The ranks in the Nigerian Navy is based on two categories: the commissioned officers and the non commissioned officers.

COMMISSIONED OFFICERS
Commissioned officers consist of 12 ranks in the Nigerian Navy and they are

1. Admiral of the Fleet
2. Admiral
3. Vice Admiral
4. Rear Admiral
5. Commodore
6. Captain
7. Commander.
8. Lieutenant Commander
9. Lieutenant
10. Sub-Lieutenant
11. Acting Sub-Lieutenant
12. Midshipman


NON COMMISSIONED OFFICERS
Non Commissioned officers consists of 7 ranks in the Nigerian Navy and they are :

1. Warrant Chief Petty Officer.
2. Chief Petty Officer.
3. Petty Officer.
4. Leading Rating.
5. Able Rating (Seaman)
6. Ordinary Rating(Seaman)
7. Trainee.

for the record, the army dont use the name warrant officer class 1 nd 2 any more, after staff sergeant, u have warrant officer(wo) den followed by master warrant officer(mwo) and den the army warrant officer(awo). same goes to navy nd airforce.

this is what I call the army of darkness, nd u guys wont believe that, a time would come when the other ranks would rise up against the officers, that day would be bloody, because of the mentality of the officers, treating the other ranks as slaves and bullying and subjecting them to all forms of treatment. any way i blame the British for instilling this type of ideology into the Nigerian military, when you see an Ethiopian soldier and officers, or Kenya or other African militaries watch the officers and other ranks relationship u wld pity our Nigerian army. an army were u have to provide your own personal kits, an army where a riffle has more value than a soldiers life, an army where your entitlement are being embezzled by the top commanders, well if u haven't noticed that yet then u wld never know.

better place a tracking device on it dis time, we no wan hear say dis one don lost. lols

don't worry super falcons ur reward is in heaven. imagine dis govt wants people to be patriotic nd law abiding but look at how dis govt is showing its love to its people. well I prefer the super falcons to the eagles anytime nd day. dey don't disappoint naija.

RIP. But I don't understand. From the rank of LANCE CORPORAL to BRIG GEN? How did he join from the rank of LCpl rather than Private? And was he commissioned? Even if he was commissioned as executive commission, how did he rise to that rank as an EC officer? I'm aware SSC officers can get as high as that but EC?

have u ever heard the word conversion? a short service commission can convert to full regular in the army, u only need to apply nd write nd pass ur conversion exams, nd u must be d rank of a captain, den ur seniority wld be backdated along wit d course u passed out from the academy wit. Rip sir!

den d army should provide or include civilian in its basic airborne course in jaji, lols e no easy to train as corper den na airborne u wan go do? wel it is a good idea sha but u need d guts to do dat. remember in airborne ders no packing space in the air. lols all the way airborne 4 life....... CHEST MAJOR.

remember wen u die for the army, if u are married or hv kids, u will only succeed in making life more difficult for dem. watch wat u post on line, instead of u to be praying to God to protect ur life. the highest tin the army wld do 4 u is gv u general salute nd Patee! den after dat ur commanding officer wld freez ur salary nd der d suffering begins nd mind u ur family wld be kicked out of the barracks nd god bless u if u don't have a house of ur own. wit ur post i already know that u are still a young soldier so pls be wise.....

how many men of God are willing to give his for dat of his followers, wen some of dem are busy moving around with armed escorts nd body guards, well 4 me i feel dat all dis our so called men of God are just more fearful dan der members. cus wen u are wit God u don't need armed security or guards to protect u, it shows dey lack faith nd trust in the Lord.

Good day my brethrens, i want to use this opportunity to know why we as Christians choose to call our men of God Daddy. is this right or wrong, please let's know your opinion? cus in my own view i see it as very wrong for us to do so. nd our so called men of God answers wen dey are called daddy, look back wen or Lord Jesus Christ was on earth he never uses the word God in his teachings he always used father, in hebrew abah, wch we can also say daddy. nd in the book of Isaiah 42:8. it is boldly stated der.

Guy, relax. Don't compare what obtains in military training institutions with units. Have u ever heard of non fraternisation between instructors and students (both officers and men)?

It will interest u to know that both officers and men are instructors and students at the same time.
An instructor (officer or soldier) is not allowed to mingle with students (officers and men) cos standard may be compromised. I doubt if u are truly a military personnel, otherwise u wouldn't have been using training institutions as examples.

Apparently, u are a soldier/rating/airman as the case may be (from ur narration).
The topic is about officers not soldiers pls and my comment is about officer's cadre. When I said "other ranks", I'm not referring to soldiers but ranks from 2nd Lt to Col, based on my argument.
Meanwhile, I will advise u to desist from this unprofessional act of misinforming the public, if truly u are a military personnel.
The idea of treating an officer like an outcast as a punishment for being nice to his soldiers is nothing but lies and this is mischief. Officers and men may be undergoing some unethical treatments but certainly not for the reason u highlighted above.
Officers are officers and soldiers are soldiers, non are slaves or masters to the others. In any organisation, there are junior and senior staff based on their respective entry qualifications/training. And instructions always flow from the senior staff to the junior staff, just that in the military, these instructions are passed with regimentality.

so good den so try and visit any of der corp schools like nasi in jaji or nasa in katchia.

Actually, from brig gen to gen and above, it is political (region and zone things), but for other ranks, it is purely based on meeting the requirements in terms of seniority on rank, having good records from unit etc. Some people are just in the habit of spreading falsehood.

well take it or leave it dats d blunts truth, how well do u knw ur army? have u ever served in the army? as an other rank dey re slaves to officers, nd some act as bullies to der subordinates, but believe me wit wat u nd ur friend just said i knw u are just a civilian. as we say (who no come no go know wetin i see). if an officer is nice to soldiers he wld be treated like an outcast within der cycle. examples are d likes of capt hassan, col ee john nd ur present nsa maj gen mongunu, hw did dey end up?

it is known d good guys don't get to the top, in the army an officer dat is good to soldiers hardly get to the top. but 4 d heartless, mean, wicked are always on the list to continue wat we call the army of darkness....

dats naija 4 u wer even d soldiers are not well paid not to talk more of police den it is our beloved super falcons. but never in the history of Nigeria have dey been a time dat d nass nd executive
