo showed the woman walking while being escorted by police to the hospital. Her face was concealed with a hood, a common practice in India, where law does not allow rape victims to be identified publicly to protect them from the stigma attached to rape. Six of the 13 detained men were released after questioning, Gurjar said. Swiss Foreign Ministry spokesman Tilman Renz described the case as “deeply disturbing” and said Swiss diplomats were assisting the couple. The diplomats called on Indian authorities “to do everythingto quickly find the perpetrators so that they can be held accountable,” Renz said. Last month, the Swiss government issued a travel notice for India that included a warning about “increasing numbers of rapes and other sexual offenses” there. India has seen outrage and widespread protests against attacks on women since December’s fatal gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman on amoving bus in New Delhi, the capital. A suspect in the December attack was found dead in jail this past week. Authorities said he hanged himself, but his family insisted foul play was involved. A magistrate isinvestigating. Four other menand a juvenile remain on trialfor the attack. http://m.startribune.com/?id=198621441 |

Activists in Ghana are calling for Chris Brown to go on trial for allegedly flouting anti-smoking lawsduring a concert there. Breezy is shown on a YouTube video to have asked the crowd at a gig:"How many of you all smoke weed?" When he got a cheer in response, he then said:"S**t, I got my blunt righthere." And now youth activist Jonathan Osei-Owusu is calling for the 23-year-old star to be extradited to the African nation for trial. "He promoted an illegality," Osei-Owusu told Radio.com. "You can see from the video and yet he was let go free. And a petition issued by the activist reads: "He is on video to have encouraged the audience to take up arms against people who stand in their way to smoking weed. In our prisons, many are incarcerated for same." He also claimed to have got Ghana's police force involved. "The last two days, I have been with the police and an investigation has commenced. The police have moved swiftly and they are not leaving anything unturned." |
Former Inter Milan and Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins has signed for the Seattle Sounders, the Major League Soccer club said on Friday. The 28-year-old, recalled to Nigeria's squad last week after being left out of their victorious African Nations Cup campaign at the start of the year, bought himself out of his deal with La Liga team Levante on Monday. According to Spanish media, his contract with Levante wasworth three million euros. Martins joined the Spanish club at the beginning of the season on a free transfer from Russia's Rubin Kazan and is their top league scorerwith seven goals. The speedy forward should form an effective strike partnership with US international Eddie Johnson at the Sounders. Seattle's average league attendance last year was 43 144, making them by far the best supported team in the league. "The move is consistent with our promise to the fans," majority owner Joe Roth told the team's website (www.soundersfc.com). |
