I believe it is very unfair and selfish to put the burden of providing for their parents, and siblings, which is something those parents should have provided for, onto this young couple starting out their new life together.

Sure there are times the family members may need help as well as the new couple, and help should be offered if they are able but to put the burden on this newly married couple as though they are the sole caretakers is ridiculous. Marriage is hard enough.

#2. If the wife's parents can afford to pay the school fees and clothing for their grandkids why is it expected of the daughter and her husband to provide for her parents, of course I'm not talking about caring for them in their old age?

#3. Is the gift of the GOLDEN TICKET also awarded to the husband's family or just the wife's? This sounds like a bunch of entitled leeches.

The family can't force them to be happy, they can only convince them to stay in an unhappy marriage, and where is the help in that?

2. What if the married couple only wished their family members would stay out of their marital affairs and let them handle things on their own, would that go against your culture?

3. Why is the wife's family paying all of these fees and buying clothes for the kids when that is the responsibility of the parents?
