Investment › Re: Safe Betting: How I Lost N880,000 In 8 Minutes by KGBEAST(m): 1:21pm On Jul 29, 2020 |
abujarealtor: Good day, everyone.
Yesterday was one of the most confusing days for me. For a moment, I almost ran mad.
Two weeks ago, I didn't even know what betting was like. Never done it, never experienced it. I hardly knew what the numbers meant.
Fast forward to yesterday, Tuesday, 28 July, I was risking a client's money on a game I thought was 'a sure bet.'
It was an eSports game I've been following for a while. I knew the players involved were very skilled and could score for fun. They did so in over 10 successive matches last night. So I thought it was worthwhile betting they'd score at least 2 goals.
I tried to do so in three attempts, but didn't have the mind to follow through, only for the matches to end up with at least 3 goals or more.
Informed by this, I thought it was safe to go on ahead and play this one time. I did. Unfortunately, both matches didn't end like I had predicted.
Over 800k was gone in a flash. I couldn't believe it. Seeing the signs, I attempted a cash out while the match was still live but couldn't, as the option wasn't available.
You may wonder why I had to risk such a huge sum.
It's simple; think I got greedy.
However, my excuse was that I needed money to offset some bills. Faced with so much responsibilities, I thought winning over a million naira would go a long way in helping me take care of stuff since business hasn't been coming in so much. The tile money I used was my first business since March, before the lockdown.
But, of course, my greed overshadowed any excuse I could offer.
To all the young men out there, please, regardless of how sure you are, do not stake more money than you're willing to lose. I've been there. The allure of making it big sooner can be overwhelming, but don't risk it.
If you must, stake little sums and make future bets from your winnings.

@lalasticlala, Mynd44 I'm not sure whether this is the right place for this, but pls help push it to the front page so people can learn from my experience. Betking |

Family › Re: Are These Enough To Cause A Divorce by KGBEAST(m): 7:32pm On Jul 27, 2020 |
grasiouso: Hello fam, please I need sincere advise on this issue. I created this account for this purpose so I can remain anonymous and get as much advise as I can.
I will give as much details as necessary for better understanding and to have a balanced view. My husband complains that I do things in isolation which has been the major cause of our quarrels. To be honest, the things he has complained about are usually things I do in good faith. For example, some weeks ago I came across a post on Nairaland that talked about the difficulties private school teachers are currently going through due to the covid 19 pandemic. While reading that post, I remembered a teacher living in our neighbourhood and immediately I felt like rendering a little help, so I sent her 5k (I have her account number from a transaction I did with her sometime back). I did this anonymously cos I didn't want her to know it came from me and till today even though she sees me often she has never talked about it which makes me believe she doesn't know it came from me. I later told my husband what I did expecting he would commend me but got the exact opposite. He flared up that I should have informed him before doing so. Note that we both work and have earnings. I did this from my 'personal purse' per se and not the family purse. I have no problem informing him but he was not around at the time and I did what I did out of impulse to help someone. We really had a big quarrel and he did not fail remind me how he made a mistake with the marriage and we should go our separate way. That I am not submissive. Somehow I apologized and we managed to settle it.
Another incident: there is a virtual prayer group I belong to where we pray every morning mostly for families. People from different parts of the world join in this prayer. My husband sometimes joins but not consistent. This morning after the prayer, I sent the pastor a private message to remember my family in prayers especially for success in an exam my husband is about to write. I told my husband about this, and he flared up again. Then another round of talk of not being submissive and not obeying my husband. Please note that I'm not one of those who run after pastors and churches. I only joined this prayer group cos I connected with the way the pastor prays for families even though he doesn't know most of us and we don't know him personally.
These are just two out of the numerous issues. To be honest, I have made efforts to improve to please him and make our marriage work. I see these as petty issues and not something that should mean I am not being submissive or doing things in isolation. We talk about virtually everything we do but sometimes some things just come up that I react to immediately but always tell him about it.
As it is now, we may eventually go our separate way cos the constant reminder of him making a mistake to marry me because of my being un-submissive is making me lose interest in the marriage and killing the love I have for him. I just want to seek advise so it doesn't look like I did not make effort to make the marriage work.
Am I entirely wrong with my actions. Are the issues mentioned above not things that can be overlooked even after apologising. Should they warrant threats of divorce(which I don't have issues with anyway so everyone can have their peace)? There is either of two things, 1. Your husband is tired of the relationship or 2. Your husband is going through issues at work and taking it out on you, either way talking to him seems like a good idea to know what is going on |

