dappssee: Married six years with two amazin kids. Dated two years before we got married and while we dated I had doubts. All my friends thought she was just another fling but she stayed longer and drew closer than I had hoped. She got pregnant and then we got married about six years ago. Her English was and still is poor though she had sworn to work on it before the marriage but nothing has changed half a dozen years after. Before her, I had a couple of relationships and I've been in love once or twice before but with her I just feel nothing.

Right now, all I just want is for my kids to be happy and most times she just fits into my plans for them so she could assume I care but really if you took my kids out of the picture, I don't give a hoot. From the look of things, I would assume she loves me or maybe has some sort of affection but no matter how hard I try, I don't feel a thing. Now I'm torn between - I don't want my kids to be raised by separated parents (my parents are still together) and I'm losing it deep down inside of me, struggling with myself and I just can't tell a soul.

I'm good looking, quite comfortable and a highflier with a fantastic paying job and I have a swarm of female friends. One of them, 24, just out of school and an entry level staff in a financial institution is so keen on getting married to me and we've been seeing each other for close to three years but still it doesn't feel as good as I've felt once or twice in my previous relationships. I'm just so unhappy and it's affecting me

With the options you have, leaving the marriage will only sound selfish. . . Some where in those married vows said for better or worse. What efforts have you made to help your wife? Isn't she ready to learn? I really kinda feel sad when people think they can leave a marriage simply because they can. . . What happens to the 24 year old if in future the love fades, cos you said it's not good after 3years?! You have work to do. You know what you want but i think you just feel those things would happen magically. . . No sir, it wont. You have to work on yourself, your marriage, and then your family. There's nothing you get outside that your wife cannot give you, it all depends on you, and your degree of accommodativeness and acceptableness.
I believe that with your help and encouragement, your wife could be who you want her to be. I'm just afraid that you may not be so willing to work on your marriage, cos you already have an emergency life jacket. . .
