jonbellion: Why don't you guys ever agree on anything naaaaaa Why do you people have you're own different interpretations. Is God supposed to be the author of confusion. This is what people like me would see and just try and distance myself from religion altogether and then later some of you would say the devil is my father Agree for Pete's sake Men are men, and will tend to disagree on interpretations. But man is not the authority, God is. So even if men disagree, that should not soothe your conscience as to your own waywardness. You are wayward because you are wayward. Period. It's entirely on you. |

Family › Re: Ways To Cool An Angry Wife by Kgdavid(m): 10:14pm On Nov 05, 2016 |
Giving in to women is not the way to have a happy, peaceful home.
The trick is simple but it requires one little prerequisite: make sure she loves you and knows that you love her.
When she is angry, put her in her place (non-violently.a look of displeasure accompanied by silence may suffice), and then beg her and pamper her afterwards. You don't argue with a woman; they get emotional, get hurt easily, shift the goal posts, raise their voices, cry...boy oh boy...you just don't want to go there. Instead, ensure you retain your power position by staying above the fray and making her second guess her actions.
Just my advice. Take it or leave it. |

ZoneBslayer: I'm trying to understand how footballers can suffer heart attacks, I mean they are supposed to be very fit sportsmen right And that is exactly the issue. The intensity at which professional footballers train, play and take all sorts of drugs puts tremendous strain on the human heart. They are much more prone to suffering heart attacks than the average individual. |

Just Negodu what Buhari has done to us all.
150 graduates recruitment is now a front page news greeted with massive joy all over the country
#SenatorSamuelAnyanwu2019 But two days ago when Skye Bank sacked 50 staff the likes of you were going haywire blaming Buhari, now that UBA is employing 150, creating a surplus of 100 to be credited to the old chap, you are saying it is not newsworthy. But the sack of 50 low evel staff at Skye Bank was newsworthy. SMH. |

Seems Buhari is working after all! Since it was his lack of performance that caused Skye Bank to sack 50 peopel, it must also be his good performance that has led to this abi? |

DJBIGGY: The logo has had the arabic inscription from day one. All the army did was to made the arabic inscription look better. Nigerians never complained back then. As Buhari came into power, it is an issue. Why are we like this?
When GEJ modified our nigerian currency and removed the arabic inscription, it was not an issue oooo!!!! Why would it be an issue?? He was doing what ought to have been done, which is what should be done to the army logo!! |

That's not a portion from the Qur'an, it's actually an Arabic way of saying' Victory is from God alone' Come to think of this: why is there a cross on red cross logo? Why is there a cross on Nigerian navy's logo? Are they meant for Christians? Are you a chronic liar or just acutely ignorant? there is no cross on the Nigerian Navy logo! What is on the NN logo is an anchor! what we are yet to be told is why arabic was selected as the language for that inscription... can you offer an explanation?

edebemba: Can somebody please clarify me? I am not understanding what is happening again. At first, it was alleged that the monies recovered from the houses of the Judges were bribe money. But now, according to paragraph 10 of this post, 'There is a strong suspicion by the DSS that money recovered from the residences of these Judges were drawn from the suspicious account'. Which one do we believe? Why the media trial when we are not too sure? You don't get it. If you are found with a gun in the middle of the night, you can be arrested immediately, on the suspicion that you are abut to commit or have just committed a crime. What particular crime, whether it be murder, armed robbery, assault, etc, does not matter at the time, and will be the subject of further investigations. But you can and should be arrested on the spot. The judges were suspected of engaging in dubious financial transactions. Unexplainably huge sums were found on them. Now whether those monies came from bribes or from an illicit supreme court account, we don't yet know, but it is clear that investigations are turning up a lot of things that prove that the DSS is right to be investigating these senior citizens of Nigeria. Furthermore, there is nothing to suggest that the monies found on the judges all came from one source. They could have been collected from a variety of sources including this secret account, bribes, and other such. Discovering the truth is the whole purpose of investigation. |

Tolexander: This is barbaric!
These children's lateness should be better blamed on their parents, school topography and government.
Seeing the topography of the school, the area seems to be primitive and will likely take these children long distance to trek to school. Moreover, the soil is wet and muddy. Can't this make the children to be late also?
We talk about being disciplinarian in Africa, yet it is not reflecting in our behavior when we become adult. Moreover, forcing these children to kneel/crawl through mud will get their clothing dirty for the rest of the day! |

Xtfield: I can authoritatively tell you that it was a very delicious meal that was served. On Sunday afternoon for instance, Jollof rice with big piece of chicken was served. In addition you get a cup orange juice. For breakfast on most days you get 6 slices of bread, butter, cornflakes and tea with one boiled egg etc. It was fun in those days. However in spite of the low feeding cost, some students could not afford 3 meals. We often skipped breakfast since lunch is served from 12 noon. Take this from a man who attended University of Ibadan from 1979 to 1982. I was an indigent student back then and in my second year, I had to do 2 hours work in the University Library at one Naira per hour subject to a maximum of 20 hours a month. The twenty Naira I earn in a month took care of my meals. The op should be flogged for not including this little detail in his post. Almost everyone who has reached 200 level must have done some bit of economics in their life time, enough to understand inflation. Yet, i can see fully sane individuals wishing they could still buy a plate of food for 50k today, on Salaries in the thousands of naira.

Politics › Re: Nigeria Is Not A Democratical Nation by Kgdavid(m): 10:35pm On Nov 04, 2016 |
thedarkside: not realy...
if you realy understand the nature and the tribes in the area called nigeria today, you would understand that democratie can not work........
democratie only works with people that agree in one purpose....toghether no matter what!...
we africans in general dont have that kind of mindset...
we are diverse.extremly, and we love it that way in a bizarr way...it works...
we still outnumber the europeans, even after the deported alot of us to the americas....
what system did we use??....
militaristic....
thats why we always have the instincts to fall back to it when in distress...
we have to decide...
1. become completly militaristic and follow orders..(i think the best for nigeria) 2. mix of militaristic+democratie+theologie...(this would make a balanced approach, but will make states less controlable from the center) 3. full out democracy!....(this will not work...its a matter of time till it collapse and its very expensive too.!)
anyways..
my opinion.... 1. If we as a people are fundamentally divided and cannot stand each other, then no system of governance could keep us together. It would be much worse under a military system, under which the other sections of the country would feel oppressed by the section of the country whose member is the military leader. 2. Democracy has never required that all sections of a state be of one mind, regarding national identity. In the US there is a deep divide between North and South that stretches way back to the abolition of slavery and the American civil war. Till today, there are some states within the US which are almost rogue states in terms of how their political identity. This has not stopped the American democracy from working relatively well. How about the UK where four different nations combine and are always talking about splitting up? Their democracy seems to be working just fine. The issue is not about diversity. The issue is about creating strong government institutions, backed by the rule of law, that can be relied upon to fulfil the function they are created for. Every successful state has these. The military cannot be relied upon to serve this function because there would be no limit to their power. Where there is unlimited power, you are playing a game of Russian roulette: sure you might get a good ruler once in a while, but you may also end up dead. |