Education › Re: Why Kiki Mordi Dropped Out Of UNN by KGBEAST(m): 2:18pm On Oct 12, 2019 |
fairfora: read my post again and you'd know the source and what she said on her identity Ok? Another lazy youth spotted here . I'm a product of same unilag. That such things happen in our clime doesn't mean the opposite also cant happen. As an undergraduate, girls would be sharing an invite in my class of an event taking place in the uk. Before you know it, they've jetted out to the uk, only to come back the following week. They're children of the rich and mighty. If they missed classes during which a test was conducted, and they failed, the same girls would be bringing tyres and money to bribe lecturers most of whom would reject their gifts. The situation is even worse nowadays. People like you would never also believe the fact that girls frame up lecturers who refused to do their bidding. Why were they wearing a mask while they granted kiki that interview? The previous events recorded in unilag and ife had proofs. In fact, in the unilag case, the lady was secretly filming the lecturer in his office and ife victim came to the public her identity wasnt hidden and all these served as evidence. Meanwhile, the accused man was only filmed whilst he was in church service as pastor conducting a normal church programme...think about it since you can only reason one-way. It's also possible they framed him up because they failed his course and being a pastor, he refused to take bribe presented to him.
In same unilag, I had heard of a girl who threatened to implicate a Muslim lecturer who doesn't take bribe. she tried severally to enter him but failed. I was in 300l then. She failed his course and the man is a disciplinarian. We used to call him alfaa, he's now prof. This man would order that a door be shut behind him to prevent students who came late to the lecture theatre from entering. He works with time. People rarely joked with his lectures in fact, many had had a reseat in the past because of just his course. He would take attendance after lecture and call it a test or CA and award marks in that regard. People on sick bed would leave the hospital to attend his lecture. when he discovered the girl was out to implicate him, he brought out the holy book to swear and also cursed her...your reasoning is a clear proof our youths are still backward in Innovations. Because the issue was published by the almighty BBC who lies at times, doesn't mean you should take it as it is. Things happen in our university and I cant wait to see all the lecturers involved being brought to book. But those girls too do implicate lecturers especially if they failed to have their way but because it's the opposite, nobody cares to talk about it. A deeper investigation is needed in this case Dr. Ajide Economics department |
Education › Re: Flogging Boys On The Buttocks And Girls On The Hands In Schools by KGBEAST(m): 8:12am On Sep 10, 2019 |
lecturer50: In most primary/secondary schools in Nigeria and Africa, there is a norm as far as corporal punishments is concerned.
Where caning is allowed:
Males students are generally beaten on their buttocks and females students on the palms of their hands.
These are the laid down rules although there could be some exceptions like:beating of back, feet, legs
As a male student, how did it use to feel like when they beat your buttocks during your school days?
As female student, how does it feel like when your hands are beaten.
Please i need replies with revelant examples from your primary/sec school day.
I need replies.

Oskydaniellyyy: Nigerians are hypocrites. When they are showing tens of millions of naira in the account to apply for the visa.
That is why the rejection rate is so high to the extent that the Canada visa process of study permit in Nigeria is very uncertain . US, new Zealand, UK ,Ireland and Australia schools are more expensive than Canada .
Look for cheaper schools in Canada to apply to and go to free tuition schools in Europe.
When Canada denied me, I just shift my attention to scadinavians. The visa and admission are very easier compare to Canada, life is also more relax there.
This depression is getting too much for international students from Africa.
My God help us. Pls list European countries that are tuition free for masters and their migration policy (as per do they grant post study visa) |
