Battles between rappers has and will always be an integral part of hip-hop. Those who dont know jack about hip-hop sit back and yap loads of b.s about who makes more money than the other. Whether ruggedman sells more records or not doesnt change the fact that mode 9 has international acclaim and is a staple choice over ruggedman as a true icon of naija hip-hop. Ask Talib Kweli or Nas about naija rappers and guess who represents for them. Its not rocket science to know that hardcore will never sell as much as crowd pleasing choruses and beats. Ruggedman started his career by dissing soft targets he could murder on his tracks but now its different but he shouldnt shy away cos his street cred among true heads is at stake. Otherwise he can hide behind club anthems and dance beats till mode 9 retires.
